Freehand Fantasy Sunset Castle Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing? I hope you are excited for a fun or lazy weekend? Which ones do you like best?!

Today's nail art was actually created the last time that I was home in England, yeaaaaah. I kept having other posts come up that I had to push in front (weekly challenges, reviews etc) so I finally get to share my fantasy sky castle with you! Wahoo. Those clouds look fluffy, right?!

Actually.. talking about England... I'm going back at the end of the month!

Glossy Version.

I opted for a pinky orangey sky for this manicure because it looks sort of dreamy, my dear friend said to me it looks like candy land, what do you guys think? You guys know I am sucker for rainbows!

For this manicure I used only my OPI Nail Envy base coat (I am not sure I'd have nails without this stuff.) Barry M 'White' and my Pro-FX top coat. I finished this one off with a matte top coat, a glossy top coat just did NOT fit this manicure, but you can decide for yourselves!

Have you had fairytale style nail art before? Would you want to visit this castle?

Thank you so much for stopping by, don't forget to let me know your thoughts or even just say hi! I'll be back on Monday with another freehand design - any ideas what it might be?

Swirly Freehand Acrylic-Rainbows and Tiny Stars!

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? Did you have a good weekend?
Mine was crazy busy, on Saturday we went to Mr Bravo's nephew's second birthday party. It was lovely watching him rip open his gifts with the excitement only a two year old knows!

Then around 3.30pm we boarded a bus in the Spijkenisse centrum which took us to Amsterdam where we watched a concert by a band called 'De Toppers' – they are a Dutch tribute band that do all sorts of songs both in Dutch and English. It was SO much fun but we didn't get home until 3-3.30 am and honestly it's killed me a little! I am not used to these late nights, haha. If you were around on Instagram you may have seen me go live :)

Today I have another design once again prompted by the weekly challenge over on TinyCanvas. I feel like I've had a lot of practice with this particular theme.. RAINBOW!!!

So for this nail art I decided I was going to do another acrylic-gradient. Highly time consuming, mostly relaxing with a smidgen of frustration.. but always a delight come the end I find. This basically means painting each colour one by one with a paint and mixing paints to blend the colours through to the next.

I found trying to do a swirlier acrylic-gradient a whole new challenge. No lie, it probably took longer than my usual ones!

For this manicure I began with my OPI base coat, 'Nail Envy' and once dry applied one thin coat of Barry M's 'White' nail polish. Once this was dry I then added a thin coat of my PRO-FX top coat to create a nice smooth barrier for my paints to sit on top. Next came the 2-3 hour process of blending (attempting) those babies together!

What do you think of this manicure? Do you like rainbow nails or do you prefer to stick to just a few colours?

Have a beautiful day, my friends. Thank you so much for stopping by! I'll catch you again on Wednesday for some more nail art fun!

Freehand Abstract Nail Art With Gradients

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope your week is off to a good start?

Today's manicure came from a random evening of painting. I wanted to do something freehand but I didn't have the energy to do something big, so I decided to just doodle... I wanted to have a lot of colour gradients going on through the different shapes but I think it all looks muddled. Also my gold paint looks really lumpy – I also added two coats of tinted matte polish which gave it an even weirder look!

For this manicure I began with Mezmris Nail Lacquer's Armor Up base coat and once dry applied two coats of Barry M's White. I then mixed some light grey acrylic paint and created random lines and shapes. I then proceeded to fill these shapes in all different colours and did some acrylic-gradients too. I applied Mezmris Nail Lacquer Armor top coat but was really unhappy with how the manicure was looking – It was just so uneven and weird looking so I added Catrice's 'Matte & More' top coat which seemed to give it a vintage-like look.. so I went ahead and applied another coat.... When all else fails.. blag it!

I considered outlining the different shapes but in all honestly I just wanted to crawl into bed and I also thought it might dominate the manicure if I have much ore black.

What do you think of this abstract manicure? Have you done doodle type nails before?

Have a beautiful day my friends, I'll catch you again on Thursday, I'll be showing you some delightful new polishes from a brand that is new to me - I'm excited to share them with you!

The City Of Colour - Acrylic Gradient

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I've been kinda useless the last couple of days.. feeling so poorly and just having no energy. I've not been able to eat as normal which is not like me! As crazy as it sounds I'm putting it down to January slummage. It may be the start of a new year but its a rough month - many expectations and the gloomy dark weather...

I hope you've been having a great week so far :) If not, just hang on! The weekend is in sight! Today I have a manicure to share with you that I'm totally undecided on.
I don't like it when I don't know how a manicure makes me feel. I want to be able to finish a long manicure and be pleased with myself, I'll let you guys decide.

Essie: Vibrant Vibes Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

Allo polish Pals,
How are you doing today?
Did you notice my new link above? I've started a 'Blogger Brick Wall' - it means if you leave your link in the comments on *this* page I will create a teeny mini screenshot of your blog and include a link to your blog. The idea is to make a really awesome 'wall' made of all these blogging bricks as a great way we can discover new blogs and make new friends - kind of like a nail/beauty blog portal. Go leave your link there if you want your blog shared!

I have a swatch and review for you today, this is a polish which was recently gifted to me by Mr Bravo's sister. Although we're not actually married we call each other sister in law, she really is a wonderful lady and I am so glad to have met her and have her in my life! Today we're looking at 'Vibrant Vibes' from Essie.

Colour ~ 'Vibrant Vibes' is a beautiful bright neon spring green/apple green shade.

Application ~ I applied two coats coats for these pictures as I was in speed-swatch mode which means I had a wet coat when I applied my second. Even with this going against it I still had no real issues with my application. It is incredibly self leveling and I believe with a little extra time on my hands my thumb would have been near perfect. Very fast drying.

Texture ~ More on the watery side but still applies really smoothly and not too runny. Dries to a semi matte smooth looking finish.

Recommend it to a friend? 100% if she didn't have anything like this in her collection!

★★★/★★/5 Totally worthy of a fantastic four stars. Colour, application and texture are all really desirable in a polish and you gotta love that self leveling magic!

What do you think of this bright green polish? Do you own anything simular?

Have a beautiful day!

Greyscale peacock

Hi everyone!
How are you all doing today? Today I have another manicure which was created TWICE. Twice! And I still didn't like the outcome!  (That's nothing... what is on my nails right now is the 4th attempt...What's wrong with me?!) Basically, I did my peacock lady just too dark, so her sparkly little head thingy-plumes didn't glisten and sparkle as I had hoped – same happened with the eye....*Total face palm in the most dramatic way*

I'm having terrible nail luck lately. Hopefully by the time I post this it has improved. I sure hope so because I find it so disheartening to keep creating things that don't make me happy or satisfied.

For this manicure I began my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and followed on with two coats of Barry M's 'White'. Next I created my peacock and feathers using only black and white acrylic paints and filled in certain parts with nail polishes. For the feathers I used a mixture of Hema's 'Green circus', Pretty Serious's 'Crystal lake' glitter and Model's Own 'Gold Rush'.

Its not.. really what I wanted. I hate it when that happens. Maybe you guys like it better than I do? I can only hope!

What do you think of my peacock feathers? Have you had peacock nails before?
Have a wonderful day!

Black And White With Striking Dots

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? Got anything exciting to tell me? Go on, be as random as you like :D

Today I have a manicure which was created before I went to England in September... Its a bit messy, my black acrylic paint was near its death (Thankfully a new one has managed to find its way to me)

I have a confession, actually... I don't remember the coloured polishes I used for this manicure. Argh,
so unlike me not to write everything I used down but eh... Too bad!I certainly don't remember them all after this long!

This manicure began as two coats of Barry M's 'White' which I then added black acrylic on top of in various ways. I then used a dotting tool to create larger and smaller dots with white acrylic paint. (I've come to hate dotting with polish, I hate it when it gets stringy and ruins things) I then used various bright polishes and a dotting tool to fill in a few of the dots.

Its not as neat as I would have liked but I have to admit that in person it was quite striking, I did like how eye catching it was!

What do you think of my slightly different dotticure? Do you like making dotty nail art?
Have a great day!

Killer Clowns - Freehand Halloween Nail Art & Short Story

It was a cold and blustering night as Ithfifi arrived outside the gloomy location...
It was a little odd maybe that she was the only one stood waiting outside the old abandoned balloon factory, at the door marked 'A'.  She'd expected there would be other girls here waiting to be let inside too, ah well. Perhaps she wasthe first to arrive.

Ithfifi had been jumping up and down with joy when the invitation came through the letter box. The invitation read:

“Congratulations, you have been selected as one of 20 winners. We would love to see you at 01.00am at the old abandoned balloon factory (door A) on Saturday 31st of October where you will be able to select 50 brand new nail polishes of your choice. Mobiles and communication devices will not be permitted inside the building. COME . ALONE.”

The prospect of winning 50 new polishes had clouded Ithfifi's better judgement.

Now, as she stood here, swaying in the wind all alone she began to wonder if this really was such a good idea after all. Suddenly the door marked 'A' creaked open slightly. “Hello, is anyone there?” she called out hesitantly. “I'm here because of the invitation... for the nail polish. Is anyone else here?” A light switched on inside and she peered through the open door...

The room was bathed in an eery white light. It was a single massive room, it looked as though some of the machinery was still inside but it was hard to tell because the room was covered in hundreds and hundreds of colourful balloons. Without a warning the balloons started to move and sway as if someone were running through them, occasionally a few balloons popped revealing the shadowed shape of figures running towards her.
She caught a glimpse of a face, huge wide eyes and great gnashing, razor sharp teeth, a head full of every colour of hair.

Suddenly the light went off and all she could hear was multiple strange laughs and howls echoing off the walls of the room and the excruciating sound of rubbery balloons on skin.
Base colours: Barry M 'Black' and Essie's 'Cashmere Bathrobe'. Details done with acrylic paint and Barry M Matte top coat.
Some say she became one of them... Others say she simply vanished on that night, as if she had floated away from this life.

I hope you like this post - I'm always a little nervous when I 'write' stuff, this was.. less than I had hoped for!.. I'm behind on my commenting but I'm coming, I miss visiting everyone's blogs as often.

I hope to all of you who may be celebrating tonight that you have a great time and stay safe! But everyone, just have a really lovely weekend :)

Freehand Water Colour & Eye Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you guys doin'? Are you doing anything fun this weekend? Something is happening here tomorrow... I don't actually know too much (And I'm the kind of girl who needs to know everything!)... I dunno. I'm sure it will be fun :)  Sunday I am going to work on my 3rd Halloween manicure (I am doing Halloween nails even if I am not posting them all month long - I just can't! Don't make me! :'( )

Anyway, today I have a manicure I created while I was in England.
I wanted this to be super artsy, colourful and down right awesome! Check, check, ehmm..Not sure about the awesome part! If you havn't already please don't forget to share and enter my two giveaways, one for nail art items and another for a $15 Born Pretty Store voucher.

For this manicure I used only one nail polish, my beloved and irreplaceable (unless actually replaced by another bottle...which has happened many a time.) Barry M 'White' which is my favourite white base for nail art (two coats of good coverage and great price) The rest was created with acrylic paints and my bamboo brush. On my thumb and pinkie I added a water colour effect.

I do wish the eye was better, I love doodling eyes when I'm bored but painting across a few a nails was harder then I expected. I should have rounded off the bottom of the eye as it looks too straight - or goes upwards at the sides of the nail which doesn't create the rounded shape I wanted, and perhaps over two nails would have been enough.

Ah well, apparently art is... art. There's no right or wrong because it's the artists perception or whatever, basically when something sucks to high levels I play the art card and act like it was supposed to look that way... Wink wink.

What do you think of this manicure? Have you tried a water colour mani before?

Have a great day!

How are you doing today? Holland is hot hot hot! Is it hot where you are? House work needs to be undertaken during the morning when its cooler, the afternoons are for melting into a cold puddle on the floor. Ithi puddle, nice... Its also not ideal for nail art, especially not decals who want to sort of... melt during application! Still – You gotta make the most of these situations! Today I have the second to last set of floral decals from the C112-C115 mixed floral decal sheet from The Born Pretty Store. This is C113. I decided to pair this one with some nail art.

Born Pretty Store states that these studs will come in sizes 1mm-10mm so there's something for everyone if your not a fan of larger studs. The picture shown on the Born Pretty Store shows a variation to the studs I received – it looks like they are really randomly selected but I absolutely loved what was in my pot. I had beautiful 3D tear drops, Tiny cute bow ties, big pearly hearts and half beads, small crystal like studs, squares and rectangles and one beautiful white moustache. There was also three big beaded hollow heart shapes (You will see this in the picture featuring the studs, click read more)

Blended Cocktail Gradient

Allo polish Pals!
How are you guys doing today? Today Mr Bravo and I are traveling back to Holland. The traveling part is never something I look forward to so I try to sleep through it! When I first arrived home in England my Mother had a real surprise for me...my mother is simply amazing in the way she always surprises me with new nail polishes whenever I visit – she is so kind and sweet to me and has always been so helpful and supportive of my blog. I was amazed to see Rimmel's and Essie's (Cute fact: my 4 yr old Niece Emilia helped her pick out the Essie's, girl's got taste!) Of course I couldn't wait to try them out and as it turned out, all of these colours looked absolutely beautiful together. ”Try all the polishes all at once!!!!” - That really is how my brain works.

For this manicure I began with two coats of Barry M's 'White' and once dry I began to sponge on a mixture of Essie's 'Splash Of Grenadine' and 'Tart Deco', I also used Rimmel's 'Bestival Blue', 'Love Bug' and 'Roll In The Grass'. I did not create this as a regular gradient, it was done with the 'Love Bug' the pale yellow shade in the center of the other four polishes. I added a border to all the nails using Oumaxi's white acrylic paint. Finally I smoothed it all out with Catrice's top coat.

Its not my usual type of gradient but I really like the colours together! Because of the way I've done it it is not completely blended out like a regular ombre/gradient but I kinda like that! It reminds me of a photography filter.

What do you think of my less conventional gradient? Do you like these colours together?
Smile tons and have a lovely day, I'll see you when I get to the other side!

Lego Brick Nail Art - Freehand

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope your week is going swimmingly! What have you been up to?
I created some Lego nails a little while ago.. and while I don't like to swear or curse on my blog all I want to do is jump up and down shouting 'S*!# Bricks!' - excuse me, I'll calm down. I had wanted to create some Lego inspired nail art for a while. I really wanted to try and get in some shading practice so it was a fun challenge. These nails may not be perfect but to me it cries toy box and childhood memories!

Shh... Don't tell anyone... When I was younger I used to collect those little furry things that fall from the trees (Here we call them Pussy Willow) during 'play time' (or recess) at school. I would keep them in my pocket until I got home and then I would build them Lego houses. I realize how incredibly uncool that sounds!! I'm often referred to as odd... :)

Lego are actually a great educational toy in so many ways. Check out BrickDave's 'Learn With Lego'.
For this manicure I used only one coloured polish which was Barry M's White for my base. Everything else is done entirely with Oumaxi acrylic paints and my trusty best friend of a bamboo brush. I added a few dots here and there with a tiny dotting tool and finished the whole thing off with Catrice's top coat.

Did you play with Lego when you were younger? Have you had childhood inspired nails?

Have a beautiful day!

Summer Swirls And Butterflies - Freehand With Foil

Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? Do you have any nice plans this weekend? I'm looking forward to spending more time with my family – I'm making the most of it while I can! Next weekend we fly back to Holland. Today I am showing you some nail foils (in c-09) from The Born Pretty Store. I actually purchased these myself at the beginning of the year and if I am honest, I was scared to use them; I had a few attempts and it didn't go too well but I am so happy with this manicure! If I had to wait to show them to you then I am glad because this turned out way better then my previous attempts!

Pinky Princess Punk, Skull Candy!

Allo polish Pals!
Hope your having a great weekend? Did you get up to anything fun? Today I have a really... over the top manicure to share with you. Just remember, I warned you! I wanted to create something really bright, this isn't my favorite manicure of all time but it delivered the over top look I felt like creating.
I used a mixture of 2mm shaped studs from The Born Pretty Store (excluding the stars) which are on sale right now for just $0.99

On all my nails I applied two coats of Barry M's 'Matte White' and followed by creating a sort of ruffian style – I wanted my ruffian to be centered on one side instead of central – I used Barry M's 'Starlet' (One of my most loved glitters) and created a thin border around it using Oumaxi paint. I then applied a top coat and began sticking random studs from The BornPretty Store to the white part of my nails. On my ring finger I applied two coats of 'Starlet' and created a skull using white paint.

Its pretty... 'in your face' right? Would you wear this many studs in one manicure? Do you prefer subtle manicures or bright and happening manicures?

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
