Claire's: Splash Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

How are you doing today? I hope you are having a great start to the week. Today I am going to be showing you 'Splash' from Claires.

Colour ~ Splash is a beautiful frosty looking aqua shade. This polish has a beautiful fine silver shimmer to it which gives it a really pretty icy look to it.

Application ~ I wasn't 100% sure what to expect as this polish is on the thicker side but it actually applies really nicely and doesn't take too long to dry. I had no trouble with streaking or bubbling at all!

Texture/Finish ~ Certainly on the thicker side although that's not a bad thing. It dries to a nice semi matte finish.

★★★★/5 I really like this blue! As you guys know, I am a sucker for a good blue polish but I do love the finish and shade of this one. I don't have anything too similar in my collection and it does look great with all different types of nail art. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes if she's looking for a pretty blue, doesn't own anything like it or is on a budget haul.

I've been so behind on my nail art at the moment, I've got quite a few projects on the go and then there's offline.. So while it is not freehand nail art I am just still glad I get to share polish love with you!

Mermaid Nail Art Collaboration with The Fabulous Dani, IG: Stormysway79

I hope you are all doing great, did you have an exciting weekend? Of course I know some of you are still celebrating July 4^th so I hope you are having a fantastic time, stay safe and have fun!

Today's post has a little gooey warm spot in my heart because I got to collaborate with a really dear friend. I met Dani aka Stormysway79 on IG, around the beginning of the year when I was invited by another naily to join her Facebook page, Tiny Canvas. Dani owns the page and it is a wonderful community with a fantastic friendly vibe.

Dani does a fantastic job at keep the page going, posting optional weekly challenges (there's a new one each week and its not mandatory to enter but the themes are so good they end up giving me new ideas to paint!) Not only that, but Dani is also responsible for creating so many friendships in the nail community and for bringing people together. She works incredibly hard and I am so proud and happy to have met her! She's got a kickass sense of humor too ;)

So when she suggested doing a nail collaboration how could I resist?! Our chosen theme was mermaids, you'll see our inspiration picture below. I am in love with Dani's version! I can't say so much about mine, Haha, I struggled!

 For my version of this nail art I began with my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry applied Claire's 'Splash' (Suitably named for this mani, huh?) From there on I moved onto my acrylics and created a very rough and choppy background using blues and greens. I decided to do my mermaid on my thumb so I could try and fit more detail in... Probably the worst idea ever Because my fingers can't bend the way they need to to join her up.. so she looks a bit drunk!

I'm quite disappointed with how my version came out (this was my second attempt but I am still dealing with the blurry eyes so I will go easy on myself!) I'm so glad I did this collab because Dani is awesome and it was fun to do!

Silver Bling Mixed Rhinestones - Born Pretty Store Review

How are you doing today?! I hope you all have a lovely weekend! I don't have anything too special planned this weekend. Maybe some exercise but I'd love to really get myself in gear, get back to being as organized as I was at the start of the year.

I normally have lists floating around everywhere telling me what post goes up on what day, what I still need to complete, random ideas I have and more.. so I'm going to try and use this week to get it back!

Today I have some really simple but cute little studs to show you from the Born Pretty Store.

Now I know a lot of people will have wheels like this, I know I had clear rhinestones as one of my first pieces of nail art but I just feel like these are slightly prettier.. more like raindrops! These are Silver Bling Mixed Rhinestones.

Punchy Pink Splatter Nail Art

How are you today? Did you have a great weekend? I didn't really get up to much. I did a few manicures but everything just turned out wrong - that seems to be a pattern lately... I need this pattern to end! I want to create amazing things!

Today I have a manicure that was kind of spur of the moment. I didn't really plan it. Have you ever randomly had two colours sat next to each other and then fallen in love with the combination? That basically happened with this pink and blue combo! Neon's in Autumn/Winter?... Why not!

For this manicure I began with my favorite top coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy'. Once dried I applied two coats of Claire's 'Splash' – a very cute shimmery aqua shade. I then added one coat of Essie's 'A Cut Above' which is a lovely pink glitter. Now came the messy part! Using a cut up drinking straw I began to splatter One's #31 across my nails. Once this was dry I added some generic little heart sequins which I coated with Ozotic Sugar's '903'. I finished up by adding a matte top coat.

Cut Up Triangles

How are you doing today? I have a slightly odd looking manicure to share with you today... This is all made up of nail polish (apart from the studs). Let me explain... I had some nail polish which I left to try and peeled off like you would with DIY decals, I then used my craft knife to create triangles of all different sizes and began to stick them on in various ways. It has a 3D look to it but it didn't feel thick to wear.

I began with two coats of Barry M's 'Black' nail polish and and began to stick on my pieces of dried polish. The triangles were made with Barry M's 'Heather' (Purple) Claire's 'Splash' (..Blue) and Barry M's 'White'. The studs were sent to me a long, long time ago to review – which I did but I just thought they would be a cute touch for this manicure.

In hindsight... I should have maybe filed down the edges of my nails to stop any odd bits sticking off the nail – I did use cuticle clippers to trim them, but still.

What do you guys think of these cut up nails? Do you like this purple and blue together?
