far, Happy Valentine's day to you. I've got my final Valentine's day manicure today and I have
stepped up the level of love on my nails. So far you've seen my
anti-valentines manicure..well.. brace yourself for some cute,
please!
Love comes in all shapes and sizes, big
or small, tall or short..scaled or furry. Love is not limited to the
confines of a fish bowl and love is blind to fishy flavoured kitty
snacks... these two are complete opposites but don't they say
opposites attract?

Do you have anything fun planned for
the up coming weekend? My cold is finally on the shift so I am going
to focus hard on crunching some miles and getting my polish stash
organised (its organised but ya know.. there could be more order!)
Earlier nights are also making me feel much better.
Its that time of year again when all
the lovey dovey nail art designs start making their rounds, pink and
red nails covered in hearts and what not.. I do have a trio of
designs aimed at Valentine's day but being a little more on the
anti-valentine side. Ok.. I've got one super cute love-themed one.
I'm saving that one until last!
I actually did this one towards the end
of last year but ended up with so many other seasonal themed nail art
I couldn't post it until now. Look how short and nubby my nails look
here!

I sure hope you guys are doing better
than me, I've done so well not to receive and colds or flu in about a
year, I think. This week.. not so lucky. My niece and nephew came
over for lunch on Sunday and decided to leave Auntie Ithi the awesome
gift of a cold – by Sunday night it was taking hold. Besides that
everything else is going well, I'm still job hunting (there just
isn't much going..) but in the mean time I am working on future posts
so I will have plenty to post when I can start working again.
Today's manicure is one you might not
expect, sometimes I just don't feel like painting freehand – a good
example of that is feeling poorly so I decided a little while ago to
make myself some decals, decals are great for when you want easy nail
art but are short on time as you can make them before and the
application is pretty easy once you've done it a few times.

How are you doing today? I hope you've

the weekend? Today is my birthday! I don't have anything specific planned,
maybe some painting in the morning, family time in the afternoon and
then a family meal in the evening but to be honest..to me that sounds
perfect. I'm not the sort for wild nights out but my family mean the
world to me!

I'm 90% through with hand painting my
third card, 10% through my final fourth Christmas card, I've begun
present wrapping and I feel very well prepared. I'm not the kind of
person to leaves things to the last minute (can't take the stress and
panic!)
Talking of Christmas today I'm kickin'
off the festive nail art, I know you guys have been concerned that I
hadn't posted any yet but don't worry, I got this. Later in the post I also have a little story to tell you, an experience from work last week.

Today I have another design which was
again done while I was in Holland – there's still a few left, wtf!
I painted haaard, didn't I?! I'm also not happy with this one either
but eh.. I liked the concept in my head so I will show you anyway. I
imagine this would be quite a relaxing place to live!

this week and my job interview.. I'm happy to say I had three
interviews lined up and I actually got the first job I interviewed
for, which is the one I wanted the most!
I should start this coming week and I
am so excited. Its not full hours to start with which I think will be
a nice way to settle into things. Did I say I am excited?!
Today's nail art is not one I am too
happy with.. I had time pressure and made a few mistakes but I really
wanted to share something as it was created for Tiny Canvases second
birthday. What's Tiny Canvas? Its a beautiful nail group on Facebook
– seriously, it is the best nail community I've come across,
everyone is so kind, supportive and all the members encourage each
other. I've been a moderator for quite a few months now and it is
such a joy to be apart of. You can join Tiny Canvas right *here*
So here's my 'Happy Birthday' nails for the current prompt.
I'm not sure if these are cupcakes or if there are little kittens
under all that icing. Dang! Now I wish I had included ears!
Coming to a high street near you this
season, stock up on your winter knit wear and cosy apparel. Be ready
to rock the cold and shimmy away those shivers.
All geared up? Not quite. Don't forget
your nails, who needs cold nails this winter?
Baaaha you guys, I had this idea in my
head and I really wanted to make it come true. Before the comments
come in about how disgusting this is I just want to remind you that
this is really more of an extreme 3D nail art, I would never wear
this on a daily basis or for casual wear! I wanted to create
something that was simply interesting to look at.
This survived on my nails for all of 10 minutes. I hated the feel
of it! Even my cat gave me a disappointing look upon inspection!

paint a really simple duck..Yes a duck. Because you know you've

Ahem. I've been messing around with my filming set up and I am hoping
to film more of my nail art in action. I am still struggling with
positions – the main issue being.. How can I see what I am doing so
that you can also see what I'm doing? I'll get there. There may be a
few not so interesting video's while I get to grips with it all!

I attempted to film a nail art video
yesterday and I'm still feeling the hand cramp. I am just not good at
trying to paint with my hand in unusual positions although the way I do paint is probably not how everyone else does it. I think managed to
get some shots in focus though so fingers crossed I'll be able to post those
soon. It's all practice, I guess! I've a new tripod on the way!
I also finally decided to stop bugging
myself and buy a damn desk lamp. It's getting darker earlier and
earlier here in England, on a gloomy day its becoming harder to
paint. Night time painting isn't even an option. So now I can actually paint whenever I want! - what an
exciting life I lead, haha.
Today's nail art is actually a couple
days out since I had to rearrange my blog posts but on the 15th
September it was 'International Dot Day'. Yeah, really, its a thang.
I love finding out about all these wacky and unique days.
Anyway, I figured dots are something
most people can do on their nails so I decided to incorporate it in
to the Tiny Canvas weekly challenge for this month (I've been taking
care of the theme for a couple months, its fun!) I love to join in
with the members and do a design for each theme too so here is my
dotty manicure. Somehow I feel like this looks rather sophisticated
for someone like myself. Like... I'm used to colourful children-book
nails.. It feels weird seeing such a uniform design on my nails!

had an awesome week and an even better weekend planned :) After a full and eventful week of more babysitting which included some Disney films (Homeward Bound 1 & 2, The Rescuers Down Under) Some lovely nature walks, Playing in the park and lots of duck feeding I am welcoming the weekend. It's lovely to spend so much time with my Niece but I need a recharge!
I feel like I have not painted in forever, so my goal this morning is to get a new design done.

Today's nail art is another summer
design. Quick cram them in before I can no longer call it summer!
This one is quite odd but I am glad I did it – its 'a lot to look
at' but I think it looks kinda cool!

Yesterday I had a blood test – the
first since the doctor said I am pre-diabetic..But I wont get the
results until next Tuesday. It's going to be a mission to not worry
about it until then but I know any worrying wont change the results.
I just have to keep positive in knowing I've made so many lifestyle
changes. I've also been looking into how to start my career
in the nail industry. although I feel like everything I
research contradicts..I'm so lost over it but I wont give up.
Today I have a review for you from URSugar, a store which I have no previous experience with. I decided to
try another of those gel posts since I really enjoyed the last one,
and am still pretty new to applying them. I thought this would be a
great product to review and see if it lived up to the previous one I
had tried. This is 'UR Sugar Color Coat UV & Gel Polish in#D012'.

Today's manicure comes
straight from my brain and onto my nails! I didn't know if this idea
existed so I wanted to give it a go. I'm calling it... ”The
French-Doodle”.. or the Froodle??!
What is it, I hear you
asking. Well its a typical looking French manicure transformed by the
whimsical and artistic touch of doodles! Tada! Hashtag #TRENDING
- Probably not but isn't it an unusual design?
For this manicure I
used only my OPI Nail Envy base coat, Catrice's 'Karl Says Tres Chic'
pink nail polish and my acrylic paints. This one was so fun to do, I
didn't have any plans for the doodle part of the design. In hindsight
I wish I had added a whole arrange of items into the doodles but
hey... I can do that another time!
What do you

this already have a name?

How are you all doing
today? I hope you are having a great week so far? My days are SO
mixed up, Monday was a national holiday here in Holland so Monday
felt like a Sunday and every day since feels 'off'. Do you ever get
that?
Today I have another
review for you.. I feel like you guys might not like seeing my review
posts as much so I am going to try and be really selective on what I
show you from now on; I know seeing similar products can get a bit
brain-nulling and while I blog for my own happies I also of course
really care what you guys think!
Hats, bra's and
toupee's off to you, ya genius stampers out there! I have always
enjoyed seeing well stamped manicures and hold so much admiration for
those who can make such beautifully neat designs. I am not a natural
stamper.. and it does not come easy for me, even pairing images and
colours I struggle with... so I truly admire your skills!!
You'll notice on my
middle finger I sort of cut out the 'bad dog, police dept' on the
decal.. I'm not sure what happened to it.. but it went bye-bye's :'(
The polishes I used this time were Born Pretty Stores 'Together Forever' holographic polish, Born Pretty Store's Black stamping polish and Essie's 'Splash of Grenadine'.
Lets move onto the
plate, shall we? This plate has some beautiful full animal patterns
which is what really drew me to it, my favourite has to be the dog
pattern I used and also the elephants, cats, dolphins.. Actually MOST
of them. I also like that this plate comes with some singular smaller
animals which is probably ideal for the stamping geniuses of the
world who can mix and match patterns and designs together (I am not
even going to attempt that!)
I also liked that there
was a few of these designs which work really well with reverse
stamping an
d that was what I wanted to try most. Overall I think this
plate is a great addition to a stamping addicts collection.

How are you today, I
hope your weekend is taking a fabulous start. Do you have anything

All the guys are out at
a darts game today so the house will be nice and quiet, I always take
advantage of this time to get things done around the house and of
course some nail art time.
I'm also really looking
forward to working out today as I had to have a rest day yesterday which left me feeling lazy and fidgety all day!

I've been keeping very active and super busy since I got back in the Netherlands, my step count has been around the 15k mark each day which makes me happy.
Today's nail art
probably doesn't need any fanning. The theme for the weekly challenge
over at Tiny Canvas this week is Penguins.
I'm not quite sure
where the idea came from but I really wanted to paint some plump
little chicks in barbershop quartet outfits! So thats what I do'ed.
Yes I said Do'ed. Sadly I sorta rushed these as they were my last nail art while I was in England.
For this manicure I
began with my OPI Nail Envy base coat and once dry applied two coats
of Maybelline's 'Dusty Rose' which came in a 'blush' duo my mum
spoilt me with. I added a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat to create a
nice smooth barrier and began to move onto my freehand, creating
white egg shapes to form the bodies of my penguins. Next I added all
the details using my fave 'WhatsUp Nails' brush.
If I am entirely honest
this manicure was a little rushed.. I think that's pretty obvious. I was
excited to go spend time with my family so for that reason we'll
overlook the sloppiness. Family First!
Because there were only
four penguins I decided to add some musical notes on top because..
what else? I debated fish but I thought that would be too reminiscent
of my first penguin nail art.

today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend? Did you get up to anything

Me and my sister took the children to a big play park that looks like a pirate ship on Saturday, the weather has been beautiful - it feels like summer is already here! Sunday was pretty dandy too, I got to have one of my Skeebab's (Mum) roast dinner followed by a nice walk in the sunshine and later on I did some painting.
Today's nail art is another manicure
inspired by another weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas! This week our theme is
elephants since April 16th is 'Save the elephants day' and
rightly so! These beautiful creatures have enough to endure without
poachers and hunters.
For this manicure I
decided to honour one of my most favourite elephants, Lumpy the
Heffalump from Winnie The Pooh. I included a clip in case you've
never seen Lumpy before, he is AH-dorable!
The polishes I used for
this manicure are Barry M's 'Kiss Me Quick' from the quick dry range
'and Rimmel's 'Peachella'. I wasn't really sure what to pair with my
Heffalump so I created some sort of scruffy looking flowers.. er. I
finished it all off with my Barry M Matte top coat.
If you guys are
noticing my pictures may be looking a little different to usual I do
apologise. I've just been gifted a new DLSR and I have little to no
experience with this type of camera – I'm also still in England so
I don't have my usual photography set up. I am excited to try the
camera with my set up at home!

I'm sick again! As your reading this I am either scooting along on my bicycle to go cleaning or I am wrapped up in bed too worse for wear.
Today I have a manicure
that was almost saved for Valentine's Day however it just so happens
the theme prompt for the weekly Tiny Canvas challenge was paisley
nail art so.. err... how convenient for me!
These nails were
actually created in December (hence the length) and I kept holding
them back as I wasn't sure if I liked them enough to post... But I
guess the heart and diamond stud look sort of.. interesting so
I'll see what you guys think!
Tip 'O The Day! For
my paisley print I used some old water decals I had left over from a
previous manicure. I always keep my decal and
sticker scraps because sometimes, even if its not a full set you can
reuse a single decal for an accent nail that finishes a manicure off
perfectly! Waste not, want not.
For my base for the water decals I used Mezmris Nail Lacquer's 'Armor Up' base coat and followed through with Barry M's 'White' in two thin coats. I then used Mezmris Nail Lacqer's top coat, 'Armor' to seal everything in.
For
my accent nail I used two different types of studs/3Dembellishments
on top of Catrice's 'Call Me Princess' from the Crushed Crystal's

Its
not the typical type of manicure I enjoy but I think it has something
to it, the heart and diamond combination make me think of
engagements! No idea why! Studs like these I can't resist picking off
soon after pictures, but I keep them and reuse them for special
occasions!
