Freehand Pumpkin Weenie Halloween Nail Art

How're you all doing today? I hope you had an awesome weekend?

As you guys know I've been away for this past weekend and it was awesome, although I'm still not back yet so I'll give you more details and possibly pictures in my next post. (sound good?)

For today though I am rolling out the first of my Halloween nail art designs. I've three to show you in total but I'm saving the best until last! This ones pretty simple but I wanted to create something cute. Here's my Pumpkin Weenie!

Greyscale peacock

Hi everyone!

How are you all doing today? Today I have another manicure which was created TWICE. Twice! And I still didn't like the outcome!  (That's nothing... what is on my nails right now is the 4th attempt...What's wrong with me?!) Basically, I did my peacock lady just too dark, so her sparkly little head thingy-plumes didn't glisten and sparkle as I had hoped – same happened with the eye....*Total face palm in the most dramatic way*

I'm having terrible nail luck lately. Hopefully by the time I post this it has improved. I sure hope so because I find it so disheartening to keep creating things that don't make me happy or satisfied.

For this manicure I began my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and followed on with two coats of Barry M's 'White'. Next I created my peacock and feathers using only black and white acrylic paints and filled in certain parts with nail polishes. For the feathers I used a mixture of Hema's 'Green circus', Pretty Serious's 'Crystal lake' glitter and Model's Own 'Gold Rush'.

Its not.. really what I wanted. I hate it when that happens. Maybe you guys like it better than I do? I can only hope!

Freehand Crisp Autumn Leaves

How are you today? I hope your having a good day; Is the weather nice where you are or is it beginning to get colder? Today I had another one of my long fast-paced walks (The Dutch people look at me like I'm crazy, maybe its because I'm now wearing ankle weights at the same time!) and I was able to stomp on some crunchy autumn leaves, that's the first time this year! Surprisingly its still really warm here though. I had wanted to do some Autumn nails for the past couple of weeks but I just couldn't get it how I wanted it... I'm ashamed to say this isn't the end result I wanted and perhaps with limited time I was a little rushed ~ sad face. Anyway, I will let you judge for yourselves...

I applied two coats of different polish to each nail, from thumb to pinkie I used Barry M's 'Mustard', Model's Own 'Gold Rush' (which for some reason this bubbled like a demon) Dorothy L's '98', Pretty Serious 'Elm Street' and finally Dorothy L's '131' ~ An assortment of what I thought were autumn-type shades (or at least what I imagine when I think of those crisp crunchy leaves. I then used my Oumaxi Paints to create some green, gold, yellow and orange leaves. I finished this all off with some simple gems and applied OPI's matte top coat.

I wish I had spent more time on the leaves, getting the colours blended better and perhaps even better shapes, I also wish that Gold Rush hadn't bubbled the way it did. With A Splashy Of Her Tail, I Saw Her Mermaid-y Scales!

The beach was deserted as she strolled along the white sandy beach. It was 6.30pm and the tourists had cleared off leaving the idyllic spot all for herself. She stopped by one of the deckchairs and removed her clothing down to her swim suit. She was glad for the calm and silence as she made her way to the waters edge. The water was glorious, like a tepid warm bath as she began to wade in deeper. She let herself fall back into the water and floated on her back for a while losing herself in tranquilly... ”Oi, You there!” called a shrill but happy voice. Huh, she thought the beach had been deserted...”Over here!” With the shimmer of a scaley tail she could see now who had been calling out. A beautiful young woman with the tail of a fish that gleamed and glistened in the evening sun. Her coral coloured hair splayed beautifully all around her in the water. Stunned, she blinked her eyes not sure if what she was seeing could even be true. ”Nice to meet you, my name is Ethal!” she said reaching for a handshake. “H..Hello..My name is Ithi. Are you... Can it be true that - ..Are you a mermaid?!" she replied still in disbelief. ”Well I don't gots no feets, that's for sure.” replied Ethal in an unusual manner. ”I have to go now, My girlfriends and I are going shoe shopping at the water outlet...its the best mall undersea. I'd hate to keep them waiting! Maybe I will see you again sometime!” and with a splash of her tail, she ducked under water and she watched as the beautiful glittery scales faded out of sight and deep into the sea.

”Ok, It was nice to meet y-...wait, what? Shoe shopping?... But you...You don't gots no feets..I mean..You do not have any feet.. But you have a tail...shoes? Whut..." she called out in disbelief but the mermaid had already gone.

For this manicure I started with two coats of Zoya's 'Charla' on my thumb, index and pinkie fingers. I then used tape to add Essie's 'Mezermised' and once dried I stamped using Barry M's 'Silver Foil with MoYouNail's 128 plate. To finish these nails I added Fogan's '17' to the tips. On my middle and ring finger I used two coats of Barry M's 'Mist' and created a ruffian nail using Pretty Serious 'Crystal lake and topped it all of with some blue gems.

Pretty Serious: Haddonfield Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

How are you doing today? Hows your week starting out? It feels like the days are passing so quickly. I'm in full productive mode right now trying to get things ready for England. I have to work out a small limited amount of nail polish and items to take with me for posting while I am there. My ideas can be so spur of the moment so I am dreading coming up with a great idea and not having the supplies for it! For today I thought we'd take a look at Pretty Serious 'Haddonfield' which is part of the Killer Fangirls collection and inspired by the Halloween horror movies.

The Artwork That Accompanies Haddonfield

 Colour ~ Haddonfield is a beautiful orange based jelly filled with mixed size pieces of black glitter shards and orange glitter. If I have to describe the type of orange that Haddonfield shows I would have to scream pumpkin! I am showing this with two coats and no base colour underneath. When I move my hand in the light I see beautiful bold flecks of sun-lit orange-gingery goodness.

Application ~ Incredibly smooth. Just like Crystal lake, the glitter within the bottle is so generous that you won't need to fish for hours to get good coverage. I was dubious about how Haddonfield would play when it came to dry time but it was actually really fast!

Texture ~ As you may expect with some glitters it can feel a little bit gritty but with a good loving amount of top coat you can get it perfectly smooth and super glossy.

★★★★/5 If I borrowed this from a friend would I go and buy myself a bottle?

Yes, while I am not the biggest orange fan in the entire world I do really like Haddonfield, there are so many unique qualities about this polish. Whether it be the gleaming beauty when caught in the light or the unique shades of glitter that make me think of spiced pumpkins..

Pretty Serious: Crystal Lake Swatch & Review ★★★★★/5

Happy Thursday to you all and of course Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating today, have a wonderful and safe holiday with the people you love and stuff yourselves full of turkey! :) A month or two ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway competition hosted by the fabulous nail polish company Pretty Serious. I was so excited to win and I was so lucky to win the Killer Fan Girls Set (This year's Halloween collection which is based on horror movies)

So I have decided to show you the first polish which I was desperately itching to try: Crystal Lake and I have photographed its accompanying art which was created and signed by artist Leigh Young.

Crystal lake is based on the Friday The 13^th horror movies

Colour ~ Crystal Lake is a beautiful light blue based polish laced and dazzled with chilling intense blue glitter. The base colour is strong enough to cover nails in just two coats and gives a gorgeous cool blue while the glitter adds darker blue glitter and hints of silver. It really lives up to its name.

Application ~ Great, I had no troubles at all. The constancy of the glitter is just perfect which means I had no trouble covering my whole nail or having to fish for glitter. Even the dry time was great! I also found the brush to be perfect for the job.

Texture ~ The texture as I mentioned makes for an easy application process and once I had applied my top coat I was pretty happy that my nails still felt pretty smooth despite how much sparkle and bling I had going on there.

★★★★★/5 If I borrowed this from a friend would I go and buy myself a bottle? YES, yes and yes! Sure I have some blue glitters but I certainly did not have anything like this in my collection!
