On Thursday my store hosted a beauty gala event which was so much fun, We had loads of people come in with their tickets and enjoy make overs, refreshments, discounts across cosmetics and fragrance. It was so much fun to be apart of.

Did you know that June 12^th is red rose day? I love discovering all these little quirky days of the year! June 12^th just so happens to be my mothers birthday too so putting the two together seemed like an awesome idea and little tribute.

I absolutely adore my mother, I know everyone says that but without her I wouldn't be here (and not just because she gave me life!) She's supported me through the years in every way possible, through my teenage years when I suffered deep depression and self harm, she never lots her patience with me. She's encouraged me and nurtured my creative side and is one of the kindest people I know. She'll always go out of her way for people and has a wonderful heart. Thank you Skeebab.

Spring Piggy

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an amazing week – tell me your highlight from this week. Today I am off to work but I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

This will be my last weekend at home as I have agreed to work Sundays. Its all day but its extra hours which is good. I'll also be pretty much on my own in the fragrance department and apparently they wanted me to do it as they know that I know my stuff. Quite flattering.

Because of this I have decided to cut my posts down to twice a week. I want to be as organised and as well planned as always so I feel that changing my post days will help me achieve that and keep the blog flowing as well as it has been (obviously more hours = less painting time but I feel I can keep up if I switch it a bit) My new posting days will be Monday and Thursday which will start next week and into the beginning month.

Today's nail art is summoning up all the visions of spring one could possibly want – where did our sun go by the way?! Look at this little piggy enjoying a nice mud bath! He looks pretty happy, don't you think?

How are ya all doing? I hope you've had a fantastic week – are you excited for the weekend? Its Easter weekend and while I don't have a lot planned (working a short shift today) I am looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch with my family.

Also.. Tomorrow I have a job interview. Since my current employment is temporary (or is it?) I decided I'll go and see how it goes. I'd love to stay on where I am currently but I feel like I can't pin all my hopes on it after last time.

How are you all doing on this fabulous Friday?Are you glad that the week is drawing to an end? I'm working today and tomorrow but I am quite happy about that, I like where I'm working even if it is only temporary. I guess I forgot to mention that going back has been really nice – I was greeted with hugs and happy faces, it was almost like I hadn't been gone for two months.

Today's nail art is encouraging you to have some lovely and relaxing vibes with a freehand zen garden. I had big hopes for this nail art but the end result.. hrrm. Not quite what I was picturing. I seem to be going through one of those awkward unsatisfied phases again. Yay..

How are you all doing today? I hope you've had a fantastic weekend, are you ready for a new fantastic week to start? Abit of good news, I am attending a job interview this afternoon, fingers crossed for me please, I'd really like to work at this place!

Today's nail art is another one from last year (told you I schedule my blogs insanely!) I know I keep mentioning my stubby nubby nubbin nails but these do look really short compared to what I am used to! These do fit in with the current theme over at Tiny Canvas which is daisies.

I've also added a tutorial video below on how I paint this style of flowers. I find them quite relaxing to paint - roses on the other hand, argh! Frustration city!

Goooood morning to you all! Or afternoon.. or evening, depending on where you are and when you are reading this. I hope you had a fantastic weekend? I had a fairly quiet one again but we did go out for dinner on Saturday evening. It was ok - but when you are eating the parts of steak you can eat and complimenting the salad leaves above everything else that's kinda saying something!

Today I have a double whammy, two product reviews in one post. These items came from BeautyBigBang.com and they are 'Nail Dried Flower Decoration' and 'Silver Nail Dust Nail Glitter Powder' - item no.  . I decided to pair these with something a little more subtle..

 

Freehand Windmill Nail Art

How are you today? I hope you all had a fantastic, fun and productive week?

I wont say too much about what's going on here (yet) but I know the end of the month is going to be really stressful and hectic so I am just going to enjoy the weekend and relax as much as possible.

Today I have some nail art that I've been holding off posting for months. Not for any particular reason, every time I was about to post it review items would arrive or I needed to swap posts around for the weekly challenges on Tiny Canvas. I honestly think I may have painted these in.. March? Jeez! Anyway.. I'll stop talking before its another month until you see it! 

In some ways you could say this is a little tribute to Holland. This country and its people have treated me well since I moved here and it will ever hold a little piece of my heart. Its a beautiful country and I am glad I got to see and live in it.

For this manicure I began with my usual OPI Nail Envy base coat and once dry applied two coats of my Barry M 'White' nail polish.
I again allowed it to dry before applying a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat and swiftly moved on with my freehand design.

I created an acrylic-gradient using my fave brushes and yellow and blue shades which I think gives it a really sort of.. warm summers morning hazy look, don't you think? I finished off with a coat of my Pro-FX top coat and finally my Barry M matte top coat.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. I also love the touch of glitter on the grass! Its subtle but I like it.

On another note, something that happened which is kinda cool.. scra2ch featured me on Facebook!

Freehand Sleepy Little Fairy Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a great weekend, did you do anything fun? We had family over for fathers day and the sun was ba-ba-beating! All in all it was a good weekend.

In case you guys may have noticed.. I sorta played around with the blog theme again. I'm honestly not too sure if it'll stick, I really like certain parts but not others. Let me know if you like it, or have any trouble with it. Your opinion is important to me :)

Today's nail art was inspired for the weekly challenge over on Tiny Canvas. This week's prompt is fairy nail art – this is not my first fairy, you can see my last two here: The Fairy Village and The Butterfly Fairy (Now I look at this and shudder!)

I'm currently like...200?+ polishes out. Acrylics are also missing from my stash.. I'll explain another time but basically during this period my painting collection is minimal.

Look at my little fairy! I think she is tired for all her fairy duties – who said being a fairy is easy work? Shall we give her a name? Nousha.. Nousha the sleepy fairy :)

I had hoped for more shades of greens in this manicure but as I mentioned I am really limited on what I actually have available right now. Still – with some acrylics comes the joys of colour mixing. I feel like with acrylic art the possibilities are endless.

The dark green polish I used is China Glaze's 'Well Trained' which was gifted to me by a very dear friend. I think it works beautifully as a forest floor. I also used my OPI Nail Envy and my PRO-fx top coat. I finished off with my Barry M Matte top coat.

Skull/Floral Rose Water Decals - BeautyBigBang Review

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend :)

Mine was a very quiet one but I got a lot of house work done, found time to work out (weekends tends to turn that upside down) and got myself nice and organised.

Today I have another review for you, I'll be showing you some Skull/Floral Rose Nail Water Decals from BeautyBigBang.com.

I'm just gonna say... out of all the water decal designs I've ever tried, these probably fall into my top 5!

These water decals come in a typical 10x pattern sheet and contain mixed rose and skull patterns. I personally love this design and I was excited to see if they looked as good in person and they totally did, the designs are very clear and crisp. I love the rock/chic vibe that these have and think they could look so cute paired with spiky studs or studded accent nails! I decided to wear each one though just to show you how they looked.

If you've seen me review decals before you'll know that occasionally I'll come across some that are just not wide enough for my thumb nail however I was pleasantly surprised with these!

They are the solid types of decal (white background instead of sheer) so they applied nicely on top of my Barry M White nail polish – which in all honesty was very streaky as I am getting quite low!

I also tried these decals with a scattered holo by applying Polish Me, Royalty's 'Unicornicopia' which looked stunning! However I sort of messed them up while walking Luna before I could get into the sun so I don't have any decent outdoor sunlight pictures to share. I'm sorry!

Overall though I love these decals and think they are SO wearable, wouldn't these be so cute for festival season? Even if you don't feel brave enough to skull-out on every nail they would make badass accents!

Chic Flower Water Decals - Born Pretty Store Review

How are you today, I hope your weekend is taking a fabulous start. Do you have anything nice planned?

All the guys are out at a darts game today so the house will be nice and quiet, I always take advantage of this time to get things done around the house and of course some nail art time.

I'm also really looking forward to working out today as I had to have a rest day yesterday which left me feeling lazy and fidgety all day!

Freehand Little Red Riding Hood Nail Art

I'm back in Holland! I had a great time at home although I did find out I am pre-diabetic which was..well. Quite a shock, however on the plus side finding out this now is a good thing as I can totally make changes to reverse this.

I'm actually really happy with the nail art I am going to share with you today. I had had this idea in my mind for a couple of years but I kept putting it off as I didn't think I do my idea justice.. well. It was time to come back to it and give it a fair go!

I wanted to create a very dark looking version of the Little Red Riding Hood; I don't think she has any idea he's slinking along behind her, do you?

I used OPI's Nail Envy for my base coat and applied two smooth coats of Barry M's 'White' nail polish for my painting canvas. I added a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat as a nice anchor for my acrylic to stick to.

For this manicure I played heavily with black and white acrylic paint, doing my best to mix all the shades of grey in between to create strong contrasts. Of course I needed a few flecks of red here and there.

I don't think my wolf looks particularly scary but he is pretty big, I think i'd have a fright if I turned around and saw him following me. He's pretty fluffy though so I'd probably try and hug him!

Freehand 'Chillax' Floral & Butterfly Nail Art On Mirror Chrome

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic week and have lots of great things to look forward to this weekend? I've had so much time to catch up with my Niece, Nephew and my other family members. Today I am going to a big play park with them that looks like a pirate ship!

Today's nail art contains mirror chrome powder, thanks to a very dear and talented friend who sent it for me to try out! This is some what of a miracle because I just could not get it right. Then I discovered I was not supposed to use the sort of gel top coat that needs to be wiped – which is all I had. Due to using the wrong top coat I didn't achieve the full mirror effect.

I still don't have the proper top coat but somehow these came out 'ok-ish' which... with the wrong products.. how!? But OK, It'll do for now!

So I began this manicure by applying my OPI Nail Envy Base and once dry used my Catrice Black Noir Creme polish. I then applied the chrome powder and cured it under my gel lamp for around 30 seconds.

I then removed the tacky layer and created my freehand on top using my acrylic paints – while my mirror isn't perfect I do love how much of an interesting base it created for nail art! I don't think this is one of the best manicure's I've ever created but it was fun to try something new. Once I get the top coat I need I'll be trying it again!

Lovely Lady Nail Art Water Decals - Born Pretty Store Review.

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a great weekend and start to the week.

I've been having that weird sinking feeling again, I feel like there is so much I need to do in the next couple weeks and the pressure I am putting on myself is really disrupting my freehand nail art.

I am rushing things and hating my end results, argh!

Today I am showing you a manicure that I think is really cute, these water decals come from the Born Pretty Store and are described as '1 Sheet Girl Nail ArtWater Decals Lovely Lady Nail Manicure Transfer Stickers' – always such long names.. These are in style C211.

First of all I have to tell you that when I made the decision between the C211 and the C210 style's I had such a hard time choosing. I mean.. the other one has a deer on it! A deer! But I really loved the style of these 'lovely ladies'. I used to be really into my anime and manga and I still do appreciate the art style of Japanese art. If your telling me I can get anime on my nails.. in under 15 mins? YES PLEASE.

Freehand Rememberance Poppies

I hope you guys had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend!

You may or may not know but tomorrow is Rememberance day in England and while I am not in the country is it still something I still strongly believe in. I will have a one minute silence by myself tomorrow in a quite place.

 Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy day is on the 11^th hour, am, on the 11^th day of the 11^th month we pay tribute to our fallen soldiers from World War I and all those who lost their lives on the the line of duty wherever the battle field may be.

Since 1921 it has become respectable to wear a poppy pinned to your shirt/jacket in a mark of respect for those lives lost. Originally in 1921 people would wear real poppies, this is because Poppies grew through out the battlefields of Flanders; Their bright and vibrant colour became a symbol for the blood lost during the war. It is with deep respect that my generation and others have the freedom and lives we do.

For this manicure I bagan by applying Mezmris Nail Lacquer's 'Armor Up' base coat and once dry applied two thin coats of Barry M's 'Blackberry. I allowed to dry and then added a layer of Pro-FX's top coat. I used my favourite brushes to paint the poppies and added a little gold detailing. On my other nails I added a simple gold triangle stud from The Born Pretty Store (You can see my review on these HERE) I finished it all off by adding another layer or top coat and finally m Wet 'n' Wild matte top coat.

I'm not very good at painting flowers but I really wanted to do this manicure because it has so much love and respect behind it.

Freehand Butterflies & Flowers - The Garden Fence

How are you doing today? I hope you are doing awesome, do you have anything nice planned for this weekend? It is of couse Father's day tomorrow so I am wondering if it is going to be a full house here. I also had great news and can hopefully get my tickets back home to England booked in the next few days – yay! Everything seems pretty good right now, I hope it is the same for you! 

I also just want to say thank you to those of you who take time to come to my blog, who follow me on social media and generally support what I do - you guys are all so awesome and while blogging is my hobby and I enjoy it, you certainly take it to higher highs. 

Today I have some fairly summery nail art for you! I am not sure about this nail art though, do you think I should have gone for more? More flowers... more butterflies? I'm not sure. I did plan to do roses but backed out.

For this manicure I began with my usual base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' and one dry applied two coats of NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage' for a nice starting base. I then created everything else with my fave acrylic paints and brushes. I sealed everything with my Pro-FX top coat.. and just because I was curious applied Catrice's 'Matte & More' which gave it an interesting shimmer.

Can you believe I can not just buy a regular matte top coat anywhere around here?! I like the 'Matte & More' but the shimmer doesn't suit everything :/

How are you all doing today? I hope you are having a fabulous weekend so far! I can't say too much of mine, its consisted of a lot of green tea going on my sore eye to help make it better – I am undergoing a really strict eye routine right now. I wake up and cleanse my eyes with baby shampoo and hot water. I'm doing hot green tea compresses and salt water many times through the day. My eyes have been giving me hell for too long so I am really on an attack mission with all these natural ways because the doctors both here and in Holland have been hopeless! Fingers cross I am better next week and can do more freehand nail art.

Nicole Diary Water Decal Review Part 5 [Final]

How are you all doing today? Are you having a great week so far? I feel like I have nothing much to tell you... I'm just concerned with how fast these weeks are flying by. I've still not got any tickets booked to go home because I have to try and work out when I will be able to get to the airport or if anyone will be available (basically just waiting, which drives me crazy)... I don't really want to leave going home any longer. I've not seen my Niece and Nephew since January.. argh.

On a happier note.. Today I've got my final review for Nicole Diary water decals. Can you believe that these two mean that I have reviewed a total of 10 decals?! I have to say also these do not disappoint any more than the rest – I love them just as much!

The first decals I have for you are 'Nicole Diary – 06', these are beautiful, bright and bold water decals with a full pattern. The pattern features hearts, different shapes, dots and circles and more. I really love this pattern however it may be a little too full on for those who love subtle nail art – for that reason I would totally say it would be awesome as a ring finger accent paired with beautiful corresponding nail polishes. I decided to wear them on all my nails! Because that's me! I also added a layer of Catrice's 'Matte & More' which gave it a really beautiful subtle sheen – it also tamed down the pattern a little and made it less bold.

Our second set of decals for today are these stunning floral patterned decals, these are 'Nicole Diary – 30'. This is such a gorgeous pattern and very different from the first, the pattern contains dainty and elegant looking flowers in blue, navy and orange. Personally I think this is such a gorgeous design for the summer months. Can you imagine these over some sparkle? (why didn't I do that?!) I paired mine very randomly – confession – it was really late and really hot and I'd applied my decals and fallen in love with them but my inspiration for an accent nail was failing me. So I used a brush to create a sort of textured look..and stuck a sugar stud on... I guess we can say its..'different'.

The remaining parts of this decal will totally be going on my toes with glitter underneath – oh yeah!

Conclusion: After having tried 10 different sets I am really, truly and honestly very impressed. I love the creative and unique patterns (they've all been so different!) and I love their ease of application. I had less trouble with these decals than others I have done in the past. I really rate them.
