Deconstructed Flag / Red Vs Blue - DIY Decals

Allo polish Pals!

How are you today?

I made a HUGE MISTAKE!! You guys were not supposed to ever see this post, I basically put the same date on a couple of posts and had planned to allocate proper dates to my blogging schedule... and then I forgot. In the end I didn't like this manicure and had planned to change the pictures to another manicure I had created... so you got two posts in one day and now I will be frantically trying to replace nail art to keep my posts upto date. Haha.... Opps. I'm human ;)

Today's manicure is another DIY decal creation. I know my colour combination is pretty in your face... I couldn't decide what it reminded me of more – Superman Vs Spiderman or Cold Vs Hot.

Take Me Down To London Town - Freehand

Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? Tell me one random thing about your day! Well happy mid week to you all, I hope your week has been going great. Today I have a manicure I actually created while still in England (I pumped out a few!) once again inspired by *this pin* on Pinterest! I really wanted to create this on my nails so I took on the challenge!! It also helps that I really love London. I lived there for a month (can you call a month living somewhere?) while I did my make up training and had such a good time. I've also got to visit London many times, with college to go see the Tate Museum and when I was younger me and my family had a few short breaks there.

I'm really not very happy with how this manicure turned out. This could be so much better. I particularly hate the red bus - it was the last thing I did on this manicure and maybe my moral was down... Anyhoo! I dunno, I like seeing what you guys think of my stuff because sometimes I am just too critical. I just think there are too many wobbly lines.. I was really happy with it until I saw the pictures, ugh. That's just the worst!

For this manicure I began two coats of Sinful Colors 'Easy Going' and created a gradient using Rimmel's 'Bestival Blue'. Everything else was created using my Oumaxi paints and my bamboo brush. I smoothed it all out with my Catrice top coat.

What do you think of my London nails? Have you created location nails before, what location did you do?

Have a beautiful day!

Next weekend we fly back to Holland. Today I am showing you some nail foils (in c-09) from The Born Pretty Store. I actually purchased these myself at the beginning of the year and if I am honest, I was scared to use them; I had a few attempts and it didn't go too well but I am so happy with this manicure! If I had to wait to show them to you then I am glad because this turned out way better then my previous attempts!

Sinful Colors: I'm So Nude Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

Allo polish Pals!
Happy weekend to you all, do you have any nice plans? Today is party day in this house, celebrating the birthday of my Dutch mother-in-law and sister-in-law so the house will be full. So today to give myself a little break (and less panicking to get some nails finished) I have a swatch I did ages ago – Look, even my old nail shape! So excuse how different my nails look here.
This is 'I'm So Nude' by Sinful Colors.

Colour ~ 'I'm So Nude', as the name suggests is a gorgeous creamy nude with a slight peachy tint. It has made its appearance on the blog a few times as it is a great base colour for nail art.

Application ~ I had no real issues with applying this polish however it is quite thick/creamy so be aware of how much polish you have on your brush. It is easy to end up with too much and having a very thick looking nail. If you keep this in mind you can end up with a beautiful manicure and a very flawless finish. Dry time is not too bad either.

Texture ~ This is a crème and is pretty workable with application.

★★★★/5 I really like this as a full opaque nude polish. If you want something more natural I would suggest trying China Glaze's 'Nude'. For girls like me who want a nude looking polish but have stained nails this is a brilliant choice. I actually love how it looks on my nails.

Do you have an all time favorite nude nail polish? What do you think about this shade from Sinful colours?

Have a great weekend my friends!

Nude Sparkle Meets Black & White

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? Sorry for my short absence, I'd like to say I am all settled back in to my Holland life but I'm just not. The puppy grew a lot in five weeks, she's gorgeous. The only sucky thing for me is that even though she has a huge sleeping pillow in our room she is jumping on me all through-out the night so I am so exhausted... I have for you today a manicure I did while I was still in England – excuse the bumps on my nails, I still had my nail rehab tea bags on!

This manicure looks so terrible, I know. But I'm in such a mani-mojo-lacking position right now...And I still wanted to share something with you guys. For this manicure I used only a few polishes, Barry M's 'Matte White', Yes Love's 'Black', Sinful Colors 'Nude' and finally OPI's 'Snowflakes In the Air'. I finished off with a heart, a simple cloud design as acrylic borders.

What do you think of this mix-match manicure? How do you feel about cloud designs?

Have a great evening, Hopeully I'll have something more interesting to show you soon!

Sinful Colors: Dancing Nails Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

Allo polish Pals!

How are you today? I hope you are doing better than me! My immune system seems to be on va-caycay (er... vacation) at the moment. Not to mention that having a cold/ flu right now is extra bad timing what with traveling to England on Saturday. Come on, body! Pull yourself together! Do you do anything to help get over colds faster? I'd love to know if you have any special tips or home remedies.
Now. Lets got onto the pretty, shall we? Today I have a swatch and review for you of Sinful Color's 'Dancing Nails'.

Colour ~ Dancing Nails is a pretty metallic rosy pink that often leans more towards red in low light. I would even say sometimes it can appear to have a more coral tint.

Application ~ Superb application, with amazing dry time. I had no issues with bubbling however due to its metallic finish you may see brush strokes but its certainly not the most visible I've ever seen with a polish and I think it is hardly noticeable.

Texture ~ This polish is quite on the watery side and dries in very thin layers which means it is ideal for building up coats if need be.

★★★★/5 I like dancing nails. I think it is quite charming. I don't know if its a real 'me' shade but it is unlike anything in my small collection of red/pink polishes. I think if you, like me, have less of these colours then this polish could sit quite nicely amongst them. I'd also say it would make a great polish for someone who wants to wear red but is a little shy of the colour. Also don't forget that amazing dry time – a real bonus.

What do you think of this shade, would it entice you if you saw it in a store? Do you own any polishes from Sinful Colors?

Have a great day!

Glitzy Rainbows

Allo polish Pals!
Hope you are having a lovely day so far? I'm in one of those frantic painting modes, there is nail polish everywhere as I am panicking to create posts for while I am in England (Not long now!) but today I thought I would continue with the brightening of moods while the weather is gloomy, so lets have some rainbows, shall we? This was one of my ideas the other night as I struggled to sleep. It didn't come out quite how I imagined, in fact... I planned it to be a lot more arty and abstract with patterns in the clouds but this is the end result. Please excuse my cuticles... *Hides face in shame*

On all my nails I began with two coats of Barry M's 'Pearl' (I'll be needing a new bottle soon, I love this polish for so many nail art ideas!) I then created a really random gradient using China Glaze's 'Something Sweet' , 'As Light As Air', Barry M's 'Peach Melba', Picture Polishes 'Sky', Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple' and finally Sinful Colors ' Unicorn'. I then applied Collistar's glitter (I wish I had used a larger glitter.) and painted my rainbows and clouds using acrylic. I topped it all off with OPI's top coat.

What do you think about rainbow nail art? Do you like it or do you prefer less colours to your manicure?

I hope you have a lovely evening!

Sinful Colors: Unicorn Swatch & Review ★★★★.5

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope you've had an excellent week! Once again my blog schedule was turned upside down, no matter how hard I tried to get things done something would happen – Would you believe I actually note down my weekly manicure plans... haha :( Anyway, today I have swatch and review of Sinful Colors 'Unicorn'. Something a little cheery for this miserable weather we are having here in Holland at the moment; How is your weather?

Colour ~ Unicorn is a fresh lemon/buttery pastel yellow with a gorgeous pop. It reminds me a lot of China Glaze's 'Lemon Fizz' but I think this one is a little brighter and less chalky looking.

Application ~ The application was really smooth and dreamy, I applied three coats relatively fast and I had no issues with bubbles. I'd also like to say that within my three coats I ended up with a pretty flawless finish. I had streaks on my first layer but it all smoothed out beautifully.

Texture ~ I would describe Unicorn as a crème with a flawless and glossy finish even before applying my topcoat. I also found the formula to be really great, not too thick and not too watery – great for really showing this colour off and building up coats.

★★★★.5 /5  Four and a half stars, pretty darn good, huh? I really recommend this polish for anyone looking for a lighter yellow shade without the stress of streaking. It also dries really fast which is a huge bonus. I adore this colour, its so cute and girly as far as yellows go.

What do you think of this pastel yellow? Do you have a go-to pastel yellow in your collection yet?

Have a great weekend – I'll get going on my huge catch up process!

First Ever Mani Recreation : Rockin' The Peacock

Allo polish Pals!
Hope you are all doing well? How was your weekend? I had a really lovely girls day on Saturday with my sister-in-law; she spoilt me terribly and I am so grateful, I love spending time with her. She has a wicked sense of humor! – I think sometimes its important to have just girly days like that. I was also happy to discover one of our drug stores here in Holland is now carrying Sinful Colors – Wahoo! For today's post I am showing you a recreation of my first ever manicure that I posted here. I am not 100% happy with this new version but I think its still a big difference and hopefully an improvement on the original.
Left: My first version which I created two years ago, Right: Funked up version!

On my thumb, middle and ring finger I began by applying two coats of Hema's Green Chameleon and used Color Club's 'Cold Metal' and Fearne's 'High Tide' to create a gradient (a lot less noticeable then I wanted it – sad face, boo boo) I then used Barry M's 'Gold Foil' to add the peacock feather by using the Nail Craze stamping plate 01. On my remaining fingers I used two coats of 'High Tide' and added Sinful Color's 'Nail Junkie' glitter on top. I finished it off by adding some golden holo hexagons.

What do you think of both manicures? Do you prefer the original or my recreation?
I think I'll still recreate this again one day, I want to get the perfect peacock look!

Have a lovely day!

Day 18: Half Moon Nails

Allo polish Pals!
Wow, didn't the weekend fly by? Bring it back! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, what did you get up to? I had a super spring clean today and am feeling pretty tired, I decided Monday might be my new Sunday – I deserve a lie in tomorrow! So for the 18th day of the 31 day nail art challenge I needed to create a half moon manicure. This is the simple manicure I created.

So on all my nails I started with two coats of Herôme's 'Kingston' which is a very light beige/gold with the most subtle holographic finish (I fail to get my camera to pick this up) and used reinforcement rings to create my half moons. I then painted on top with Orly's 'Terra Mauve'. Finally I used a fan brush to add a little few sketchy lines of Sinful Colors 'Dancing Nails' to add a little textured look.

What do you lovely ladies think of this manicure? Have you created a half moon manicure before; What colours did you decide to wear together?

Have a beautiful start to the week!

The 31 Day Challenge: Day 4 - Green

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope you are well! I've been a busy little bee so far this week, I like being productive! I'm also really excited as me and Mr Bravo booked our tickets to England last night. We'll be going for three weeks in August ~ I can't wait to see my family, its been too long!
Today I am continuing with the 31 day challenge and day four requires green nails. I decided to create something quite 'earthy' looking which included eye shadow pigments and glequins! (The next day will be blue nails – Yeah, I can't wait!)

On my index and ring finger I began by applying two coats of China Glaze's 'Smoke n' Ashes' and topped it off with Sinful Colors 'Call you later' which is a gorgeous green glitter. I then used my Oumaxi acrylic paints (From Sammy Dress) and created a few leaves, I finished these nails off by applying a few glequins to the edge of my leaves. On all my other nails I applied two coats of Pupa's 'Pearly Green' and splashed on some green loose eye pigments – Now that I look at it its not as sparkly as I would have liked but it does remind me of moss!!

What do you think of this leafy green manicure? Have you tried pigment nails yet? ~ Don't forget to check out my tutorial if it interests you!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

My Love-Story Nails!

Allo polish Pals!
How have you been? Today's post is going to be a little different as my manicure is inspired by love so I'll be including a background story as to why I felt it was important to do something 'lovey'. I also figured that its about time I stop calling my Partner my 'Partner' so I'll be referring to him now as Mr Bravo (Johnny Bravo) which seems cute.

This time last year I began speaking to a wonderful man I met on facebook. I had had him on my friends list two years before we actually ever exchanged words; I honestly wish I had been plucky enough to talk to him sooner because I had met the kindest man I've ever met. When my father had his heart attack he was there for me in every possible way despite us being in different countries. It was this time last year I was wishing him Happy Birthday on Skype. I could never have imagined that by December I would have boarded the plane for my first ever trip abroad alone to Holland when I would finally meet him. Everything was fantastic and if you have been following me for a while you'll know that when I was supposed to return back to England for Christmas I didn't, I stayed longer. Finally it was time for me to return home and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I knew that when I next saw him I could not leave him at the airport. When I returned back to Holland I officially stayed. Now it is one year on and I am the happiest I have ever been in my life.

I can not thank my Partner enough for all he has done for me.

Now onto the manicure! I started off with two coats of Barry M's 'Baby Pink' and applied a generous coat of Barry M's 'Rose Quartz' glitter on top. Using W7's Black I used the brush to carefully make abstract heart shapes. I did the same in the centre of the hearts using the gorgeous metallic pinky-red from Sinful Colors 'Dancing Nails' (A gift from Mr Bravo that seemed to suit perfectly!) I used a small dotting tool for the dots and little black hearts and finished off with Model's Own Pro Matte topcoat. I'm not the happiest with these nails I've ever been but my love nails where so important to me I kept starting and restarting over.
Back in December! I just thought this was cute. Excuse the chipping!
What do you think of this manicure? Have you ever been inspired to create love nails for someone special?

Enjoy the rest of your day!
