How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fun weekend?

On Saturday afternoon I helped my niece and nephew with pumpkin carving, considering I have never done it before I think I did pretty good, no knife injuries! My sister helped my nephew carve a creepy face and my niece and I made a pretty cool looking cat but I think they had more fun playing with the pumpkin flesh. We also realised after we had made them that my sister had no candles..

Anyway, today I have my last Halloween manicure to share with you. Ever since I created the 'sinister sisters' nail art I've wanted to out do it and create something better. I gave it a go but I'll let you guys be the judges.

Fiery Love Nail Polish (9ml) - Born Pretty Store Review

I hope you are all doing great today. Thank you so much for all your support, it been lovely to read the comments across platforms and its really helped me maintain positivity!

Yesterday my almost 5 year relationship came to an end. Its hard. Its really hard. I don't want to keep making you guys feel like you come here for bad news so from here on its going to be positive notes. Or do I blog it all? Feedback on how much I post is welcome. I may set up a side blog.

Today I have another Born Pretty Store review, I'll be showing you an interesting polish called 'Fiery Love' which I think will perhaps please those interested in flakes without wanting the hassle of using gels.

This polish is a clear based flaky phenomenon in a 9ml bottle! Looking at the bottle it shifts beautifully through greens and blues, golden oranges to reds. Its mezmerising! I think this is one of those polishes that relies heavily on what you pair it with. I imagine a blue based polish would bring out the greens and blues more. I am wearing it over a deep burgandy polish which really bought out the greens, golds and warmer shades.

I had initially planned to show you it on a black polish however my black seems to have gotten lost in all the moving – as did a few things I am beginning to notice..

Application was fine and the dry time was rather impressive. I only needed one coat to get this amount of flakes on my nail. I think this polish will be a blessing to those who do not want to use gels and loose flakes on their nails. I think the result is just as pleasing. Overall I am really impressed and would certainly try out the other polishes in this series after trying this one.

How are you all doing today? I hope you are having a great weekend so far. I don't know about you but the weather here is just beeeaaautiful!

I had the most lovely surprise yesterday when a dear friend and fellow blogger surprised me with a package containing healthy but delicious cookies, they were SO good!!! 

I also made a total loss of 10kg, or 1.5 st since that doctors appointment back in mid April. I'm actually pretty pleased with myself as its all been through healthy ways.

Mixed Nail Art Decoration/Rhinestone Manicure Wheel - BeautyBigBang.com Review

How are you all doing today? I hope you are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend?

Today is a big one for me, this afternoon I'll be off to Mr Bravo's Nephew's 2^nd birthday and in the evening I am off to Amsterdam to see a band called the Toppers, they do a mixture of tribute songs in both Dutch and English – they usually have themes and this time it is a wild west theme! 

I am going with my sister-in-law (I call her that even though Mr Bravo and I are not married) who took me to my first Toppers concert back in December, it was so fun!

Today though I have another review for you of a Beautybigbang.com product. This is a 'Mixed glitters/rhinestones manicure nail art decoration wheel' and it contains come of the cutest nail embellishments I have EVER seen! 

I added some little sequins to the center of the flowers.

I also want to start by saying that I have been so impressed with BeautyBigBang.com's delivery, from confirmation email to arrival it was probably no more than a week or so, with all the experience I have of nail suppliers this is pretty darn good!

This wheel comes PACKED, no joking, PACKED full of super cute studs, there are some very adorable little things going on in this wheel.

After photographing the few selected studs I took out I struggled insanely to get these back in the wheel because there was so many left in there.

There are so many different types of studs from thin hollowed hearts to big chunky bows, a minion and even a super cute giraffe. There are also circular studs, flowers and Hello Kitty's, I have come up with at least 4 or 5 designs in my head using some of these. These are a great way to get inspiration for manicures!

However I decided that I'd try something a little different so I picked out some of the 3D flowers and decided to incorporate them into a freehand design. I used two coats of Barry M's 'Eat My Dust' and once dry I used my brush to sweep over various shades of acrylic blue paint. I then added a coat of Zoya's Maisie to add some stunning flakes. I added the lily pads with green acrylic paint and added my Pro-FX top coat.

I knew I'd LOVE the flakies with a matte top coat so I went ahead and added a thin coat. With a splodge of top coat I sat the flowers on top of the lily pads.

Chameleon Glitter Paillette Shinning Starry Foils Nail Art Powder

How are you all doing today? Happy Flappy, fluprin' weekend to you all! - do you feel like you need the weekend right about now? I hope you have something nice planned. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my Dutch family. I think its going to be positively busy which has been the running theme for this week.

Today I am showing you another product from Beautybigbang.com, this is 'Nail ChameleonGlitter Paillette Nail Sequins Shinning Starry Foils Nail Art Powder' in J2106-2C which is a bluey/violet purple/pinky powder – it may remind you of something I used recently but to make this post a little more interesting (Yoda, anyone?) I have included a video on how to use these powders since they are so easy. Gel phobes, look, its not so scary.

I'm trying really hard to practice making videos. I know its something I should have been doing since.. forever ago but when it comes to freehand my painting hand gets in the way of the shots no matter how hard I try, haha! Also my pesky fingers don't sit still.

Freehand Star Wars Yoda Nail Art

How are you all doing today? Did you have an awesome weekend?

I had a fairly quiet one that consisted of a little house work, nail art and yesterday movies! I've still been eating great and working out. Isn't it surprising how little time it actually takes to see a difference?

Today's nail art is inspired again by the weekly challenge over on Tiny Canvas (click to be taken there) where our theme this week was Star Wars. If you were not aware, May 4^th is Star Wars day, May 4^th... May The 4^th be with you, get it?!

I'm really not much of a Star Wars fan, in fact I know very little about it but I wanted to take part none the less! I decided to settle on Yoda since he seems so iconic and everyone will probably recognise him. I also added the 'Death Star'.

Mezmris Nail Lacquer - Psychedelic Galaxy Swatch & Review

How are you all doing today? Has anything fun or eventful happened in your week yet?

Mine seems to be a mixture of really mundane things going on but I am feeling good for the huge spring clean I've had. Next I need to spring clean my polish collection, I think! On the plus side at least it actually feels like Spring now!

Today I am showing you a really pretty polish from Mezmris Nail Lacquer, this one is one of my absolute favourites and you know I've got an obsession with Sammi's nail polishes! This is 'Psychedelic Galaxy'.

I absolutely love Psychedelic Galaxy, I knew I would..and then it arrived and I loved it even harder than I thought I would! Its a black jelly laced with all sorts of yummy, beautiful holographic micro glitters and ultra chromatic chameleon flakies (so drool worthy) This polish is completely opaque in 2-3 coats although I have also worn it over black in the past. (Remember my musical nails?)

It has an amazing dry time and a beautiful glossy sheen even before adding a top coat although combined with the Mezmris Nail Lacquer top coat, 'Armor' really brings all those flakies to life.

Since owning this polish I am continuously looking for manicure ideas that I can use it for, it is beautiful and unique and always gets a ton of compliments.

Freehand Musical Notes On A Rainbow!

How are you all doing today? Are you doing anything awesome this weekend? I'll be off visiting from friends in another part of Holland, I am so looking forward to seeing how their two little boys are doing, I bet they've grown so much!

I want to warn you before you see today's nail art.. don't be alarmed! This is not my current nail shape. I had been struggling with my shape from the end of December up until recently, I kept trying to file and file.. and wasn't satisfied no matter what I did.

If you are a member of Tiny Canvas you'll know I basically lost my patience and cut them all down. They are much shorter now but I'm actually happy with them being shorter and rounded.. So excuse how weird and pointy they look here.

I don't think I'd ever done anything with musical notes before but when I saw the beautiful polish 'Psychedelic Galaxy' from Mezmris Nail Lacquer I knew right away I wanted to pair it with something interesting. 'Psychedelic Galaxy' is so beautiful with all its flakes of rainbow and holo glitter.. its so special in my collection..

Freehand Flakie Turtle Nail Art With Acrylic-Gradients

Happy Friday to you all, how are you doing?! Bam, here we are at the start of another weekend! Do you have anything nice planned? I may or may not be going out with my Sister in law for dinner, there was a plan but this whole week my nightmare eye situation has flared up again – my left eye is HUGE.

Sadly because of it I feel pretty rubbish, my vision is blurry, it hurts to bend down.. Back to looking like I've been punched! I had intended to show you a Born Pretty Store review but I have totally mucked the whole thing up, luckily I have a few of the stickers left so I will try again when I can concentrate better.

So instead I'm going to show you something I did at the beginning of the week before it got so bad, If you are a member of Tiny Canvas on Facebook you may have already seen this – the weekly challenge this week was turtle nail art. I really wanted to join in after missing a couple of the other weeks (they are optional but always so much to take part in) I decided to do a turtle in black and white.

So, I didn't have a lot of ideas or planning when I began this little dude. I just knew I wanted an acrylic-gradient in there somewhere so I began with my usual base of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry applied two coats of NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage'. I added a coat of my Pro-FX for a fast drying finish and then proceeded to create an acrylic-gradient with purple, blue and tropical green. I also added a layer of Zoya's 'Maisie' – yes I am obsessed. I then proceeded to draw/paint a freehand turtle in black and white. I added some swirls and dots (mostly because by this point I was in a lot of pain) and finished off again with my Pro-FX topcoat. I also added Catrice's 'Matte&More' because I find it fun to see how manicures will look!

I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, I think he looks proper grumpy but that's ok!

You may notice my thumb acrylic-gradient isn't as well blended. I tried adding some yellow fish before quickly changing my mind!

Gold/Silver Sea Horse/Shell/Coconut Tree Nail Art studs - Born Pretty Stud Review

How are you doing today? I hope you are looking forward to a fantastic weekend, any nice plans? I'm not really up to much. The house will be mostly empty tomorrow so I am going to enjoy some chilled painting time. I've had a big of artist block lately so I will try and de-funk it.

Today I have a really unoriginal manicure but I am really happy with how it looks. I will be showing you 'Gold/Silver Sea Horse/Coconut tree studs' from the Born Pretty Store. I think a more appropriate name to quickly sum up this nail art wheel would be 'Beach Studs'.

I absolutely love these studs. I opted for gold as I felt it offered a more..'sun kissed' look.

Before I tell you about these studs let me own up, its confession time. I totally forgot to take pictures of the wheel before I dived in and started using them so one of the compartments is missing studs and a few of the others are missing a few – oppsie. I couldn't contain my excitement!

These studs are a perfect size, as you'll see on my nails it is easy to feature 1, 2 or even more on a single nail. This wheel contains sea horses (looove) seashells, palm trees, star fish, feathers and what I want to call.. conch? Shells. I think there are so many ways to wear these decals, you don't have to go down the ocean route like I have, you could totally mix these up with other styles. I think the feathers would look super cute for a dream catcher design. Overall I am extremely happy with these studs and will have to stop myself from using them all the time.

I started as usual with a coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry (that's like counting up to 4, btw) I then began with two coats of NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage'. I then sectioned off a black section and a blue section on my nails using acrylic paint. I used browns and grey to create some rocks (I attempted to shade these!) Next I created an acrylic gradient with my water section. Once I completed that I added a sparse amount of Zoya's 'Maisie' to the water section for some pretty blue flakies. Next I sealed it all in with my Pro-FX top coat and carefully placed my studs alone the shoreline.

I'm personally really fond of this manicure. I know there are a lot of seashell stud manicures out there but I've always admired them and wanted to create one myself! This is probably one of my most loved nail art wheels in my collection.

Opalescent Flakie Nails And Freehand Diamonds

How are you doing today? What is your weather been like so far this week for you? Its so fweakin' unpredictable here! One minute the sun is being its beautiful self and the next you can expect a horrendous down pour. I want to be out enjoying my walks but its hard to figure out how to dress!

I hope it is better where you are! I'm excited for a fun day out with my Sister-in-law!

Today I have a freehand design that had been floating around in my head for ages, I wanted to do something that had a sort of...precious stone or opalescent look to it, of course I had to add some freehand so I created some simple diamonds (I originally tried to paint big chunky 3D diamonds but that was an epic fail) and did my best to shade them to look like they stood out.

For this manicure I began my usual base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry added two coats of Catrice's 'The Sky So Fly' (far too in love with this shade!) Next I used a sandwich bag to smoosh on some of Catrice's 'St. Tropez' – an interesting white/pink opalescent/shell like shade that Mr Bravo surprised me with, I finally found a way to use it! I then added a little of Zoya's 'Maisie', a blue flakie polish which is one of my pride and joys within my collection.

I then used my acrylic paints and Edinburgh Realism brush from Fab Ur Nails to create my diamonds. I started with the basic shape and a medium blue. I then outlined one side to each of the diamonds with a light blue and repeated the process with a darker blue on the other sides of the diamonds. I added a little dab of Hema's 'Happy Silver' to the centers to give them a little more shimmer. I finished it all off with my Pro-FX top coat.

Shamrock Happy St. Patrick's Day Nail Art - Freehand

How are you doing today? Happy St. Patrick's day to you all! Will any of you be celebrating today? I personally wont be; I wish I had Irish friends who I could join in with! Either way I love learning about holidays and how people wish to spend them! Of course there will be the abundance of green, rainbowy shamrock filled nail art and manicures all across the blogisphere and the internet, I couldn't help but join in!

Did you know... Apparently St. Patrick is not actually Irish, he was Welsh!

A quick google search also taught me that...

Every year the Irish leader hands a crystal bowl filled with shamrock to the US President. They are originally grown in Kerry and is immediately destroyed by the Secret Service after the exchange.... What the?!! Well, I certainly didn't know that..Did you?!...Is that even true?!

For this manicure I began with two coats of Barry M's 'Cardamon' for a clean base and followed through with two coats of Picture Polishes 'Phshiiit'. I then took my acrylics and began to paint a rainbow with a very fine striping brush. I added a few shamrocks on my nails and outlined them with black (why can't I just leave things alone?!) I finished off with a few gold dots and my Pro-FX top coat.

It didn't come out entirely as I had hoped but it was still fun to do!

Christmas-y Polar Bear And Penguins - Freehand Nail Art

How are you today? Can you believe its only 4 days until Christmas? Are you feeling excited?! I sure am! Today I have a freehand design for you, very appropriate for this time of year. My inspiration came from thisreally cute Pin on Pinterest. When I saw it I just knew I wanted to try and recreate it!

I also decided to enter this into the Born Pretty Store's xmas nail contest - My entry is #197 - there is currently 386 entries as I am writing this, what a turn out!

For this manicure I began with two coats of Nails Inc's 'Colville Mews' and once dry began to create a gradient using Barry M's 'Sky Blue' and HD Nails #3. I added a thin coat of Zoya's 'Maisie' (God I love this flaky so hard, I've almost killed the bottle) and applied my Catrice gel effect top coat.

Once everything was entirely dry I began to create my little friends with acrylic paint and my favorite bamboo brush. Finally I sealed them all in with a final layer of Catrice top coat and Barry M's matte top coat.

I'm ok about how this turned out. My only issue is that you can't see Mr Bears back foot so well which is a shame since it was all cute and pinky..and flooffy...

Freehand Baby Dragon And Spirit Friends

How are you doing today? Hey, you there! Yes you, with the finely fancy finger arts! Tell me, do you love flakies? I am always looking for an excuse to use the couple I have! Most manicures I create don't call for flakies so I get excited when I think of an idea where it might actually look awesome. I've wanted to do dragon nail art since forever. I've so many ideas and inspiration pictures but for this manicure I opted for a less realistic looking dragon. I will try a higher detailed on in the future. I wanted this to be a super cute diddy baby dragon. Just because I can :)

So I began with two coats of Sally Hansen's 'Resurrection' and created a gradient on top using Model's Own 'Purple Grey', Barry M's 'Supersonic' and 'Resurrection' again for the tips. This was a seriously miserable looking gradient so on top of that I added Model's Own 'Pinky Brown' where 'Purple Grey' – This was all part of the plan, strangely. Once that was all dry I added Nubars '2010' for an extra deep and flakie look.

Everything else was done with acrylic paint and my darling bamboo brush. I still seriously can't believe this brush has done me so well and only cost $0.99

I Dream Of Unicorns - Freehand Nail Art

How are you today? Tell me... When you hear the words unicorn and nail art together, do you get excited? I had wanted to do some unicorn for so long but I knew I wanted to freehand it. I finally got around to it! This is actually the first of two horsey nail art manicures I have done – the second one is so so much better and I am really looking forward to sharing that one with you, but for now lets have some unicorn magic! 

For this manicure I began with two coats of Barry M's 'White' and created a gradient on top using Essie's A splash of Grenadine' and Rimmel's 'Wild-er-ness'. I added a coat of Barry M's 'Crystal Glaze' for a slightly rainbowy, glassy magical look and went about my unicorn using my Oumaxi acrylic paints and my beloved bamboo brush. On my remaining nails I added a few swirls and dots.
