Freehand Halloween Nail Art - Who Not To Invite Inside!

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fun weekend?

On Saturday afternoon I helped my niece and nephew with pumpkin carving, considering I have never done it before I think I did pretty good, no knife injuries! My sister helped my nephew carve a creepy face and my niece and I made a pretty cool looking cat but I think they had more fun playing with the pumpkin flesh. We also realised after we had made them that my sister had no candles..

Anyway, today I have my last Halloween manicure to share with you. Ever since I created the 'sinister sisters' nail art I've wanted to out do it and create something better. I gave it a go but I'll let you guys be the judges.

Freehand Halloween Chickens Go Trick Or Treating

Allo polish Pals,

Happy weekending to you all! I hope you are having a fabulous one so far? Tell me, do you have any plans for Halloween?

I don't really celebrate it and never have, growing up in the UK it wasn't massively popular where I grew up coupled with the fact I was the only child on the street (and my sister was 7 years older) but I've always been in awe at how some American families decorate their houses and gardens and go ALL out! It looks like a lot of fun.

Since I started nail blogging I have found each Halloween more and more fun in terms of creating nail art. I've already posted on design but I am saving the best for Monday's post! Ever since I created those scary hag sisters I've been trying to out do myself!

Today though.. These little chickens just want join in the fun. They've got their costumes on early because they just can not contain they little beaky excitement! Who says chickens can't enjoy Halloween too?..

For today though I am rolling out the first of my Halloween nail art designs. I've three to show you in total but I'm saving the best until last! This ones pretty simple but I wanted to create something cute. Here's my Pumpkin Weenie!

Freehand Halloween Swamp Monster!

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope you are having an awesome weekend!

I'm looking forward to a cozy day in with Mr Bravo, we don't really celebrate Halloween here but it is a good excuse to watch some horror movies and snuggle up in the warm! To those of you celebrating Halloween tomorrow I hope you have a fantastic time but do please stay safe!

I've got my last Halloween manicure for you today, this is Clive! I'm not too sure about Clive's intentions... I mean, he says he likes to read romance novels and take long strolls on the beach...but I dunno.. Do you think the graveyard has any connection to the seemingly toxic swamp?

For this manicure I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, Armor. Once this was dry I applied two coats of Catrice's 'Generation whYte'. I again allowed this to dry and applied a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat to create a nice smooth barrier for my nail art. I then used my bamboo brush and metallic paints to create a nice shiny sky for my scene. Everything else was created using my detailing brushes and acrylics.

Will you be doing anything for Halloween? I totally wish I had some spicy pumpkin soup right now..

What do you think of my darling, Clive? What are you wearing on your nails right now?

Have a beautiful day and Happy Halloween for Monday! I'll catch you again on Tuesday, Stay safe and have fun! Thank you for visiting :)

Freehand Halloween Mummy Nail Art!

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope you are doing great! :) Are you officially into that snug autumnal feeling? Wrapping up in blankets and enjoying hot beverages? It's certainly getting colder here in the south of Holland!

Today's manicure was again inspired by the weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas, the prompt for the challenge was 'Mummies Vs Vampires – I wasn't sure if I should take that literally and have a vampire trying to kill a mummy.. it seemed a little too much, I think! So I went for just the mummies :)

For this manicure I began with my beloved Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, Armor up. Once dry I then used two coats of Catrice's 'Generation whYte' (You guys now I like to paint on white, this isn't a solid white, far from it.. but its doing the job) once this was dry I then applied a thin coat of Pro-FX top coat to create a nice smooth barrier. My next step was to create an acrylic-gradient for my sky using acrylic paints and my dearly loved and also kind of dead bamboo brush. I finished everything else with my smaller detailing brushes. Finally I finished by applied Mezmris Nail Lacquer's top coat, Armor... and you know me by now, I had to try the matte top coat too!

Which version do you prefer? The matte top coat or the glossy? I swear some manicures just look better with different finishes.

I realised after painting this that I don't think they really look like mummies. I think I made the bandages just... perhaps too uniform and white. Plus if they were mummified it wouldn't have just been like a skeleton.. I don't know. Tell ya what, its not my field of expertise ;) Forgive me!

What do you think of my Mummy nail art? If you are doing Halloween nail art, what will you be having on your nails?

Have a beautiful day my friends, I'll catch you again on Sunday for my final Halloween-ie mani. Thank you so much for visiting, don't be a stranger!

Cats, Bats and Spiders! Freehand Halloween Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? Did you have an awesome weekend?

I've decided to set myself little weekly challenges, I'm a sucker for lists and organisation (if you've got me on Facebook you'll have seen my collection of lists) So I am going to make myself a sort of motivational list, I'll have two or three goals I want for the coming week (besides the usual) Bigger, but achievable goals.

For one I want to do at least 10 miles of my walking workout DVD but I can easily divide that into manageable amounts! Do you tend to break things up to make them seem less daunting?

Today I have my first of three Halloween manicures. I am not too sure about this one, I feel like I had a lot to compete with as I was quite happy with the ones I did last year but you can decide for yourselves!

For this manicure I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, Armor Up. Once dry (that's like 0.1 seconds) I applied two coats of Catrice's 'Generation whYte' for my base. My Barry M was getting pretty low and do you think our local Kruidvat as a simple solid white polish? Esh.. This is doing the job though. I applied a coat of Pro-FX as a barrier and once dry moved onto the nail art. I used some new metallic acrylics (Thank you, Dani!!!) and my trusty tatty bamboo brush to create the purple to blue gradient. I then used my fine detailing brush to paint the rest of the scene. I finished off with my Wet 'N' Wild matte top coat.

As much as I love the background I wish I had tried a little harder with everything else, its hard to see the spider legs on the metallic background and I wish I'd done smaller bats to look as if they were really flying away..ah well!

Have you created any Halloween nail art yet? What do you think of this nail art?

Have a wonderful Monday! I'll catch you again on Wednesday. Take care and visit again soon!

Killer Clowns - Freehand Halloween Nail Art & Short Story

It was a cold and blustering night as Ithfifi arrived outside the gloomy location...
It was a little odd maybe that she was the only one stood waiting outside the old abandoned balloon factory, at the door marked 'A'.  She'd expected there would be other girls here waiting to be let inside too, ah well. Perhaps she wasthe first to arrive.

Ithfifi had been jumping up and down with joy when the invitation came through the letter box. The invitation read:

Congratulations, you have been selected as one of 20 winners. We would love to see you at 01.00am at the old abandoned balloon factory (door A) on Saturday 31st of October where you will be able to select 50 brand new nail polishes of your choice. Mobiles and communication devices will not be permitted inside the building. COME . ALONE.”

The prospect of winning 50 new polishes had clouded Ithfifi's better judgement.

Now, as she stood here, swaying in the wind all alone she began to wonder if this really was such a good idea after all. Suddenly the door marked 'A' creaked open slightly. “Hello, is anyone there?” she called out hesitantly. “I'm here because of the invitation... for the nail polish. Is anyone else here?” A light switched on inside and she peered through the open door...

The room was bathed in an eery white light. It was a single massive room, it looked as though some of the machinery was still inside but it was hard to tell because the room was covered in hundreds and hundreds of colourful balloons. Without a warning the balloons started to move and sway as if someone were running through them, occasionally a few balloons popped revealing the shadowed shape of figures running towards her.
She caught a glimpse of a face, huge wide eyes and great gnashing, razor sharp teeth, a head full of every colour of hair.

Suddenly the light went off and all she could hear was multiple strange laughs and howls echoing off the walls of the room and the excruciating sound of rubbery balloons on skin.
Base colours: Barry M 'Black' and Essie's 'Cashmere Bathrobe'. Details done with acrylic paint and Barry M Matte top coat.
Some say she became one of them... Others say she simply vanished on that night, as if she had floated away from this life.

I hope you like this post - I'm always a little nervous when I 'write' stuff, this was.. less than I had hoped for!.. I'm behind on my commenting but I'm coming, I miss visiting everyone's blogs as often.

I hope to all of you who may be celebrating tonight that you have a great time and stay safe! But everyone, just have a really lovely weekend :)

The Sinister Sisters - Freehand Halloween Nail Art

 Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? If you celebrate Halloween are your plans coming together? n
I've never really celebrated it.. My English family were not into it and growing up our surrounding houses were lived in by older people. My Dutch family aren't really into it either and the surrounding neighbourhood doesn't seem big on trick or treating either... ah well. I do quite enjoy seeing all the awesome decorations online, there are some amazing displays!

On Saturday night me and Mr Bravo will watch some horror films - roll in your recommendations pleasee!
Toda y's post...was located from a dark corner in the back of my mind, I suppose... I didn't really use an inspiration picture (perhaps that's the disturbing part, that I came up with this??) and I did less planning on where to put things then I normally do. Somehow it worked out alright and pretty creepy, I think!

I'mma go ahead and call my thumb hag Shelly and my other hag Hargle,  just because I can... I'd imagine Shelly would be quite jealous that Hargle has a nose, but we can't all be so lucky. I guess. Maybe Shelly has 8 toes and Hargle has 3.. Who knows..that rhymes with nose... Oh god, Sorry Shelly :/  Shelly looks like she is pretty good at instagram though .. #selfie

I only used one polish for this manicure which was Essie's 'For The Twill Of It'. I created my evil looking hags from acrylic paint and seal with my Catrice top coat. One dry I also tested out how this looked matte by using Barry M's Matte top coat.

What do you think of my 'Sinister Sisters'? Do you prefer it with shine or matte finish?

Have a great time, stay safe if you are celebrating!

Friendly Ghost Halloween Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
Happy mid week to you all, how are you doing? Today I'll be out helping with house work at Mr Bravo's Grandmother's house - if you read my blog often you'll know that this means when I get home I will be stuffed full of yummy food and be absolutely useless for the rest of the evening!

Its time to pull out some Halloween nail art! I told you I had some, I just can't bring myself to post spooky related things for the entire month but I'll have a couple more to show you after this and they get more... disturbing, I guess. This is just the obligatory cutesy nail art to get started!

Don't forget to enter both my international giveaways - time is running out! There's only three days left to enter to win a $15 Born Pretty Store voucher;  And 1 week left to win a nail art set including acrylic paints and 5 stamping plates + more.

This manicure began with two coats of Barry M's 'Black' followed on top with Opi's 'Snowflakes In The Air'. I then totally turned that around and made it look pretty interesting with Klean Color's 'Black Chunky Holo' glitter which added such an unusual tint on top of all the other glitter – I like it! It reminds me of a 'bokeh' effect.

I then added some little ghosties with my white acrylic paint and my trust Bamboo brush. - I tested out a new top coat on top of the acrylics.. I did not like the effect it had on the acrylics.

What do you think of this bizarre glitter combination? Are you wearing any Halloween nail art this month?

Have a great day!

Freehand Sinister Pumpkins - Happy Halloween!

All polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope your enjoying your Friday and Halloween of course, if you celebrate it.
I decided to fit in one more Halloween inspired nail art before the ghouls come out to play. When I finished this I sat back and looked at my work and was sort of pleased with it. Until the final matte top coat and I saw my pictures... Then I noticed how horrifically streaky the lighter orange appeared which it doesn't at an eyes glance. Shame but too bad; I am really going to be working harder to improve my acrylic painting. Here are some festive pumpkins!
I started off with one thin coat of Fearne's 'Night Owl' and layered Sporty Girl's black glitter from their 'Crush On You' collection. I added my circles of orange using Catrice's 'Orange bloom' and mattified. I then created my details of the pumpkins using my Oumaxi paints and finished with a top coat. I then realised I preferred this as it was, matte. Big mistake I think; That's when I noticed my detailing become streaky. Perhaps less is more...

Pumpkins! Good to eat? Or just to carve? What do you think of this nail art?

Have a fantastic evening no matter your plans,

These Spiders Are A Gal's Best Friend

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? Thank you to those who wished me to get better soon, it's been a really rough week so far and I'm completely out of sorts with everything. Yesterday I did more sleeping than anything else which makes me feel incredibly lazy. Argh, hopefully I am better soon – I don't have time to be ill! Halloween! Are you doing anything for Halloween? I've never really celebrated it, it wasn't that popular where I grew up in England and also doesn't seem like a huge deal here in Holland either but I am excited to know what you guys will be doing. My favorite thing about Halloween is the possibility of new horror films! For today I have some rather crappy spiders to kick off Halloween. (I am not overly impressed with my nail art lately, I need to up my game) I'm terrified of spiders but how about some prettier glitzy spiders?

I started with two coats of Sally Hansen's 'Resurrection' and applied Max Factor's 'Fantasy Fire' on top. I created my webs and spider legs by using Color Club's 'On The Rocks'. I used a mixture of rhinestones and studs to create the spider bodies.

What do you think of these uninspiring spider nails? Have you create any Halloween nail art yet?

Have a great day,

Happy Halloween! Zombie Makeup And Nails!

Allo polish Pals and Happy Halloween to you all!
I hope if you decide to celebrate Halloween you have a fantastic time and remember to travel safe! Being English I've never properly celebrated this holiday much myself but tonight seems like a great excuse to watch some horror films with Mr Bravo later, one of our favourite genre's!
Today's manicure is a little lack-lustre Halloween attempt.. I also thought I'd show you some Zombie makeup I did several years ago, just because.. why not?

I started with two coats of DA's '103', a truly beautiful bewitching shade and created a gradient using DA's '112' and Essie's 'Cashmere Bathrobe' on the tips. I then used my mash nail art pen to attempt some feeble silhouettes of zombies. Meh.. I can't say I'm too happy with this manicure but I wanted to post something even slightly Halloween-y!

What do you think of this manicure? Have you ever tried Zombie Makeup?
Have a fun and safe Halloween!
