Drag Marble Nail Art

How are you today? I hope you had an awesome weekend. Did anything exciting happen?

I have not told you yet but I am going to England again this Friday! I am super excited..but I'll tell you more about that in more depth a little later on.

Anyway... for today I have some more nail art that was created for the weekly Tiny Canvas challenge (Why do I always take part? The themes are fun and push me to try new challenges plus I feel as a moderator its good to join in to encourage other members) Our theme at the moment is drag marble nail art.

Sadly I can't tell you what nail polishes I used in this design as.. stuff is everywhere.

I can tell you about this design though even without knowing what polishes I used! I decided to go for a elemental themed manicure, creating a drag marble decal for each nail – we have wind/air, earth, fire and water.

On my thumb I used one coat of Barry M's 'White' polish to create a clean canvas for my acrylic-gradient. I did this using a thick brush and black, grey and white acrylic paints. I'm hoping I can make a video soon to show you how I do these. I added some small symbols to represent the elements. I finished everything else off with my Pro-FX top coat.

Probelle & Essence Quadruplet Marble Nail Art!

How are you all doing today? I hope you are having a fantastic weekend – I have not really been up to much, just trying to get the blog all organized for while I go away on the 25th. Not long now!

Today I have another manicure featuring Probelle's Textured polishes. Since my last *review* I have discovered they are great for marbling (this is a dry marble) and really good for stamping! They really are more than your average bumpy textured polish it seems!

Sometimes just feel like making dry marble decals, its especially good if I am feeling lazy at that particular time because I can put it aside and know that I'll have another manicure done and ready for maybe the day after when I am feeling more ambitious!

I used all three of my Probelle's, 'Textured Aqua', 'Textured Hot Pink' and 'Textured Purple', to make things innnnnteresting I also added Essence's 'Rebel At Heart' (Btw, I'm on my second bottle of this.. and its a grey! Wtf..love it though.) for some contrast.

I think it looks rather interesting and I like how the swirls of Probelle look against the gritty glittery grey, I'll certainly be using them in the future for more decals!

DIY Dry Marbled Pastel Decals

How are you doing today? I hope you are doing great! Do you have any goals set for this week? I think I am going to start setting myself goals...

I currently have have no internet besides cheekily hopping on to Mr Bravo's 4G here and there (obviously sparingly, Don't want to wrack up a huge phone bill) so I wont be able to comment and stuff until Tuesday (Hopefully the tech can fix it!)

Today I have some more DIY decals. I really enjoyed these nails because it was an easy way to get the water marble look without the failure risk. Its a more guaranteed way of getting marbled nails!

For this manicure I began by using some clear polish on a piece of old flooring (I'm not fancy enough for one of those special mats.. but hey if it works!) I allowed that to dry and painted my first base colour alternately. The polishes I used were Rimmel's 'Peachella' and 'Wild-er-ness', Model's Own 'Blueberry Muffin' and 'Banana Split', Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple' and China Glaze's 'Something Sweet'. I used a tooth pick to marble all these beautiful pastels together and set a side over night to dry.

The next day I painted on my favorite base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' to my clean nails and carefully peeled off my decals using pointed tweezers. I lay them onto the nail and gently patted them to get them to stick to my nails (They sort of warm up and stick to the base coat) I cleaned off any excess and took it one step further by adding a white border with acrylic paint and some simple gold sequin studs.

Ithi In Space! DIY Dry Marble Decals & Freehand Nail Art!

How are you all doing today? Do you have any exciting plans this weekend?

Today I have a manicure to share with you that probably isn't the greatest but it was a lengthy process to get to its completed state! I have a before and after, then I'll explain what I did!

          *How do I manage to cleanup all the decals but leave traces of the freehanding paint?! Duhhhh

So I began this manicure by applying some regular top coat to an old piece laminate flooring. Its my poor man's 'Uber Mat' but you know what, stuff peels off so it'll do! I then began layering a mixture of Barry M's 'VIP', Fogan's glitter I forgot.., Lady Venezia Don't remember the name also.. (When I am sick I get stupid-brain) Color Club's 'Eternal Beauty' and TipTop Polishes 'Jazz Berry'. Next I took a tooth pick and began swirling the polishes around in no real order what so ever – skills, bahaha. I left all of this in a safe place to dry over night.

The next day I painted my nails with just my base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and carefully began to unpeel the decals. I trimmed them down to fit my nail length and rubbed them gently onto the nail. I used nail polish remover and a fine square brush to gently remove any excess from around my nails and cuticles.

I then added some freehand planets, stars and a little Ithi floating around in space (she looks nothing like me) I'm quite blah about the freehand stuff but I love the concept. I'll be doing more decals like this in the future, they look so interesting!
