Reconstructed Flag ~ I'm off to England!

Allo polish Pals!

Hope you are having a great weekend, Are you doing anything exciting? The time as finally arrived, tomorrow me and Mr Bravo will be leaving for England for four weeks. I'm still sat here painting my 'going way nails' in between packing and getting everything ready. It's going to be great to spend my Birthday (Monday, I'll be 25, crikey!) and Christmas with my family this year :) Since I already did the Union Jack nails on our last visit I decided to reconstruct it in a slightly different way!

And A Matte Version

For the Union Jack I used China Glaze's Recycle and Kiss nail art striper’s in Silver and Black. The blue is Essie's 'Lapiz of Luxury' with a layer of Essence's 'Glorious Aquarius' glitter . The red is N07's 'Devil's Delight' (I think ~ I created this last week!) topped with Rimmel's 'Ruby Crush' glitter. Finally the white on my middle finger is Maybelline's 'Winter, Baby' and Catrice's 'I'm Dynamite' glitter.

What do you think of my reconstructed UK Flag nails? I think I preferred mixing the colours and grey-scaling the flag for a change! ~ I will probably be posting again Tuesday with updates about my Birthday, Its going to be less easy to post while my polish collection is here in Holland but I'll certainly do my best!

Modern Funky Christmas Tree

How are you today? Its three days until I go back to England now and I'm beginning to fap around like a frantic chicken; Trying to get all the laundry done so there's nothing waiting for me when I return in January but every time I turn around there is somehow more socks or clothing that needs to be washed. Phew. Today I am sharing my first real Christmas nails, I had so many idea's for making different styles of tree's but this is my first one :)

I started with two coats of DA's 043(?) I then used striping tape to create a triangle on the tips of my nails and painted it in with N07's 'Totally Teal'. Once that was dried I applied more tape to put a zig zag through the triangle and painted over with Essie's 'The More The Merrier'. I finally finished the manicure off by applying a mixture of cavier beads from MUA and Layla for the baubles and added a thin coat of Model's Own 'Gold Rush' over the N.nail star studs just because I believe a tree needs a fairy/angel/star/something at the top to finish it!

Nails Inspired By... Jeans

Did you have a good weekend? It was lovely here in Holland, being able to sit out in the sun with the ladies and soak up this years first warm day. Did you have some nice weather where you are?

I have a new years resolution ~ Yeah a little late I know but if your doing to start something its as good a time as any, right? I'll get to that later in the post!

Today's look is a simple tape mani which is sort of inspired by MiH Jeans  because I think this would look super chic paired with some smart jeans like these and heeled boots. I've never believed in having to match nails to clothing but I think the outfit with the nails would look rather sophisticated!

I used Essie Bobbing For Baubles (One of those shades I keep going back to ever since I got my grabby hands on it) and N07 Hot to Trot for the gold pieces. Its pretty simple but I think effective. I used striping tape which unfortunately after the move to Holland has seen far better days. That's next on the shopping list! Because of said tape it meant that when I went to remove it my lines where not as smooth as I had preferred.

Now this is where the resolution comes in. I can be so so hard on myself at times. I've always had too little confidence in what I do but I'm really going to work on feeling proud of the mani's I do. I know that sounds silly right? I just feel like so much self doubting is a unfortunate waste of my time so from now on. I'm going to try even harder to do my best so I can stop worrying if its good enough! Sending on the positive vibes, ladies!

Do you ever have times where you doubt your art? How do you get that voice out of your head that makes you wonder if something you've done is good? And do you like to coordinate your nails to your clothing?

Hawaii Shirts And Cocktails

Allo polish pals!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend? I had a lovely weekend visiting the mall with my partner and his sister on Saturday and seeing my family back in England via Skype. It's great to be able to see everyone, my two year old niece was more interested in her biscuit though unfortunately! I treated myself to some new art stripper/pens and a few cute little mini Herôme polishes which are fantastic for stamping. Herôme is a brand I am looking forward to swatching for you soon!

Today I am sporting a very tropical warm look. Doesn't this make you think of cocktails, Hawaii shirts and some lovely sunshine?
