Freehand Baby Dragon And Spirit Friends

How are you doing today? Hey, you there! Yes you, with the finely fancy finger arts! Tell me, do you love flakies? I am always looking for an excuse to use the couple I have! Most manicures I create don't call for flakies so I get excited when I think of an idea where it might actually look awesome. I've wanted to do dragon nail art since forever. I've so many ideas and inspiration pictures but for this manicure I opted for a less realistic looking dragon. I will try a higher detailed on in the future. I wanted this to be a super cute diddy baby dragon. Just because I can :)

So I began with two coats of Sally Hansen's 'Resurrection' and created a gradient on top using Model's Own 'Purple Grey', Barry M's 'Supersonic' and 'Resurrection' again for the tips. This was a seriously miserable looking gradient so on top of that I added Model's Own 'Pinky Brown' where 'Purple Grey' – This was all part of the plan, strangely. Once that was all dry I added Nubars '2010' for an extra deep and flakie look.

Everything else was done with acrylic paint and my darling bamboo brush. I still seriously can't believe this brush has done me so well and only cost $0.99

Flowers And Flakies

How are you today? Thank you for answering my previous post question, it was really fun to see what polishes you are wanting to add to your collections :) Today I have a one stroke flower manicure for you. I had to throw in some flakies... I just had to!

For this manicure I began with two coats of 'Aruba Blue' on all my nails. Once dried I applied Nubar's '2000' for some extra oompfh! I then created my flowers using a small squared brush and two shades of pink. They are not the best...but I'm not the best at one stroke – but its fun to try! I went over the edges of my flowers using the darkest pink to design the flowers more. I am still wondering if I should have outlined them in black? I finished it all off with Barry M's top coat.

What do you think of this flower and flakie combo? Have you had a chance to try the 'once stroke' technique?

Dotticure Inspired By Pinterest.

How are you today? I hope your having a good start to the week. I kicked off today with a 4 mile walk-work out DVD... ”Pfft, walking. Easy, I bet this isn't going to be much of a work out.” Man was I wrong, haha! Today I have some very simple nail art to show you, a very dotty dotticure which was inspired by this pattern *here* on Pinterest.

On all my nails I started with two coats of Yes Love's Black and proceed to go to dot-insanity by using a mixture of pinks, among them was Nubar's 'Belize Coal', Zoya's 'Cassie' and China Glaze's 'Something Sweet'. I added a few tiny blue dots here and there also, like the inspiration picture. I decided to also see how this looked matte. I think I preferred it with a shiny top coat though!

What do you think of this Dot-overdose? Did you like It better with a glossy finish or matte?

Flower Water Decals - Born Pretty Store

How are you today, I hope your having a good weekend so far? Today I embarked on an ultimate spring clean and I can tell you I regretted it – Why did I start!? On the positive side my nail polishes are beautifully arranged in nice new boxes that Mr Bravo bought me last week – My collection finally has a worthy home! Today I am showing you these beautiful flower pattern waterdecals from the Born Pretty Store. You can find these and so many others in the 'new arrival' section. Arn't these flowers so pretty? Ya know what I think is also great? The fact they are so damn easy to apply, you don't need to be the most confident nail artist to use these. First of all they come in a sheet and you will need to cut the flowers out so you can apply them individually. I then took a plastic cup of water and held my flowers under the water for a few minutes using tweezers. Its then really easy to slide the decal off from its base and apply it to the nail. If you ever used those fake tattoo's as a child then you will be a whizz with this, its really just the same idea.

The Manicure: I started by painting all my nails the lightest pink from my Guylond pink set and created a gradient using the other four pinks in the set. I then applied Nubar's '2000' flaky glitter. In hindsight perhaps I should have using a simple small glitter rather than flakies... I then applied my decals on top and sealed them with my top coat.

Candy Dotticure

How are you doing today? Are you looking forward to the weekend, do you have anything fun planned? I finally found my head and have managed to be quite productive over the last couple days and enjoying some more seasonal manicures. This is actually the first year I can do some Christmas-y nails since last year I was here in Holland visiting Mr Bravo for the first time ever! So I look forward to showing you some of these creations soon! Today's nails are a candy-esque manicure

I started with two coats of Layla's '01', my personal favourite silver and added varying sized dots using China Glazes 'Sunday Funday' and Nubar's 'Belize Coral'. In the center of the larger dots I added some Candy studs which came from the Born Pretty Store.

Overall its a pretty simple manicure but I really like the blue/pink combination combined with the soft touch silver.

What do you guys think of this manicure? Do you like pairing pink and blue together?

The feminine strike!

How are you all doing? Apologies for the delayed posting. I'm mostly feeling better now, just extremely tired. You ever had one of those nights where every little thing wakes you up? eesh! but at least I'm feeling back to my chirpy self! Today's look is one I created a couple of days ago and the inspiration is entirely random! I took the idea from THIS pin!

I started off with two coats of Layla '01' ~ this polish makes my polish senses so happy!

and applied my striping tape to form a zigzag line. Next I applied Nubar's 'White Tip' from the tape to the tip of the nails. Once dry I repeated the taping process making sure the tape was a over the white and about the width of the tape was covered. I took Essie's 'Cascade Cool' and applied over the remaining tip of the nail. I finally finished up with a good lick of Seche Vite top coat.

I originally planned to use Color Club 'On The Rocks' but that has to be the hardest polish I've ever applied in my life and I just didn't have the patience to make it work for me. In a way I am glad as I love Layla's soft touch silver!

What do you guys think of this look? Do you think I nailed the inspiration source? What are your favourite colours to pair with silver?

The Devious And Desperate

How is your weekend going? I hope you have something excited planned? I think its going to be a very quiet weekend here for me as I am sick, boohoo. Still I can use that as an excuse to paint leisurely! Today's look comes inspired from two TV shows. I recently watched a new series called Devious Maids which I enjoyed since I really liked Desperate housewives. Yes, its just as over the top as desperate housewives but it was a guilty pleasure for me!

Still having major lighting issues :c

I decided to go for a devious red and took the lace idea from a French maids outfit. Its not something I would wear typically as I think its a little on the tarty side but for the shows I think it works well. I started off with two coats of China Glaze 'Red Satin' on all fingers expect my ring finger. I then added a single coat of W7's 'Red Dazzle'. Using tape I added a diagonal black tip using W7's 'Black' and stamped on top using the BM 323 plate and Nubar's 'White Tip'.

On my ring finger I applied N07's 'Damson Dream' and added Essence 'Time For Romance' on top. I finally finished my adding a little heart in China Glaze's 'Red Satin'.

I'm not really sure I am happy with it but considering that was done in ill-efforts its ok. I just wanted something sultry and seductive. I think it captures the naughty side of both shows.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of... Unicorns

Hows your week going? I intended to post a lot sooner but I had something that was just picking at my mind. I knew how I wanted my manicure to look but getting it to it to look JUST like I had imagined it in my mind was problematic. Do you ever have that? Well after three attempts I can honestly say I want to eat my own hand, I am so disappointed. I am so unhappy with this look but wanted to post something for you. Maybe this is a lesson to myself because sometimes when I try too hard I seem to do awfully as opposed to when I am relaxed and chilled.

Please please, please, excuse the messy cuticles, the sponging was a nightmare to tidy up.

I started with two coats of China Glaze 'Light as Air' and roughly dabbed on Picture Polishes 'Twinkle' onto all of my nails. On all fingers apart from my Thumb and Middle finger I also dabbed on Picture Polishes 'Mirage'. I wanted this to be a rough dabbing of colour so it almost looked floaty and cloud like as opposed to a gradient blend. I then added NYX Girls 'Dreamy Glitter' and stamped in Nubar's 'White Tip' with the fabulous Nail Craze 02 Magical plate. The next thing I post has to be 100% prettier than this!!

What do you guys think of this look? Is it dreamy or just a mess?

Black And White Tribal Animal Nails

Hi guys!

How are you doing? Hope you've had a great start to the week. Today I have a black and white animal Tribal design for you. I'm a little bit 'meh' about this one and almost decided not to post it. I Decided to leave off the top coat on this one; I really wanted to add it to smooth the finished manicure out but I was so fearful that the top coat would drag and smudge the design! I came across this design on pinterest and had to try some of the cute tribal animal designs for myself!

I used Nubar's 'White Tip' (Which has now seen better days, I must replace this.. Whats your favourite white polish?) and Rimmel's 'Black out'. To do my tribal print design I used striping tape and Mash nail art pens. I also used the pens in black and white to create the animals and flower. Excuse the little bit of extra polish on my fingers. My bad.
I feel like I let myself down with this look.. If I attempt Tribal design's in the future I hope it turns out better! What do you guys think of this look?

Lets do Coffee Sometime?

Allo polish Pals and Happy Saturday to you all!

Are you having a lovely weekend? Bare with me, I'm still half asleep ~ I'm pre-coffee wake up mode! I have a question for you, yup you! Are you a coffee or tea person? I recently broke my old coffee habit since moving to Holland. Its my guilty pleasure. That said the latest discovery I've come across is Lipton's Blueberry muffin tea and omg it smells just like freshly baked muffins ~Yum!

So today's manicure is coffee based! I used a technique I saw recently to make the coffee mug into a decal. I had some trouble with it I wont lie. You can see the edge of the decal but over all I think its an ok first attempt!

On all fingers apart from my ring finger I used Klean Color's 'Coffee addict' and added some bronzey brown gems. On my ring finger I used Color Club's 'Normadic In Nude' and then applied my decal. For the decal I used Kiss's nail art pens and a small nail brush to paint the black outline. I then flipped it over and filled the white in with Nubar's 'White Tip'. I then added a dash more of Coffee Addict to the inside of the mug and added some white steam.

Opalescent Nails To Suit A Dress

Hope you guys had a wonderful weekend and a good start to the new week. Hopefully better than mine! I intended to post several times before now but I started my week out in total pain and it doesn't seem to be going away! Eesh! So Today's look isn't very complex but I think its quite cute.

Whats your opinion on opalescent nail polish? I've had this Herome sweetie in my untried stash for a little while now and I've been aching for a perfect use for it ~ And I found it.

I recently came across 'My Evening Dresses' containing some beauuutiful dresses! I was really amazed with the prices too, I'm thinking I ought to treat myself to a few new dresses because I think I'm going to be in for a shock once summer hits Holland. Its going to be a change from my past English summers! I really liked this dress and thought these simple stamped nails would go with it beautifully.

I used two coats of Herôme's Copenhagen and stamped with Nubars White Tip with the BM323 plate. Simple! What do you think? I personally love Copenhagen as a polish but I am often scared of using opalescent polishes in case my nails are stained and I am just so used to wearing brighter polishes!

What do you think of this look? Do you think it would suit the dress well?

Dramatic Dotticure

I hope you all had a fantastical long Easter weekend. Did you get up to anything exciting? It was just a quiet weekend here for me. Of course I had to crack out the polishes and have a play around. I love feeling inspired, I have some ideas up my sleeve I am looking forward to actually trying!

Today I am showing you a pretty simple but effective dotty manicure.

I started off with my usual base coat of OPI's Nail Envy before adding two coats of Art Deco's 'Iridescent Butterfly Wings'. This is a truly beautiful yet tricky colour to photograph! I'll be doing a full review on it when I get round to it (The review and swatch list is growing) I then added a diagonal coat of Nubar's White Tip (My personal fave 'to go to' white polish) before finally adding one thick coat of Essie's 'Bobbing for Baubles' and taking to the tips again with White Tip and a dotting tool.

I did this look a long long time ago but I used Zoya's 'Yummy' which was a very striking bold look. I think this is still striking and eye catching but 'Iridescent butterfly wings' and 'Bobbing for Baubles' work beautifully together. Before I finished this look I was playing around and the two colours paired right next together create something quite beautiful.

Soft Kitty.. Warm Kitty..

Happy mid-week to you all, I hope your having a good day. Today I am showing you a look which was incredibly experimental. I've never used nail strippers before and I finally decided it was about time to do some more freehand nail art. A couple weeks ago I was looking around the local drug store when I spotted just the cutest shower gel bottle. It was a great source of inspiration!

While there are many things I am not so happy about with this mani I still think the colours worked very well together and practice makes perfect right?

Nails Inspired By... Nike

How is your week going? Mine has been interesting for sure! It seems like my luck is on an up. Have you had a busy week so far? Today's nail are taken from a random source of inspiration. Footwear! And more specifically Nike. I've currently got around two pairs of sports footwear and one of those includes a worn out pair of running shoes which admittedly hasn't seen the running time they had hoped ~ Oops. I saw some Nike shoes which inspired me. I love the colour combination and thought it would look Caa-ute on nails!
