Freehand Acrylic-Gradient Rainbows & Tribal Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I didn't really get up to much.

I did a little painting (sadly nothing too special) and had a huge tidy up of my painting corner, putting away polishes I'd been using recently and just generally maximising my small space by reorganising where certain things live to give myself more room and easier access to all my photography equipment. It wont be a struggle to get my pictures done now!

Today's nails are very... meh. I did this completely randomly, if I am honest with you. I didn't have any clear idea where I was going with this, it just came to be; And with poor planning always comes a manicure where one thing just doesn't 'fit'. That'll be my middle finger. I don't know why I did what I did.. or why I did it so badly!!

For this manicure I began with my usual base coat from Mezmris Nail Lacquer called 'Armor Up'.
Once this was dry (blink of an eye, shake of a lambs tail. Very fast!) I applied two coats of Catrice's 'Generation whyte' and decided that this time.. I wouldn't just cover her up with acrylic paints! I applied a coat of Pro-FX top coat and once dry began creating very light grey sections on my nails using acrylic paint. Again using my acrylics I then began to block out the colours of the rainbow and carefully mixed shades in between to blend the colours together and create an acrylic-gradient.
I finished it all off with Mezmris Nail Lacquer's top coat, 'Armor'.

I'm not too happy with this one, I mean.. I like the gradients because I enjoy doing gradients with brushes and I like rainbows.. but I should have taken more care with everything else. The lesson learnt is... Don't paint in the dark. Don't paint before I've thought my idea's out!

What do you think of my tribal/rainbow manicure? Have you tried gradient using acrylic paints?

Hope you guys have a wonderful day, thank you so much for visiting. I'll be back on Wednesday for some more nail art fun!

Day 16: Tribal Nails

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope your all well and had a good week so far? I can't believe we're already half way through the week and I apologise immensely for the lack of posts. It was one thing after the other this week, I created a manicure I was so proud of only for my batteries to completely die. And so did the next four batteries. And the next four. They were really not intended for my power hungry camera! Finally I have my post for you and its day 16 of the 31 day nail art challenge which calls for... Tribal Nail Art!

Opps.. Please excuse the slightly purple hue to my ring finger... durrp!

As you can see I decided to go down a different route for this tribal nail art; Since I had already done a few tribal manicures in the past I wanted to try something else.

For this manicure I started by applying two coats of Yes Love's white polish for my base and created an alternating gradient of pink and blue on each nail using Model's Own 'Bubble Gum' and Gabrini's 'no4' neon blue. I then used a mixed of white and purple from my Oumaxi paints (Via Sammy Dress) and Kiss nail art stripe pens in 'Soft Blue' and 'Pink'.

I'd also just like to remind you that you can follow my blog on twitter and instagram, come follow along if you are not already.

What do you ladies think of my tribal manicure? Do you think gradients and tribal can work together?

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Free Bird ~ Freehand and Feather Fail-a-cure

Allo polish Pals!
Hows the beginning of your week going? I was far less productive today then was really needed, I guess it was the Monday feeling! Today I'm going to cut straight to it and show you something I created over the weekend. I'm not loving this. I originally started with the design in reds/copper but it just didn't seem right... I then created this. I then started over with the same colours to improve what I saw as flaws... That didn't work out well and I hated the pictures even more than these ones. Eeh! So I am really curious to see what you guys think of this.
I started with two coats of Fogan's 06 on all my nails except my ring-ding finger. On top of this I created stripes using KleanColor's 'Coffee Addict' and Picture Polishes 'Sky' with a nail art brush. I later added the pattern using black Acrylic paint (which to me looks faded and patchy in places – my fault!) and Kiss nail art striper in black. On my ring-ding finger I applied Coffee Addict and added a real feather on top. You see I used no striping tape as I intended to show you just the patterned version where you wouldn't see where the colours meet..

Maybe I took too many risks... I still really like these colours together so perhaps I will try something else with them. ~ What do YOU think of this manicure?

Have a lovely evening!

Freehand Tribal/Doodle Nails!

Allo polish Pals!
Happy almost-weekend to you all! Have you had a good week? I can't believe its a week tomorrow that I'll be going back to England! I can't wait to catch up with the family :) Today I have a 'different' look for you today that features a mixture of tribal design and random entire freehand doodles. I'm not really sure how to describe it to you so lets just move onto the pictures, eh?
I started with two coats of Model's Own 'Pukka Purple' on all nails and used different nail art brushes to add stripes and shapes with Picture Polishes 'Marine' and Essie's 'The More The Merrier'. To add the lines and patterns I used a mixture of Mash nail art pens and Kiss nail art striper pens.

I did the manicure last night but took the pictures this morning which explains why you may see what looks like some bits are missing.. Opps. I'm quite happy with how effective it looks when I look down at my hand but if there was something I had to pick on it would be my ring finger as I'm not happy with how the triangle type shapes look.

What do you guys think of this look? Do you like purple and green together?
Hope you guys have a fantastic Friday!

Black And White Tribal Animal Nails

Hi guys!
How are you doing? Hope you've had a great start to the week. Today I have a black and white animal Tribal design for you. I'm a little bit 'meh' about this one and almost decided not to post it. I Decided to leave off the top coat on this one; I really wanted to add it to smooth the finished manicure out but I was so fearful that the top coat would drag and smudge the design! I came across this design on pinterest and had to try some of the cute tribal animal designs for myself!

I used Nubar's 'White Tip' (Which has now seen better days, I must replace this.. Whats your favourite white polish?) and Rimmel's 'Black out'. To do my tribal print design I used striping tape and Mash nail art pens. I also used the pens in black and white to create the animals and flower. Excuse the little bit of extra polish on my fingers. My bad.
I feel like I let myself down with this look.. If I attempt Tribal design's in the future I hope it turns out better! What do you guys think of this look?

Have a great day!
Love
Ithi
