How are you all doing today? I hope you had an amazing start to your week.

I'm just getting back into routine, my weekend trip was amazing. Storm Brian actually wasn't too bad where we stayed. We had showers and strong wind but it didn't rule the weekend or leave us trapped in doors like we had feared. I had to stay in a bunk bed because my sister was worried the kids might fall out of it if they stayed in there and I am pleased to tell you I only bumped my head once! I'll add some pictures to the bottom of the post for those of you who are interested!

On to nails now though, today I am going to be showing you some 'Eyes Gradient Water Decal' from BeautyBigBang.com – I've got a few more reviews after this one to share with you but then I have decided to no longer review for the BornPrettyStore or Beautybigbang.

Colourful Freehand Jazz Nails

How are you all doing today? I hope this week has been going well for you so far.

I've been feeling super, I've so much more energy since I started working out and taking better care of myself. I feel so much more positive, its great what a good pattern can do for you! I'm literally just enjoying everything, I look forward to going to *early* bed so I can get up and have tomorrow!

Today's nails are again prompted by the weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas. This time our theme was Jazz. In case you didn't know (and it is pretty random, so I forgive you if not!) April 30^th is international jazz day.

At this point my mind did an absolute blank and I had no idea what to paint; And then.. I turned to myself and said... “Ithi, If Jazz was a colour, what colour would it be?”

The answer my friends.. Is.. ALL OF THEM!

While I did this nail art I had access to more space which meant I could leave my light studio intact as I painted. As a result you can see this in different stages of its creation! Wahoo.

 I decided to go for a really bright and bold background using my 'felt tip pen' brush to add different shades of acrylic paints on top of each other. I really liked how this looked, even on its own! 

I decided to add some pieces of gold leaf/foil to represent the colours of the instruments. I didn't want to go painting them indivudally but I felt like I needed something to represent them still.

This is what I call my typical line up for anything containing rainbows! I can't help it, guys. Its an addiction. Rainbows, rainbows, more rainbows!!

Freehand Parrot & Feather Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope this weekend has been going great for you so far? Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you have not already, its open internationally so everyone has a chance!

I've been having a great time with my family - I've been doing a lot of babysitting as my Niece is now off school for the Easter break however its not hard work, she may only be six but she's a delight to spend time with and what I love is that she doesn't want to sit in front of the Tv! We've been doing glitter craft projects, board games, playing in the garden!

Today I have another design for you which was created for the weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas – I love that these prompts are pushing me to do things I might not normally do. I had a whole kafuffle over this week's bird theme – mostly as I tried to paint this just before leaving for my trip home to England.

Eventually I created something I was satisfied with however, tragedy struck. For some reason my top coat looks like it scraped away the acrylic paint.. how... why?! I have come to love and depend on my Pro-FX top coats so I am praying that it is a one off and maybe somehow I made a mistake I don't usually. Weird, right?

I was still really pleased with my parrot though (even though his eye patch had also turned pinky - why?!) so I decided to share it with you guys anyway. I am going to call him Monty :)

I didn't use anything too excited or unusual for this manicure, I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, Armor Up and once dry applied two coats of my Barry M 'White' nail polish. I allowed a little more time to dry and added a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat to create a nice smooth barrier. I then moved on to my acrylic paints and brushes to create the parrot and details. Finally I finished with another coat of Pro-FX and eventually applied a matte top coat too just for shiz and giggles!

Super Soft Pastel Colour Wash Nail Art

How are you guys doing today? Are you excited that it's Friday already?! Tell me what plans you've got going on :) I don't really have anything planned and I feel ok with it. I feel like this will be a great time to actually get organized with my posts and get some more freehand nail art done – Yep. I feel content with this plan!

Today's nail art was created this week (Blimey Governor!) even though I still have nail art to share with you from before my trip to England. Its... different. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing, you guys can decide once again!

For this manicure I began with Mezmris.Nail.Lacquer's base coat (My nails are really enjoying this, they look so nourished!) in blink of a second it was dry so I applied two coats of Barry M's 'White' and allowed to dry. I then took my acrylic paints and mixed a few pastel shades together and began dabbing squares of each colour onto my nails with a flat brush until my entire nails were covered in messy coloured strokes. Next I took white paint and metallic white paint to mix on top using the water colour technique (You can see my tutorial *here*) which sort of soften the look of all the coloured squares. My last and final steps were to apply Mezmris Nail Lacquer's top coat. I love the shine and gloss this provided but this really was a matte-approved manicure only! So I followed through with Catrice's 'Matte & More'.

What do you guys think of this manicure? A beautiful mess or just a chaotic shamble?!

Black & White Vintage Mickey vs Colourful Modern Mickey - Freehand

How are you doing today? I hope you have had a great weekend, do you have anything nice planned for the weekend? I'm hoping that very soon I will be able to give you an exciting announcement. That's all I'm going to say for now but I am busy planning something!

Today's nails are inspired by both the modern and classic versions of Mickey. If you didn't know, the classic version of Mickey was created by Mr Walt Disney back in 1928 so the original cartoons were in black in white. Of course as technology advanced Mickey went through several upgrades to his current state which we all know and love in colour.

I really wanted to bring both of them together on my nails. My first version had different accompanying nail art but I felt like this one shows the transition from black and white to colour better.

I began with my all time fave base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' and created a nice clean canvas by painting NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage'. For my water coloured nails I used acrylic paints and cotton buds – You can see my tutorial here. I then used my favorite Bundle Monster and Edinburgh Realism brush to bring the two Mickey's to life. I finished with a coat of my Pro-FX top coat and added a coat of 'Wet 'N' Wild's Matte top coat because it seemed very fitting for the nail art!

I'm quite pleased with how these turned out. I had 'quite a bit of trouble with the Mickey's but I feel like it didn't come out too bad! Are there any other Disney characters you'd like to see on my nails?

How are you doing today? Are you ready for the weekend? It looks like a busy one for me with little painting time but I'm excited to spend time with my family. Today I have a really interesting glitter to show you from The Born Pretty Store. It's not what I'd call a typical glitter, you'll see what I mean. This glitter is so different from what I had expected, not in a bad way but it is very interesting to look at. I had expected solid pieces of shiny coloured glitter, ya know, traditional glitter but the outcome was very different. The powder pot size is approximately 10ml and is filled generously with the powder.

When I first saw this glitter I noticed it incredibly small and feels grainy like sand. It actually looks like grains of sugar as they do catch the light very nicely. I was really in love with the combination of colours going through this powder, pinks, yellows, blues. It almost makes me think of pretty cake toppers or birthday parties!
 

Welcome To The Circus ~ Pin Wheel Nails

How are you today? I hope you've had a great Monday and to those of you in England I hope you had a great Bank holiday, who doesn't love a long weekend? Today was really quiet for everyone here. My Niece and Nephew had visitors so I didn't get to play with them today and its just rained on and off all day which was a shame. But instead I decided to create something really bright using acrylic paints. I don't think I nailed my idea but I was told to post it anyway (Yes, I was repeatedly told it looks ok enough to post...) Here is my 'pin wheel' style manicure with a little extra animation.

I hoped to show it working as a spiral but I don't think it worked.

I originally had this idea for my new minty coloured polishes but in the end I decided to go bright and hoped that using acrylics would give me a smoother result than using polish.

On all my nails I applied China Glaze's 'Blue Sparrow' (This is amazing with a top coat, I'll swatch it soon) and created a simple pin wheel style pattern using my Oumaxi (Via SammyDress) acrylic paints. I finished this all off with OPI's Matte top coat.

What do you think of this pin wheel look? Would you wear this type of pattern and if so would you go for bright shades or softer shades?

I hope the weekend has been kind to you all? Apologises for my absence the last few days. I've had a pretty crummy cold as well as trying to juggle a few things!
