Colourful Freehand Jazz Nails

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope this week has been going well for you so far.

I've been feeling super, I've so much more energy since I started working out and taking better care of myself. I feel so much more positive, its great what a good pattern can do for you! I'm literally just enjoying everything, I look forward to going to *early* bed so I can get up and have tomorrow!

Today's nails are again prompted by the weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas. This time our theme was Jazz. In case you didn't know (and it is pretty random, so I forgive you if not!) April 30th is international jazz day.

At this point my mind did an absolute blank and I had no idea what to paint; And then.. I turned to myself and said... “Ithi, If Jazz was a colour, what colour would it be?

The answer my friends.. Is.. ALL OF THEM!

While I did this nail art I had access to more space which meant I could leave my light studio intact as I painted. As a result you can see this in different stages of its creation! Wahoo.

Here's some of the pictures taken during this paint session.  Click on them to englarge!

I decided to go for a really bright and bold background using my 'felt tip pen' brush to add different shades of acrylic paints on top of each other. I really liked how this looked, even on its own!

I decided to add some pieces of gold leaf/foil to represent the colours of the instruments. I didn't want to go painting them indivudally but I felt like I needed something to represent them still.

Wanna see what did I use to create this nail art?

This is what I call my typical line up for anything containing rainbows! I can't help it, guys. Its an addiction. Rainbows, rainbows, more rainbows!!

What do you think of my colourful jazz nail art? Have you created music nails before, if so was it for a select genre? - Also let me know if you want me to do more posts like this.

Thank you all for visiting, I hope you have a wonderful day! :) Don't forget to let me know what you think of this nail art. I'll catch you again on Saturday!

Freehand Sinterklaas Nail Art - Dutch Holiday.

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope you are all snug as you read this with a nice warm beverage!

You may or may not know that today is actually a special day for children in the Netherlands, today is the day that Sinterklaas comes! Who is Sinterklaas?...

Here's a little briefing – being an English adult, I've never personally celebrated this holiday so correct me if I am wrong! Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) a Dutch character beloved by children and adults in Holland. He is a very kind soul who care a lot about the well being and happiness of children. There's a lot of history behind it so if you are interested *I suggest you visit here* - it has short but to the point information! It's rather interesting!

I decided to paint Sinterklaas on his horse, 'Sleipnir' with 'Zwarte Piet' at the front carrying the sack of goodies as they go along the roofs of the houses.

For this manicure I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, 'Armor Up' for happy and healthy nails. I then applied two coats of my very old and gloopy Barry M 'White' – Really.. you should have seen what a mess this was, ha! Luckily I covered it with nail art! I then created an acrylic-gradient using my bamboo brush and fave acrylic paints. I then loaded my brush up with water and swiped the entire nails so I could then tap a little glitter to the tops of my nails (not the best method, I'm still working on this!) I created all the detailing with my fave Pure Color brush in size 9. I sealed everything in with my Pro-FX top coat and eventually added a matte base because.. I couldn't resist.

Have you heard of Sinterklaas before? Or do you celebrate it? There were several parts of this nail art I was rather unhappy with but eh...

What do you guys this of this nail art? Are there any holidays that you celebrate I might not know about? - I'm interested!

Have a beautiful day, my friends. Thank you for stopping by, don't forget to say hi! :)

Freehand Birds At Sunset

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope you are having an amazing weekend so far?
I've not been up to much, just the usual piles of sky-scraping laundry although Mr Bravo and I had a good horror movie night last night!

I've been stuck in a terrible artist block this past week. Sadly I've not made a single manicure I've liked. I am trying not to kick myself over it because normally when I let the anxiety and frustration go my flow just comes back. I'm really not a fan of the next few nail art pieces I'll be posting but of course I'll keep posting!

I created this one a short time before the challenges for the month of September where announced for Tiny Canvases weekly challenges. It just so happens on of the prompts was birds!

I don't have a lot to tell you about this one. I feel like it is terribly clumsy and.. well I'm just sorry about it.

I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer armour up base coat and once dry applied two coats of Barry M's 'White'. I then began creating an acrylic gradient using oranges and yellow shades. I then used my fine detailing brushes to create the birds and scenery. I finished it all off with my Mezmris top coat. I eventually added Wet 'N' Wilds matte top coat just for shits and giggles. Whoopsy, soap mouth.
I'm just not impressed with myself and that's how I'm feeling about most of my recent work. Its all lacking something to make it a little more special.. Hmm! Fingers crossed this week gives me back my passion and inspiration.

What do you think of my silhouette sunset? Have you had silhouette nail art before?

Thanks for visiting, I hope that you liked seeing this nail art. Have yourself a wonderful Sunday, a productive and happy start to the week and I'll see you again on Tuesday!

Freehand Tropical Planet With Acrylic-Gradient Sky!

Allo polish Pals!
How are we all doing today? I hope you had an amazing weekend?

I feel like my brain is exploding from far too many nail art ideas! I'm trying to keep up with them all before they get stale and foggy in my brain! I mostly had a relaxing weekend since I am still under the weather. I feel like taking a nap after everything I do..! Tell me, are you for against napping?!
I've also been having fun playing around with one stroke lately, the Bundle Monster brushes I got a while ago contain some very small square brushes which are perfect for it! I might not have perfected the technique but I feel like I am learning.

Today's manicure was made quite some time ago, I kept pushing it back because I had other posts! This came from... pretty much nowhere! I like it when that happens. Its quite a surreal manicure, I guess but that's fine. I like a bit of weird :)

For this manicure I began with my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and then applied two coats of Barry M's 'White' (While I still had it, boohoo. :'( ) I then applied my Pro-FX top coat, not really sure why. I just feel like it dries it faster and give a nice smooth surface. I created everything else with acrylic paints and finished off with Barry M's matte top coat (again, another boohoo.)

I really enjoyed painting the palm trees, how random. I can see more more more palm tree's for summer nail art. Yup. I'm going to make it happen!

What do you think of my surreal nail art? Do you like silhouette's in nail art?
Have a beautiful day, I'll see you again on Thursday! :)

Freehand Purple Starry Skies & Tree Silhouette

Allo polish Pals!

Come, sit down and help yourself to a cup of tea/coffee! How are you doing today?
Is there much going on with you? I'll be starting my day with a 3 mile dance-walk DVD (For the good all day feels!) followed by the boring housework stuff..but then.. I have two ideas sketched out and I am roaring to get going on some nails!

Today's manicure was inspired by the picture, it was very kindly sent to me by a lovely lady named Gill who is also in the nail community (TC, If you'd like the doorway to a loving fun filled nail art community just let me know!) I have become very attached to, Thanks Gill!

I accepted the challenge with great enthusiasm and while the end result does differ to the original picture I do really like it!

The City Of Colour - Acrylic Gradient

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I've been kinda useless the last couple of days.. feeling so poorly and just having no energy. I've not been able to eat as normal which is not like me! As crazy as it sounds I'm putting it down to January slummage. It may be the start of a new year but its a rough month - many expectations and the gloomy dark weather...

I hope you've been having a great week so far :) If not, just hang on! The weekend is in sight! Today I have a manicure to share with you that I'm totally undecided on.
I don't like it when I don't know how a manicure makes me feel. I want to be able to finish a long manicure and be pleased with myself, I'll let you guys decide.
