Thinking Pink - Breast Cancer Awareness 2015

Allo polish Pals,

How are you doing today? I hope your are having a dandy start to the new week? Its change, change, change for me - I'm in week 3 of being smoke free but now we are back in Holland I miss the solidarity I had with my Mum who gave up at the same time. I've not been tempted though! Maybe you guys can be my online supportive mummies? I kid, I kid. Its too much hard work. :)

Today we are going to have a more serious matter on the agenda. Breast cancer. As you guys are probably well aware, it is breast cancer awareness month but in all honesty it is something we should be talking about more, all year round. It may seem embarrassing to talk about boobs for some of us, but we shouldn't be shy, we are all the same, as different as we all are.

I want to send love to those who may have lost their battle with cancer, those who are currently fighting but also, and just as importantly I believe we should be educating our younger females. Its a harrowing fact that most of us will have an experience with cancer some way in our lives (I have a couple ladies up in the stars I pay tribute to) but keeping strong and knowing support is there can make a big difference. Knowing how to correctly check ourselves and knowing our own bodies is so important because the faster we can detect changes in our breasts the bigger our chance we have to beat it. There is great information here on how to check for yourselves.

For my pink ribbon cancer awareness nail art I used one simple polish, Cartice's 'Bel-Air' and created the rest with acrylic paints. I sealed it all in with Catrice's gel effect top coat

If you would like more information and support about breast cancer, signs and symptoms, diagnosis and more you can visit 'Breast Cancer Care' – but if you have concerns always go to your doctor as soon as you possibly can.

I hope you have a great day,

Pink Waves For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Allo polish Pals!
Are you having a good weekend? I'm so sorry for my vanishing act and I am a little behind on commenting, I promise I am doing my best to catch up with everything! I missed you guys...
Now...Today I am featuring a manicure to help raise awareness for breast cancer as many of you have done this month. I think it is so important to raise awareness for this cause and to honor the many amazing and brave women who may currently be fighting, survived or tragically lost their fight too early. Why is it important to raise awareness? It's crucial we educate our youngster's so that they know that it is good to know their bodies, to be comfortable checking themselves and the correct ways to do so, there is an easy to follow guide *here* Not only is it important to raise awareness for funding and research but an early diagnosis can really help catch cancer in time. I send my deepest and absolute love and thoughts to those who have been inflicted with this awful disease.

The manicure: I started with two coats of Yes Love's 'G12-1' (pearly baby pink) on my ring finger and continued with Essie's 'A Cut Above'. I then applied a matte topcoat and created the breast cancer awareness symbol, the pink ribbon. On all the other nails I started with Fogan's '16' (a bright metallic pink) and used a plastic sandwich bag to gently add the Yes Love pink, DA's '103', and Fogan's '16' and '11' to create a sort of arty textured look. I then used a light pink which I mixed from my Oumaxi acrylic paints to add some subtle wavy lines. I also decided to see how this looked with a matte top coat. I think I prefer it matte, it looks much softer!

Have you been raising awareness for breast cancer? - What did you do? What do you think of this very pink manicure?

Have a great weekend guys, I'll be more organized this week – promise!

Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Allo polish Pals,
How are you doing today? I hope your having a good week! Today I wanted to show you my nails which I created in awareness for breast cancer. As you are all probably well informed October is breast cancer awareness month and I wanted to create a suitably pink manicure for this post.
Its a tragic fact that at some point in our lives we may know someone who has breast cancer or even someone who knows someone who has suffered the disease. While medicines and research are constantly changing and growing in resources its important we raise awareness. Us girls have to stick together. Remember the small procedure to get checked can be the difference in the battle. We all know if cancer is caught early the changes of remission are greater, so please please please don't put this off. While there are so many tragic losses at the hands of breast cancer there are so many beautiful strong powerful survivors.

I started with two coats of Barry M 'Baby Pink' and layered it with Barry M's 'Rose Quartz' glitter. I then added three stripes using Kiss striper pens in white and pink. On my ring finger I applied two coats of Baby Pink and stamped using Pacific Rapsodi '22' and the BM 321 plate with the ribbon pattern.

Have you been supporting Breast cancer awareness month and how did you do it?

Love
