How are you all doing? I hope you had
an amazing week and have something fun to look forward to this
weekend, or even just enjoy it chilling.
I had some news this week, today and
yesterday I went back to work at the place I had been working at in
December. One of the friends I made there reached out as she is
having a family issue and needs to travel to another country. She
suggested I could maybe take over her role while she's away so of
course I said yes because I wanted to help her. While I'll only be
there temporary I did enjoy the job immensely and it'll get me out of
the house while I continue looking for work.
In other news..Tomorrow is St Patrick's
day so of course we need to don some greenery on our claws for the
occasion!
How are you all did-ling? I hope you
had an awesome weekend, did you get up to anything fun? The weather
here isn't permitting much outside fun but I had a cosy weekend, I've
got stuck into a good book and I kind of can't put it down. Its a bit
of a Bridget Jones type thing, very relatable!!
Since I'm not really into the whole
Valentine's smoosh I decided to do another sort of.. anti Valentines
day manicure. No glitter, no pinks and red and NOPE to heart shape
chocolates..
I used my new camera for these
pictures, she's taking some getting used to as well as my light
backgrounds. I'm not too sure, what do you guys think? I hope they
are crisp and sharp.. The focus situation is really odd.

today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend? Did you get up to anything
fun?
Me and my sister took the children to a big play park that looks like a pirate ship on Saturday, the weather has been beautiful - it feels like summer is already here! Sunday was pretty dandy too, I got to have one of my Skeebab's (Mum) roast dinner followed by a nice walk in the sunshine and later on I did some painting.
Today's nail art is another manicure
inspired by another weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas! This week our theme is
elephants since April 16th is 'Save the elephants day' and
rightly so! These beautiful creatures have enough to endure without
poachers and hunters.
For this manicure I
decided to honour one of my most favourite elephants, Lumpy the
Heffalump from Winnie The Pooh. I included a clip in case you've
never seen Lumpy before, he is AH-dorable!
The polishes I used for
this manicure are Barry M's 'Kiss Me Quick' from the quick dry range
'and Rimmel's 'Peachella'. I wasn't really sure what to pair with my
Heffalump so I created some sort of scruffy looking flowers.. er. I
finished it all off with my Barry M Matte top coat.
If you guys are
noticing my pictures may be looking a little different to usual I do
apologise. I've just been gifted a new DLSR and I have little to no
experience with this type of camera – I'm also still in England so
I don't have my usual photography set up. I am excited to try the
camera with my set up at home!

Today's nail art is
inspired by another weekly challenge prompt over at Tiny Canvas (Come
join if you are looking for a fun, friendly, no drama nail art
group!) Our theme this week was Crayola nail art as it is actually
'Crayola Day' on the 31st of March.
I'd have liked to have
shared this nail art closer to the date however I've got posts I can
not shuffle around!
I've got to thank
Crayola because they are probably the first proper art supplies I
owned or used (as a kid, obviously) I used to have huge collections
of wax crayons and pencils. So thanks Crayola for sparking my
creativity at such a young age!
I began with my OPI
'Nail Envy' base coat for this manicure.
This nail art is simply
freehand on a base of Barry M's 'White' nail polish. This time I
really tried to make it look as though there are shadows underneath
the crayons to add more depth and make them look 3D. I finished this
one off with my Barry M matte top coat which finished off the job
beautifully – I think the matte finish really suits the waxy
crayons!

Today's nails are again
for the weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas! The themes are so fun
that I want to take part with every single one!
This time our prompt
was Mario as March 10th is in fact 'Mario Day'.
I bet you didn't know that?! So of course here's my little Italian
plumber and friends!
Just
FYI.. My dad is a heating engineer/plumber. When I was really young
I truly believed he went down pipes and fought goomba's all day after
watching the tv show!
For
this manicure I used my OPI Nail Envy base coat and began with two
coats of Barry M's 'White' polish...which I then proceed to cover
with acrylic paint! That's the most descriptive info I've ever
given, I'm sorry.
I'm
quite happy with how these turned out though, they were super fun to paint
and certainly bought up a lot of old memories – another one being
the fact my sister is 7 years older than me and we (or she, I think
it was actually hers..) had once of those really old grey gameboy's
(pixel Mario!) she'd do really well and get to a really high level
and either get bored or frustrated and pass it over to me. Of course
I was really young and the levels she left me on were super hard so
after a second of un-pausing the game I was dead!
What do you think of this Mario nail art design? Did you play Super Mario Brothers growing up or did you prefer other games? I don't play games much anymore unless its at friends or at a party etc, but isn't this coincidental timing with the new Switch console coming out?

I just thought I'd let
you know also that from now on I'll be posting Monday's,
Wednesday's and Saturday's. I've always been pretty
organised with my blog but posting every other day felt a bit too
fast sometimes. Creating nail art and posting it, I was keeping up fine
but I couldn't really get ahead of myself as much as I'd like.
Did you know that
tomorrow is Mardi Gras? According to Google its also called Shrove
Tuesday – Which is what I and my fellow English call it, although
Mardi Gras translates to 'Fat Tuesday' in French (Yes, I always try
and do my homework on time!) The 'Fat Tuesday' references the last
night celebrations of eating richer and fattier foods before the
ritual fasting of the Lent season. It is mostly celebrated all around the world in different ways.
Also in this post I'd
love to introduce you to my dear friend, Jodie. She's an absolutely
lovely lady and it was her idea to get together for our second twin

If you didn't know,
today is Australia day! - Yes really! One of the challenges this
month over on Tiny Canvas was Australia day nails and I couldn't not
join in, could I?!
I wanted to be more
adventurous but to be honest.. with everything that is going on
offline and in my personal life I'm just proud I managed to produce
something on time!
I decided to go for two
national animals of Australia, the koala bear and the kookaburra
bird. You guys know I love animals and nature. I also added the sea
because... well.. Australia <3 p="">
I used all acrylics for
this nail art besides my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base 'Armor Up', Barry
M's 'White' and Mezmris top coat, 'Armor'. Of course I had to include a matte version - I can't decide which I prefer most..glossy or matte... Hrrm.
Australia is on high on
my list of dream locations I'd like to visit one day, Where's your
most desired country you'd like to see one day?

Allo polish Pals! Hope you are all
having a good weekend; Happy Tartan day! Did you know that today is
tartan day? I'm not sure I've ever owned a piece of tartan but I
decided to pay tribute with a tartan manicure for today's post.
Tartan day was created to celebrate the well known pattern and
Scottish history. I hope that one day I will get to see Scotland
because it looks so beautiful from what I've seen. Just a quick post
today so we'll get onto the manicure!
I'm not proud of this manicure at all,
I think when you freehand lines your setting yourself up. You think
lines are simple but when you see a few little mistakes here and
there it is so easy to critique it. Anyway... I started with
Fearne's 'Cherry On Top' on all my nails and created the tartan using
Fogan's White and green (I forget the shade numbers but I'll update
this) and Barry M's 'Gold Foil'. I finished this off with a lashing
of Model's Own top coat.
