3D & Freehand Sushi Nails

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? I hope you've been having a great week so far. I'm looking forward to this weekend as I worked last Saturday and bank holiday Monday meaning I missed out on all the delicious sun we were having – of course its just my luck that the weather seems to have changed.

All that said I've been having fun at work, I've had so many lovely customers and experiences.

I've been rather excited to show you today's nail art, I've been itching to post it sooner! Sushi is one of my all time favourite foods but its not so easy to get good sushi where I live...still, I found another way to enjoy it!

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an amazing weekend – what did you get up to?

On Saturday evening I went to my sisters for a cheeky Chinese and wine evening, I always love catching up with her. Don't get me wrong, its great spending time with my niece and nephew but sometimes its also nice to have proper grown up sister chats!

I've been painting (I'm well into the last week of June on my blog schedule!) and organising my blog posts out, I think switching my posts to twice a week will really take pressure off working and blogging. I feel like this way I can do what I love and work without any stress. I think I found the perfect balance!

Do you have a way to fit blogging in whilst balancing other aspects of you life? I'd love to know, I always find how people do their blog schedules so interesting.

Yves Saint Laurent Freehand Nail Art Design

How are you all doing today? I hope the sunshine has made an apperance where you are. Its been a beautiful few days here in the south-west of England. I've been working every afternoon this week but I still get time to soak some of the sun up along the way.

I don't know about you but I am looking forward to the weekend! I've got a few nail designs planned and ready (always good to feel inspired and ready to paint!) and catching up with my family. Hopefully the sun stays the course!

Today's nails are a tribute to Yves Saint Laurent and my lovely girl Brooke who is the YSL account manager in the store I work in. One of the good things about my job is I get to see what all the high end brands are bringing out and get to try things out. Brooke is an amazing account manager and I love watching her do her magic on her customers, she had been suggesting I do some YSL nail art for a while so I finally did it!

Freehand Soot Sprite Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going well. I'm working most of this week – means I get Saturday off, wahoo! I'm already trying to work out what I'll be painting on my days off although when it actually comes to it I find my oompf is lacking. Just like on Sunday, I started painting some beach hut nails and I just couldn't make myself finish it. My heart wasn't in it..

But today I have some cute little soot sprites to share with you, I used to love Studio Ghibli films such as Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away.. And I always thought those little soot sprites were so cute! So I've captured them!

Freehand Art Inspired Nails - Painting Of A Painting

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? I hope you've had an epic week - tell me did anything interesting happen to you? OH the stories I could tell from this week.. lets not go there right now though!

We had a few new fragrances come into work so I've been testing everything, getting to know the notes in each perfume and doing my homework so I can advise customers as best as possible.

Today's nail art was inspired by the concept of art within art. For that I painted what can be used to make art and also a miniature painting in a frame. Good job I've got a steady hand as painting within the space of the picture was pretty small and fiddly!

You'll notice I am using a black background for these pictures, this nail art was done towards the start of the year but I kept postponing it :)

Freehand Jewels On Shaded, Stamped Nails

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing on this..thrilling Thursday?! I can't say mine will be too thrilling but I'll be out the house. Do you have anything awesome going on at the moment? Most exciting news I have is.. Bike rides! Ride, ride, ride! I don't want to go anywhere any other way now, I love Doris. I'm planning on taking my original camera out one day - its a bit grey/super hot/stormy here atm and very unpredictable and then I'll try some Panoramic pictures.

Today's manicure... is... different. I wanted to try mixing acrylic and stamping together to create something interesting. I am not sure if I made a 'good interesting' or just a bad manicure!

My aim was to shade my nails, painting greys and blacks around the nails and fading into white at the center (much like a radial gradient but done with acrylics and brushes) I wanted to give the nails a sort of 3D look. You can judge for yourselves if you think I achieved that.
As always I started with my OPI 'Nail Envy' base coat. For this manicure I began with two coats of NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage' for my white base and added a coat of Pro-FX for a speedy dry time. I then took my acrylics and painted the edges of my nails various shades of grey and keeping the center's white. I then took my Born Pretty Store 'Black Stamping' polish and stamped each nail using my 'FUN16' nail stamping plate. Next I added a black border to all the nails and freehanded little diamonds to each other the nails, trying to shade them to look 3D. I also added Catrice's 'Matte & More' which gave it a really interesting pinky sheen!

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this nail art, I do feel like it has a sort of...Disney Villain look look about it? Maybe Malicicent would wear this grungey nail art?!

What do you think of this nail art experiment? Yay or nay?!
Have a wonderful day, I'll catch you on Saturday!

Love
Ithi
