Guys, just a warning.. There's a lot of change going on, I'll still be posting for now but my posts will be incredibly short and I wont be posting to all my socials from now, I will probably still post to Facebook and Instagram at the least.

Did you know that yesterday was 'ice cream soda day'? Apparently so! I on the other hand though.. seemed to paint ice cream sundae's rather than soda's!

How're you all doing today? Did you have an awesome weekend? I hope you got up to something fun, or even just spent time recharging your batteries.

I had the day off on Saturday and I had a really relaxing day. I had intended to paint in the morning but I just wasn't feeling it so instead I used the time to have a good tidy up, do some reading, do some 'homework' for work and sort out my blog posts. In the afternoon I went with my sister, mum and niece and nephew to help my sister get some plants for her garden. Overall it was just a really lovely chilled out day.

I'm working every Sunday now but I actually rather like it. I can be surprisingly busy but when its not it feels quite calm and I crack on with some dusting or organising. I've started packing my tablet and notebook so that if I miss the bus and need to wait an hour for the next one I can go grab a coffee somewhere and do some blog scheduling, brain storming and general organisation.

I've another landscape for you today, my favourite type of painting. I feel like its becoming harder and harder to come up with landscape ideas, I can't possibly have done everything, can I?

How are you all doing this week? I hope everything is going your way so far.

I'm so excited for tomorrow night, I'm going to a Kaiser Chief and Blur tribute evening with my sister. I don't really go out much like this so its going to be fun! The only downer is that its cushioned by an early start at work on Saturday so I think it will be straight to bed, get up and run to catch the bus on Saturday morning. I can do it, I got this! Perhaps consider me out for the count on Sunday though!

Today's nail art is inspired by another one of those random 'days' in the year, which has already passed us (opps) the 16^th of May is 'Rescue a horse day' so I wanted to create a very free and relaxed looking horse enjoying his enviorment.

Two more days left at work and then a nice two day weekend. I got pulled into work last Sunday, I received a phone call from my manager about 9.30am. I was already up.. but I ummed and ahhed.. I figured that they must be really short staffed to call me in so I went into work.

But this weekend I am looking forward to two whole days of family time, painting and of course the royal wedding is this weekend. I DO want to see what Meghan's dress is like, is anyone else curious?!

Today's nail art is...er. Hit and miss and very experimental. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Today starts a full week at work – I normally work 3 to four days a week but this week I'll be covering a colleague. More hours is good news and they are actually short shifts which means I'll be able to work out every day before work – yes!

I wanna know, how do you guys balance out different aspects of your life? Do you put aside time for things like exercise or do you just fit things in as and when available time comes up?

Anyway, time for some nail art!... If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a big surprise..

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an amazing week – tell me your highlight from this week. Today I am off to work but I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

This will be my last weekend at home as I have agreed to work Sundays. Its all day but its extra hours which is good. I'll also be pretty much on my own in the fragrance department and apparently they wanted me to do it as they know that I know my stuff. Quite flattering.

Because of this I have decided to cut my posts down to twice a week. I want to be as organised and as well planned as always so I feel that changing my post days will help me achieve that and keep the blog flowing as well as it has been (obviously more hours = less painting time but I feel I can keep up if I switch it a bit) My new posting days will be Monday and Thursday which will start next week and into the beginning month.

Today's nail art is summoning up all the visions of spring one could possibly want – where did our sun go by the way?! Look at this little piggy enjoying a nice mud bath! He looks pretty happy, don't you think?

Dodo Island - Freehand Nail Art Design

How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going well. Today I'm back to work this afternoon which means I can have a pretty chilled morning, have a nice bubble bath and get ready in leisure. Although I really enjoy the longer work shifts, the day feels like it goes faster and there's a longer break. I really can't manage to make a cup of tea, eat and do anything else in fifteen minutes. Do you always get the same amount of time on your breaks if you work? I'm not complaining though, I love working!

Now... I'm going to share something really special with you but you have to promise to keep it a secret, ok? You've all been lead to believe that the beautiful dodo is extinct but that's not quite true. Here is a cave on Dodo Island where you can see with your own eyes that dodo's are all good and well!

Why must it remain a secret? If you look closely at the cave walls you'll see speckles of gold. Dodo island is literally crammed with gold everywhere. If we spread the word before long the miners, gold collectors, criminals will come to the island and destroy the peaceful habitat of the dodo's..

So we let them keep this island the way it is, they live in families and tend to prefer caves although if you walk along the beach you'll see so many of the youngsters playing together.

I didn't get up to much at all, I played around with some new make up I picked up at work, I love testing products out. I recently switched up my foundation to Bare Minerals and I am loving it so far. Today and until Tuesday I'll be spending some time editing posts, creating new designs before I head back to work on Wednesday.

Did you know that yesterday (Sunday 8th April depending on when you are reading this!) was 'Unicorn day' – no joke. It really exists. I've painted quite a few unicorn designs in my blogging days so I decided to shake things up a little by making a zebra-corn!

Not much to report from my little world, I'll be working from today til the end of the week - Saturday is the job interview. Fun news, I am looking forward to seeing the new Peter Rabbit movie with my niece, nephew and sister next week, I used to love Beatrix Potter as a child.

What else is new?.. Hmm.. I've been playing with lots of new eyeshadows, my love for colour isn't stopping at my nails!

Today though I am bringing you a little slither of spring on my nails, this little bunny has stepped out of his house to take a little time to enjoy some sun time. Catch those rays little bun-bun, soak up all that vitamin D!

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend.

I worked on Saturday and enjoyed a nice chilled Sunday with my family - although I felt quite unwell so no painting for me but I used the day to get myself organised in every way – a bit of cleaning and sorting, sorting out my outfit for work today, getting posts edited and organised, make up brushes washed and so on. I did get to have a delicious roast lunch though!

I had a very odd customer interaction which I'll tell you about. I work in fragrance and cosmetics so this response really threw me..

Me: “Hi there, do you need any help at all?”

Male Customer: “I have a girlfriend! She's over there, I have one!”

Me: “Uh.. Ok... then..”

What!? No idea.. I just left him to it!

Today's nail art is.. well. A bit silly, really. This came from a suggestion from my sister and four year old nephew, they asked if I had ever painted a train before. My mind started imaging a train with carriages and something sat inside them. For some reason I painted really tiny, weeny teedy bears – if you are wondering why they don't have faces my answer is – have you tried to paint faces on bears that small?! :P

How are you all doing? I hope you had an amazing week and have something fun to look forward to this weekend, or even just enjoy it chilling.

I had some news this week, today and yesterday I went back to work at the place I had been working at in December. One of the friends I made there reached out as she is having a family issue and needs to travel to another country. She suggested I could maybe take over her role while she's away so of course I said yes because I wanted to help her. While I'll only be there temporary I did enjoy the job immensely and it'll get me out of the house while I continue looking for work.

In other news..Tomorrow is St Patrick's day so of course we need to don some greenery on our claws for the occasion!

How are you all doing today, is your week going well? I feel like I blink past Monday and Tuesday, before I know it we're at hump day. That said its great news if you are looking forward to the weekend and already counting down the days.

Today I have a follow up nail art – have you met Bertie Mcburtlebutton and Ms Blueberry-Baebae Bouffant? They are a couple I've featured in my nail art before. So far they've gone on two dates and poor Bertie has so far failed to impress his lady friend – gotta love a trier.

So far they went on a boating lake in which Ms Bluberry-Baebae had to eat the Marmite and cherry sandwiches he'd packed.. yum. On their second date he took her for a walk around his stately garden.. How much can go wrong there? Well he fell in the pond for a start.

For some reason I guess he thought taking her water skiing would be a fantastic idea for a date. They won't get to talk much so there's little risk of him saying something embarrassing.. He can show off his epic water skiing skills... Maybe not.

Freehand Rainbow Tree Nails

How are you all doing, did you have an awesome weekend? Yesterday was Mothers day here – I know in other parts of the world Mother's day is later on in the year. I love my mum so much, we are incredibly close and I value her greatly. I bought her a bouquet of lilies and roses which she loved. Sunday afternoon we went to my sisters house (she literally lives a minute away) and they cooked a roast dinner which was lovely.

Today I have another rainbowy concoction for you. Sorry, but I can never get enough of rainbows. Rainbows make everything better!

I also tried an experiment with this nail art, with some acrylic paint I watered it down to create a metallic shimmery wash (just to swipe over the nails to add a little shimmer) – I added some holographic glitter to it. Since it was in a watery mixture it didn't stick to the nails perfectly but trying new things is always fun!

How are you doing today? I hope your week is going well and the sun has made an appearance for you. There's still a little snow here dotted around but the sun has said hello and that makes me happy!

I think its safe to assume I didn't get the job I interviewed for... Surely I would have heard by now. Its sucky but I wont give up. I'm applying to everything I can. Someone asked me why I am not training to become a certified nail technician. Well the reason for that is because courses are not cheap so I need a job to at least be able to save before I can do that. The dream is still there though!

Today I have some nail art that looks a little more spring like.

Tropical Oasis Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an amazing week, did anything interesting happen in your world?

Yesterday it snowed so much, I've seen snow, I've played in snow as a child but only ever a few inches. If you are not from the UK you may not be aware of 'The Beast From The East' – basically most of the UK is under a amber/red alert because of the snow and winds from Storm Emma... Mind you, I've been wrapped up nice and warm. I might make a snow man today.. ya know.. time to kill. 

How is your weather at the moment where you are?

Also.. news on the job front: There is none. I have no idea what to think.. I guess there's still time to call, maybe the weather has changed things or maybe right now I have already been scribbled off the list as unsuitable for the role. I just don't like not knowing!

 

Lets set the scene for today's nail art... 

You've been walking through the desert for what feels like hours.. You're tired, hot and bothered and just about ready to give up.. but wait! What's that?! Could it be?! Just over in the distance..it looks like an oasis! Aren't you thankful you have your swimming costume/bikini on under your clothes now! But wait.. Is it too good to be true? Is this a beautiful tranquil oasis..or simply a mirage?

How are you all doing today? I hope this week has started off well for you.

So.. I had my interview on Monday, thank you so much to those of you who wished me good luck. It went well, I arrived early and it literally only took 10 minutes or so. I was confident and feel I did the best I could but - and here's the sucker.. At the end of the interview the man told me he had had over 50 people apply for the role... dang.. There's nothing I can do now but wait. And paint. We'll see what happens.

Today's nail art combined two of my favourite things, rainbows and unicorns. Childish? Pss. I just don't think you can ever have enough colour in life. Colour inspires me, I may not be the best at pairing sophisticated colour combinations but its always fun trying!

How are you all doing today? I hope you've had a fantastic weekend, are you ready for a new fantastic week to start? Abit of good news, I am attending a job interview this afternoon, fingers crossed for me please, I'd really like to work at this place!

Today's nail art is another one from last year (told you I schedule my blogs insanely!) I know I keep mentioning my stubby nubby nubbin nails but these do look really short compared to what I am used to! These do fit in with the current theme over at Tiny Canvas which is daisies.

I've also added a tutorial video below on how I paint this style of flowers. I find them quite relaxing to paint - roses on the other hand, argh! Frustration city!

How are you all doing? Can you believe we're at the last weekend of February? Honestly.. where does the time go?!

Today I am bringing back my short nubby nails since these were painted last year. My sister came up with the idea of a Viking ship design. I loved the idea but once again feel like my execution wasn't on point.. Mind you, I am always pretty harsh on my designs aren't I?!

How are you doing today? I hope you are having a great start to your week?

I bet you didn't know that the 22nd February is 'walking the dog day'? There are all sorts of bizarre and unheard of days through out the year, sometimes they make great inspiration for nail art. Obviously if you have a dog you should be walking him/her every day but I guess today is a sort of celebration in the joys of dog walking.

I no longer have a dog and I dearly miss my last (even now) We've always had Golden Retrievers and they will always remain dear in my heart. I still love to go out walking but I miss a furry companion to share those moments with, I was forever talking to them whilst walking and had so many fun times.

I do remember one time when my last Goldie who was absolutely brilliant off the lead (usually) got distracted – he had a thing for balls and the direction I had taken us lead to a rugy match in the next field. I was SO scared he was about to run off and steal their rugby ball, can you imagine how embarrassing that would have been with about 200 people stood around watching? Would I have to had chase him around the field to retrieve their ball?! Luckily he behaved but I knew he had a little laugh at my panic.

How are you all doing? I hope you had a nice relaxing weekend and feel refreshed and ready for a new week? I didn't really do much, I didn't really paint anything either, most of it was spent job hunting and organising things...

Which reminds me I really need to take stock of my nail polish collection – would that be something you'd be interested in seeing? I'd like to cataloge them all so I know exactly what I have, its also a good chance to de-clutter and throw away any ancient and dead polishes that are beyond saving!

Today's nail art is one I have mixed feelings about. I'd say my head was about 60% focused on this design, I think I got a little lazy and uninspired half way through.. opps. I think it shows in the swan terribly!
