Day 19: Galaxy Nails (A very poor attempt with pigments)

How are you today? I hope your having a sparkly week so far? This is just going to be a quick post for me tonight since I am feeling a little worse for wear and I am utterly ashamed at this manicure! Day 19 of the 31DNAC means galaxy nails and I love creating pigment nails so I assumed I could combine the two however the end result has me just...horrified...

On my thumb, index and pinkie I applied two coats of Barry M's 'Plum' gelly polish. My other two fingers began with two coats of Barry M's 'Blackberry'. While applying my second coats I added my pigments (From Pureluxe and Meow cosmetics) I finished this with a top coat and added some 'stars' with my white acrylic paint from Oumaxi (Via SammyDress)

There's no two ways about it. I hate it. I don't know what happened, I've created some really striking pigment manicures before and while this looks so nice in natural light my pictures just look... bleh. The colours just look murky in my opinion..I guess you can't win always.

The 31 Day Challenge: Day 4 - Green

Allo polish Pals!

How are you today? I hope you are well! I've been a busy little bee so far this week, I like being productive! I'm also really excited as me and Mr Bravo booked our tickets to England last night. We'll be going for three weeks in August ~ I can't wait to see my family, its been too long!
Today I am continuing with the 31 day challenge and day four requires green nails. I decided to create something quite 'earthy' looking which included eye shadow pigments and glequins! (The next day will be blue nails – Yeah, I can't wait!)

On my index and ring finger I began by applying two coats of China Glaze's 'Smoke n' Ashes' and topped it off with Sinful Colors 'Call you later' which is a gorgeous green glitter. I then used my Oumaxi acrylic paints (From Sammy Dress) and created a few leaves, I finished these nails off by applying a few glequins to the edge of my leaves. On all my other nails I applied two coats of Pupa's 'Pearly Green' and splashed on some green loose eye pigments – Now that I look at it its not as sparkly as I would have liked but it does remind me of moss!!

Chinese New Year Freehand/pigment Nail Art ~ Year Of The Horse!

How are you doing today? Are you glad its the start of the weekend? Have you any exciting plans? Today I have some festive nail art to share with you! This is for Chinese New year, the year of the horse! I decided to combine two of my favorite nail art techniques ~ Freehand acrylic paints and pigment eye shadows. I just really hope I got the Chinese symbol for horse correct.. Tomorrow I will be back with a swatch and review. On all my nails I started with two coats off Fearne's 'Cherry On Top' ~ Oh my god. I can't not believe the shine on this polish, it really reminds me of glazed cherries! I then took China Glaze's 'Infra-red' and dabbed this on using a cellophane bag. On top of this I then added a little of my favorite white-gold pigment. On my thumb, middle and index finger I created some freehand nail art with black acrylic paint. I also decided to try this in matte too just for fun.

A big thank YOU! Pigment Hearts!

How are you all doing today? I have to start this post by saying a huge huge thank you! Over the weekend I was lucky enough to witness the #ShareTheLove movement on Facebook; I have found so many new wonderful blogs to love and share. I am so grateful for all my current facebook fans and for all the new people who joined me over the weekend. You helped me reach two of my long term goals which I didn't think I could ever achieve. I went from 61 likes to 220 and I can not thank you all enough <3 b=""> It really has meant so much to me.

Not My Best Pigment Nails but hey...! Love hearts!

On all my nails I applied China Glazes 'Smoke and Ashes ~ Although you wouldn't know it!'. While the polish was still wet I applied various eye-shadow pigments in green and blues. On my ring finger I applied one generous coat of Essence's 'Cool Breeze' glitter (One of my absolute favourites!) I finished off by adding a few dots and hearts with black acrylic paint.

Frosty Flowers ~ Pigments and One Stroke Attempt

How are you doing, are you nearly ready for Christmas?! I've been having a great time here in England, it's been great to see my family. Today I got to spend the afternoon with my three year old niece who is such a sweetie! Since I have hardly any nail polish with me I decided to try some more acrylic paint flowers. I have to say that I'm hit and miss on this manicure. In real life it looks interesting and quite pretty when the gleequin hit the light but in the photo's where they don't shine much it looks rather dull. I'd like to have seen this with a matte top coat.. but yeah, I forgot to pack that too...

On all my nails I started with two coats of Rimmel's 'Blue Eyed Girl'. I then used a mixture of blue and purple eye shadow pigments on top of the wet polish. I attempted some 'one stroke' flowers using white and acrylic paint, added dots to the center of each one and finally placed a few silver gleequin's in around the flowers. On my index and ring finger I added a simple tiny flower.

What do you think of this manicure? Success or disaster? I'm having to try and think of very creative ideas since I lack the appropriate tools!

The Pigment Nails Tutorial Is Here!

Allo polish Pals! I hope you are all having the best weekend and taking some time to chill out! I'm just here drinking coffee, contemplating what possibles colours this week will surprise me with..Luckily most of my chores are done, Waaahey!

Anyway, while I am not posting a proper post today (Stay tuned for tomorrow.. The Dysfunctional Rainbow

How are we hanging? :) I'm pretty damn glad its Friday because this week has been quite surreal and tiring, phew. Do you have any nice plans for the weekend? Quite frankly I am looking forward to cosying up with a new episode of The Big Bang Theory. Yes ~Please! Over the weekend I intent on creating a tutorial on how I do my pigment nails for you but for today I have another one to show you. This time I went pigment overload!

I started with two coats of W7's Black and using a fan brush did my best to splash the pigment on in horizontal lines. I repeated the process maybe twice using a mixtures of MAC an Pureluxe pigments. I finally topped it all off with a good smoothering of Seche Vite's topcoat.

I actually had one of those crazy manicures moments with this one, you know when your not sure about something you've done so you find yourself staring at it constantly! In the light it looked quite interesting :) Sometimes I thought it almost looked like a foil!

What do you think about this pigment rainbow gradient? Will you be trying a pigment manicure soon? The tutorial should be up by the end of the weekend :)

Moonstone And Black Rubber ~ Pigment Manicure

How are you doing today? I hope your having a fantastic weekend! I was a little pampered this weekend, being treated by my Partner. Greek food, so delicious! My weekend has been filled with nail polish, wine and reruns of Desperate Housewives. Deary me! Unfortunately my nail polish adventures where a little lack-luster which is why the post was delayed. I knew just how I wanted something to look so I wouldn't stop until I got there!

For this manicure I started with two luscious coats of Barry M's Gelly 'Prickly Pear' and added various pigments by Pure Luxe on top with the intent of creating a colour shift similar to a moonstone/opal (When I move my hand in the light I can see it!) I then added very slim French tips in W7's Black and added Model's Own Pro matte topcoat on top.

I really wanted a a strong contrast between the shimmery pigments and I think I achieved that with the slightly out of place tips! Only one thing bothered me a little.. You can still see a tiny bit of shine on the black but I could get so picky.

Pigment Splash

Happy Sunday, are you having a fantastic weekend? We're just having a lazy day in today which is nice, Isn't that what Sunday's are for?! Today I have an unusual look to show you. I once attempted this last year and it was disastrous so I never got around to posting it. But today I think it turned out much better!

I started with a base coat of Opi's Nail Envy in matte (Rather liking the matte version as much as the original!) I then applied two coats of W7's Black and while that was still wet I added Pure Luxe speciality pigment eye shadows on top.

I am sort of undecided on this look, I know I am going to be trying some more like this in the near future. I do regret not bring all of my pigments from England ~ I guess I remembered the idea a little too late!

What do you guys think of this look? Have you tried using loose eye shadow on top of polish/
