Allo polish Pals!

How are you doing today? Happy Hump day to you. It doesn't feel like hump day to me as today I am back at work until Saturday, what an odd working week, don't you think? Still I am excited to go in and see everyone, sale some gorgeous perfume and serve some fabulous customers.

You can not imagine my surprise when a delivery man pulled up at my door last week. I hadn't been expecting any parcels so I assumed that it must have been a delivery for my dad. As the courier man was preparing the electronic signature machine-thingy I saw it. Those sexy bold letters on the side of the box, calling me seductively. O R L Y -  I gasped SO loud that the man jumped back and genuinely looked very bewildered. Awkward...

Do you know what I love about ORLY? They can take a classic idea such as pastels and completely turn it on its head. You wont find any streaky sherbet yellows, no sheer mint greens that'll end up probably unused and unloved in this collection (Ok, I actually like those last two types of polish but this collection is far more fun!)

Metallics are the furtherest thing in my mind when I think about pastels. Metallic pastels? How can the two marry together? Well.. I'm not sure how those little angels in the ORLY HQ managed it but they sure did because this collection oozes with sophistication and sexiness. Prepare to meet a pastel collection unlike any other!

Huge thanks to my star Sophie and the ORLY team for sending this collection along for me to review and the beautiful and thoughtful card!

Just so you know.. this video resulted in my tea being filled with glitter rsequins!!

Allo Polish Pals!

Happy Monday to you all, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend? I really didn't do much at all, I am turning into some sort of lumpy potato lady with no get-up-and-go, or a slug with the productivity of a lump of mash potato. I get all the boys, I get all the boys..I'm one sexy slug. Ok, I'll stop being weird (Like I can turn that off!) Seriously, I swear its all this grey gloomy weather. I can't wait for spring to come and brighten everything up.

On the plus side, I've got some more beautiful colours to show you from ORLY's collection, Breathable. These can cheer you up on a cold and winter-y day!

Here's a little reminder as to why I'm obsessed with the Breathable collection..

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope this week has been going well for you so far.
I'm excited..and I was a little bit naughty. I had been thinking about getting myself a new camera for blogging for quite some time and I kinda just did it. I'm not an impulse buyer at all, I'll watch and read reviews of products before I consider buying anything electrical usually, so fingers crossed this new camera is going to meet my expectations.

Today I am bringing you part 2 of my ORLY Breathable swatch and reviews, if you missed part 1 you can see it right here. Another huge hug to sweet Sophie for making it possible for me to review these. I've been so impressed by their forumla.

Just a reminder of the health benefits this collection can be proud of:

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today, my loves? I hope you've had a good week. Do you have anything exciting planned for the weekend? I swear being unemployed sucks after working, everyday feels the same – I'm still looking and keeping myself plenty busy in the mean time though.

Today I've got something quite exciting to share with you. A massive big thankyou to the lovely Sophie and the team at Graftons for allowing me to showcase ORLY's brand new collection for you, which I'll tell you has some stunning shades! The new collection is called 'Breathable' and I'll be showing you all 18 shades over the course of three posts. (nail art lovers, there will be nail art posts in between!)

My Year In Nail Art - Round Up Post!

Allo polish Pals,
How are you all doing today? I hope you are all doing well.
Are you still having some quiet time at home or have you had to go back to work? - At least it wont be long until everyone gets a nice New Years break.

Speaking of New Years, I have some nail art coming up for New Years Eve but I thought today as an almost end of year post I would do like a general round up of how I've enjoyed blogging this year.

I feel like this year has been the best year yet, I feel like I've got things grounded, I don't get in too much of a flap trying to keep ahead of my blog posts which is a great feeling compared to some of the previous years. I've also learned a lot in this past year. I've tried new things, loose glitter has become a firm favourite when I combine it with my freehand.

So this is a lot of talking, isn't it? I've decided to show one manicure from each month of the year. I had a couple of months I found it really hard to decide which manicure was best, lets take a look under the jump!

The Little Mermaid Nails - Freehand

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancin'
Walking around on those - what do you call 'em?
Oh - feet! ♪

Inspired by two pins on Pinterest which you can see HERE and HERE.

For this manicure I began by creating a gradient using Picture Polishe's 'Wisteria', Sally Hansen's 'Lilac Heart', I also used a polish from Yes Love and Collection but I am failing right now to think which ones! I then created – or attempted to paint Ariel with acrylic paints. I finally sponged on a little of of Barry M's 'Glitterazi'. I finished it all off by applying my Nail Girls top coat.

I'm actually deeply unhappy with this manicure. There where bubbles and the glitter..doesn't look like glitter at all! Its not...as magical as I wanted it to be. I think more shimmer or sparkle in the sky somehow would have improved this manicure, what do you think?

Have you done mermaid nails before? What do you think of my attempt to paint Ariel?
Have yourself a swimmingly good day!

Freehand Acrylic Henna Flowers - BPS Brush Experiments.

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? A while a go (and this is testament of how much I love the Born Pretty Store) treated myself to a few more goodies. Among them was *this* bamboo detailing brush. I got mine for just $1.95. I had been looking for a good brush to do extra small things with and I can tell you I am not disappointed. I'm still getting to learn how to use this brush. In trial and error I discovered that the brush can hold a lot of water if I didn't blot the tip enough but I decided to have an experiment and to share it with you even if the manicure is not so...wow.

Not as neat as I would of liked but that will come with practice I hope :)
I only used one coloured polish for this manicure. I started with my beloved Nail Envy by OPI and applied two coats of Collection's 'Fool's Gold'. I then used OPI's matte top coat and attempted to create a Henna inspired manicure using black acrylic Oumaxi paint and my new brush.

To look at this manicure in person it was quite striking, I thought. However the camera has pointed out so many things I hate about this mani. Still, it was fun to mess around and play with my new brush. We're going to have a lot of fun together.

What do you think of my freehand Henna manicure? Do you have a favorite tool for creating manicures?

Have a great start to your weekend!
Love
Ithi
