How are you all doing today? I hope the sunshine has made an apperance where you are. Its been a beautiful few days here in the south-west of England. I've been working every afternoon this week but I still get time to soak some of the sun up along the way.

I don't know about you but I am looking forward to the weekend! I've got a few nail designs planned and ready (always good to feel inspired and ready to paint!) and catching up with my family. Hopefully the sun stays the course!

Today's nails are a tribute to Yves Saint Laurent and my lovely girl Brooke who is the YSL account manager in the store I work in. One of the good things about my job is I get to see what all the high end brands are bringing out and get to try things out. Brooke is an amazing account manager and I love watching her do her magic on her customers, she had been suggesting I do some YSL nail art for a while so I finally did it!

And a very Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you have a wonderful day, be it celebrating with friends or family, enjoying a lovely meal together or if you are going out – whatever you plans I hope it is a super special one!

Also on the plus side.. Yesterday was an awesome day for me. A customer called me adorable and then work told me they want to keep me on after Christmas. I wont be down in the cosmetics/fragrance section, I'll be upstairs working in woman's wear. I'm so happy!

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an awesome weekend, did you get up to anything fun?

I had a lovely birthday on Saturday, it was quiet and cosy but just perfect. Since I wont be able to see my niece in her school play (she got a main character role!) she did a performance of it for me, she may be only seven but I was so impressed with how well she's learnt her lines.

In the evening I had a cheeky Chinese and wine with my family. There was also time for some nail art which is good as I've lost my day off today and will be working pretty much non stop through Christmas, minus actual Christmas day of course.

Today's nail art came from a lack of inspiration.. I feel like I am not producing my best work lately, I'm not sure if my creativity is a little damp from working but hey. It'll come back!

Today I have a review and a video for you. I 'm checking out Born Pretty Store's '1.5g Born Pretty Holographic/Gold Nail Flakies – 1mm,2mm & 3mm Round Nail Sequin Paillette's' – again with the long titles but that's ok, I'm not saying it out loud!

Pink & Blue Dotty Nails & Oversized Bows

How are you all doing today? I hope you had an awesome weekend?

I attempted to film a nail art video yesterday and I'm still feeling the hand cramp. I am just not good at trying to paint with my hand in unusual positions although the way I do paint is probably not how everyone else does it. I think managed to get some shots in focus though so fingers crossed I'll be able to post those soon. It's all practice, I guess! I've a new tripod on the way!

I also finally decided to stop bugging myself and buy a damn desk lamp. It's getting darker earlier and earlier here in England, on a gloomy day its becoming harder to paint. Night time painting isn't even an option. So now I can actually paint whenever I want! - what an exciting life I lead, haha.

Today's nail art is actually a couple days out since I had to rearrange my blog posts but on the 15^th September it was 'International Dot Day'. Yeah, really, its a thang. I love finding out about all these wacky and unique days.

Anyway, I figured dots are something most people can do on their nails so I decided to incorporate it in to the Tiny Canvas weekly challenge for this month (I've been taking care of the theme for a couple months, its fun!) I love to join in with the members and do a design for each theme too so here is my dotty manicure. Somehow I feel like this looks rather sophisticated for someone like myself. Like... I'm used to colourful children-book nails.. It feels weird seeing such a uniform design on my nails!

I had a very indulgent weekend, now its time to get back to normal! This week also starts 4 weeks of looking after my niece on and off during the school holidays. I love spending time with her, she's funny and clever and always so well behaved. I don't watch a lot of tv with her but I thought we might watch The Little Mermaid.. my only concern is.. I cry at everything Disney related!

Today I have another review from URSugar. I'm taking a look at '6ml Metallic Gorgeous Metal NailPolish' in Gold.

I had an interesting time with this polish and boy.. If I hadn't of applied it for a second time this review would be very different. This is a mini 6ml nail polish and looking at the bottle this polish looks gorgeous, its a very soft metallic peachy gold that looks very promising.

How are you all doing today? Can you believe we all climbed to the top of the week and now we're all sliding down the weekend slide?! Wahoooo. I hope you all have something fun planned.

After a week of feeling a little up and down and banging my head against the wall I *may* have found a college course for nails! It seems perfect, 1 night a week for 16 weeks to get a lvl 2 certificate. Wahoo, I hope luck is on my side and it is possible!

This month in Tiny Canvas the weekly challenges are all thought of my moi, I had fun coming up with themes I thought everyone would enjoy. I tried hard to think of themes that everyone would feel comfortable in taking part in. I love it when lots of members join in, its fun to see everyone's designs.

The first prompt I thought of was abstract & 3D elements. I told them to all go nuts, there's no wrong or right in abstract art!

I basically just carried on as I have been! Walking outside a lot and working out hard. I've actually really been enjoying my exercise.

Born Pretty Holo Nail Polish in #6 - Born Pretty Store Review

How are you all doing today? I hope you are looking forward to a fun weekend?

I don't have any plans but I feel fine with that this week. I feel like going wherever the weekend takes me!

I have to say a huge thank you to all your concerns and kind words regarding my 'pre-diabetic diagnosis'. There was some really sweet comments and I promise you all I am taking good care of myself now. If I am really honest I hadn't taken care of myself after what happened at the beginning of the year, I was skipping meals and not always eating the right things (Bad, bad, do not copy this example) but I had started to get myself together before my trip home and I am now doing tons of active things and eating really healthy which my body feels so thankful for. I will have to go back for another test in three months but I feel positive I can change the out come. :)

Today I have a holographic nail polish in #6 to share with you from The BornPretty Store. I think I've gotten a little better at photographing holo polishes, thank goodness for the sun! 

This nameless but numbered (#6) polish is a beautiful warm golden peachy champagne shade with a very strong holographic effect. I'd say this is perfect for those who want warmer shades but don't like an overly flashy solid gold colour.

This is a 6ml sized nail polish so you could consider this to be a mini bottle.

The polish itself is in fact very sheer and I did have to apply four coats to achieve full opacity however it is fast drying and it took me no time to build up the coats. I wore this polish for around four days (blimey, that's like a month in Ithi years) and protected it with my Pro-FX top coat and had no chipping or obvious wear.

Conclusion? I absolutely love it. If I wasn't frequently taking my nail polish on and off I could see this sitting on my nails for ages. Its a very flattering shade, even when not in direct sunlight. The holo pops out beautifully from the delicate base and overall it makes me think of fine weather - summer nails, anyone?

Mardi Gras Twin Mani with @Jodies_Nailz

How are you doing today? I hope you had a fab weekend, did you do anything exciting?

I just thought I'd let you know also that from now on I'll be posting Monday's, Wednesday's and Saturday's. I've always been pretty organised with my blog but posting every other day felt a bit too fast sometimes. Creating nail art and posting it, I was keeping up fine but I couldn't really get ahead of myself as much as I'd like.

Did you know that tomorrow is Mardi Gras? According to Google its also called Shrove Tuesday – Which is what I and my fellow English call it, although Mardi Gras translates to 'Fat Tuesday' in French (Yes, I always try and do my homework on time!) The 'Fat Tuesday' references the last night celebrations of eating richer and fattier foods before the ritual fasting of the Lent season. It is mostly celebrated all around the world in different ways.

Also in this post I'd love to introduce you to my dear friend, Jodie. She's an absolutely lovely lady and it was her idea to get together for our second twin manicure for Mardi Gras. Please go and check out her IG @Jodies_Nailz – She's a seriously skilled stamper with kickass manicures!

Freehand Fluffy Birthday Bear Nail Art For @TheHumbleBear!

How are you all doing today? I hope you are looking forward to a fun weekend, do you have anything nice planned?

Do you remember last year I came together with an amazing artist for a collaboration on Instagram? I'm talking about the wonderful Beverley Fu, Aka TheHumbleBear. Did you see the countryside twin manicure we did together last year?

I consider Bev THE bear of nails.

Beverely is such a beautiful young lady (and a fellow mod over on Tiny Canvas!) and yesterday it was her birthday so a group (or several groups!) of us got to celebrate and wish her a wonderful day in the only way possible – bear party!

For this manicure I used flocking powder because really there are not many times or designs that call for it but its always fun to do something really different every now and again. I felt it would fit this theme perfectly. I used Layla's as a base for my flocking and this time I used a little foil glue to adhere the flocking. I found this worked much better than top coat which I had only ever used previously.

For my beary nails I used two coats of Essence's 'New York City Call' with a smudgen of Polish Me, Royalty!'s 'Unicornicopia' for a sexy drizzle of holo glitter.

My bear was created with brand new brushes that were sent to me as a gift from a dear sweet friend. I used a Christrio detailing brush and Winstonia's 'Rose Noir' brush. First impressions? Love, love love.

I'm quite happy with the contrast of the flocking to the painted nails, what do you think? I'll never get used to the feeling though, I removed them pretty fast after taking pictures!

Black, White And Gold Leaf With Freehand Stripes

I hope everything is going great for you so far, have you been up to much? Do let me know!

I've been doing so much walking, I've been averaging around 14,000/15,000 steps a day and it feels good!

Today's manicure is a fairly simple design that I created during the end of my visit in England. I didn't have a lot of time but I did want to create something. This was the product of that odd hour and a half. :)

For this manicure I began with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer base coat, 'Armor Up' (If you are in the UK and looking for a great top coat I highly recommend it!) and painted all my nails with two coats of Barry M's 'White'.

I then began drawing very thing grey lines with my acrylic paints and my beloved Pure Color brush in size #9. On one side of the nail I applied some varying sizes of gold leaf/foil and on the opposite side I filled it in with black acrylic paint. On top of this I added some alternating thin lines in gold paint. To give a little more variation to this manicure I freehanded a bow on my ring finger nail.

I finished by sealing everything in with my Mezmris Nail Lacquer top coat, 'Armor'.

I feel like this has a kind of classy monochrome look to it, I'm not sure why it makes me think of the great Gatsby/art deco look. What do you think?

Mezmris Nail Lacquer: A Christmas Cracker Swatch

How are you all doing? I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Today's post is going to be set up a little differently, since I got home late last night I thought we'd have a really chilled post. Even though I get my posts written up days before I need to post I feel like going easy, that's ok, isn't it?

I'll show you a super duper sparkler of a polish but I am not going to do my usual review style for this one. I'll tell you out right that is a smashing 10/5 stars.

Today I am showing you 'A Christmas Cracker' from Mezmris Nail Lacquer's Christmas collection.

Before applying this polish I first applied a coat of Mezmris Nail Lacquer's 'Armor Up' base coat. Mine had run out recently and I had been dying to get my hands on another bottle. My nails absolutely love the nourishing formula.

'A Christmas Cracker' is a beautiful holo polish with heaps of gold, silver and red glitter. Its an absolute dazzler and I don't think it takes much explaining as to how its become one of my top 10 in my entire nail polish collection. You'll see from the video I've added how beautiful the holo is in the light. It also applies incredibly smooth and although I thought I was going to need a lot of coats to get this to cover my horrifically yellow nails I found that two coats was absolutely perfect. I found the dry time to be equally as pleasing. Because I had extra time to kill I did add a third coat, why? I'm not really sure. I was besotted.. it was love at first sight. I followed up with Mezmris Nail Lacquer's 'Armor' top coat which not only set the holo off even more but also have it a very glossy and glassy look.

I feel like Mezmris have really captured the sparkle and magic of Christmas with this polish, for me it is everything.. its shiny crackers, its the twinkly star on top of the tree, its the sparkle of tinsel... Its just such a festive looking polish!

Freehand Rememberance Poppies

I hope you guys had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend!

You may or may not know but tomorrow is Rememberance day in England and while I am not in the country is it still something I still strongly believe in. I will have a one minute silence by myself tomorrow in a quite place.

 Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy day is on the 11^th hour, am, on the 11^th day of the 11^th month we pay tribute to our fallen soldiers from World War I and all those who lost their lives on the the line of duty wherever the battle field may be.

Since 1921 it has become respectable to wear a poppy pinned to your shirt/jacket in a mark of respect for those lives lost. Originally in 1921 people would wear real poppies, this is because Poppies grew through out the battlefields of Flanders; Their bright and vibrant colour became a symbol for the blood lost during the war. It is with deep respect that my generation and others have the freedom and lives we do.

For this manicure I bagan by applying Mezmris Nail Lacquer's 'Armor Up' base coat and once dry applied two thin coats of Barry M's 'Blackberry. I allowed to dry and then added a layer of Pro-FX's top coat. I used my favourite brushes to paint the poppies and added a little gold detailing. On my other nails I added a simple gold triangle stud from The Born Pretty Store (You can see my review on these HERE) I finished it all off by adding another layer or top coat and finally m Wet 'n' Wild matte top coat.

I'm not very good at painting flowers but I really wanted to do this manicure because it has so much love and respect behind it.

Freehand Sloth/Sloffee Cup Nail Art With Water Colour!

How are you all doing today? I hope you have some exciting plans for this weekend? Let me know – I love to know what you are getting up to, my naily friendies!

I'm super excited as my sister is in Holland on her holiday so Mr Bravo's Sister-in-law has very kindly offered to drive up to where they are staying and to put us up for a night! I've never been to this area, I've never camped..and I get to see family, again! I am so curious to see how they like Holland :)

Today I have a manicure I wasn't too yay about. However the friends I did ask for advice about it said it was really sweet and that people might like it even if I don't so here it is. Sloffee time! Grab yourself a mug! 

For this manicure I began with my usual base of OPI's 'Nail Envy' (last bottle is getting dangerously low! :'( ) and once dry I applied my NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage' – this was made before I went home and got to stock up on Barry M's! I then used a mixture of browns and golds to create a sort of coffee stained effect using the water method technique you know I love to use. I then freehanded Mz Sloth with my favorite brushes and acrylic paints.

I kinda wish this had turned out better.. but I'll let you guys be the judge. I am never happy when my writing is on my nails. I always think my writing looks sloppy but its not exactly the easiest thing to do! Maybe next time I'll try text decals!

10ml Born Pretty Store Chameleon Nail Polish in 221 - Born Pretty Store Review

How are you all doing today? I hope everything is dandy at your end? What was the highlight of your weekend? I love to know how you guys are getting on.

I'm back home in Holland now. I had a pretty interesting journey home...I'm pretty sure a girl took a picture of me at the airport!! I was sat reading my '201 ways to cure artist block' book. I was pretty engrossed in it but something caught my eye. There was a girl standing fairly close to me (there wasn't any reason to be so close, I wasn't sat next to anything.) she did something with her phone and scurried off! I turned around thinking there must be something cool behind me that I hadn't noticed but there was only a blank wall behind me... how weird?! 

Today I have the first of two Born Pretty Store Chameleon nail polishes to share with you. This is '10ml Born Pretty Store Chameleon Nail Polish in 221'.

This polish is recommended to be worn over a black base. I began with two coats of Wet 'N' Wild's 'Black'. I allowed this to dry and applied two generous coats of the BPS 221 nail polish.

The Colour & Shift ~ This polish is a multi-chrome that shifts beautifully between deep purple golds and even a slightly greenish shade. To say the colour shift it apparent doesn't quite do justice. I really love the bewitching and deep look of this polish. I also think that from certain angles and in certain light it has a slightly coppery look to it. It has a fairly watery consistency which allows for nice and smooth application.

Bottle ~ This polish comes in a 10ml rectangular bottle – certainly a good size and will provide many coats for your buck. Quid. Euro's. It's certainly enough to get plenty of enjoyment. I also didn't mind the brush. There was one single bristle a little longer than the rest but it wasn't too much of a problem.

Dry Time ~ I found dry time to be a little one the slow side, even with a glossy coat of my Pro-FX top coat but I thought it was totally worth it, I couldn't stop looking at my nails and in my opinion that's always a great sign that I really like a polish.

If you notice on my middle finger there are some bubbles going on there. Now... I don't think that it is because of the polish itself. Because otherwise the others would have bubbled up too so please excuse it, I think I was possibly a little clumsy with how much I had loaded onto the brush. I think this polish could have a tendency to bubble if you apply it too thickly.

Final Thoughts

Overall I am really, really impressed. Would I recommend this to Miss MCCrumpet? (Wtf?) Certainly if she's looking to expand her Chrome collection on a budget. These polishes retail at $6.99 each – reduced from $15 originally. That's a pretty sweet deal and a steel if you include my discount code!

Now... Since this is recommended on a black base I am super curious to see how this looks on top of white. Would you like to be part of that experiment? I am happy to do a post on it if it interests!
