Ithi In Space! DIY Dry Marble Decals & Freehand Nail Art!

How are you all doing today? Do you have any exciting plans this weekend?

Today I have a manicure to share with you that probably isn't the greatest but it was a lengthy process to get to its completed state! I have a before and after, then I'll explain what I did!

          *How do I manage to cleanup all the decals but leave traces of the freehanding paint?! Duhhhh

So I began this manicure by applying some regular top coat to an old piece laminate flooring. Its my poor man's 'Uber Mat' but you know what, stuff peels off so it'll do! I then began layering a mixture of Barry M's 'VIP', Fogan's glitter I forgot.., Lady Venezia Don't remember the name also.. (When I am sick I get stupid-brain) Color Club's 'Eternal Beauty' and TipTop Polishes 'Jazz Berry'. Next I took a tooth pick and began swirling the polishes around in no real order what so ever – skills, bahaha. I left all of this in a safe place to dry over night.

The next day I painted my nails with just my base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and carefully began to unpeel the decals. I trimmed them down to fit my nail length and rubbed them gently onto the nail. I used nail polish remover and a fine square brush to gently remove any excess from around my nails and cuticles.

I then added some freehand planets, stars and a little Ithi floating around in space (she looks nothing like me) I'm quite blah about the freehand stuff but I love the concept. I'll be doing more decals like this in the future, they look so interesting!

Freehand Northern Lights

How are you today? I had a lovely birthday, thank you so much for all the kind messages! Today we're putting the Christmas tree up - Yay, I've been waiting for this!

Today I have a manicure that I think looks a little weird, I don't really know why I tried it when I actually thought I wouldn't be able to do it, haha...uh.. Well I have it a go, that's all I can say.

Here is my attempt at a Northern Lights sky. Why didn't I add snow?! This would have been so much better with snow!

For this manicure I began with my favorite base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dried I applied two coats of Barry M's 'White' to create my gradient. I added some glue around my nails so I could easily peel off any mess left behind from my gradient. I then created my gradient using Catrice's 'Blurred Limes', Barry M's 'Damson' and Tip Tops Nail...I forgot the colour, forgive me! I then created everything else with my acrylic paints and bamboo brush and added a little sparkle from OPI's 'Snowflakes In The Air' for a finishing touch. As usual I sealed everything in with my Catrice 'Gel Effect' top coat.

This was my first time trying to do something like a reflection on water, I wouldn't say it was maybe the best attempt I could have done but I think it came out fairly 'ok'?

Where Will Your Dreams Take You? ~ Freehand Design

How are you today? I'm feeling much better today, thankfully! I have to put it down to all your kind comments, it must be good for my health, hehe. Today I actually felt brave enough to bring the acrylic paints out again and if I am honest this is probably my hardest freehand manicure ever. I got the inspiration from this beautiful illustration I found on Pinterest. I decided not to include the houses at the bottom of the picture but I like to imagine that the little boy and girl are actually tucked up in bed and fast asleep, perhaps this is where they have adventures in dream land. I also really like to think of them as my Niece and Nephew who I absolutely adore.

I started with two coats of TipTop Nail's 'Lilac Blue' (I think its called...) and added a gradient using Sally Hansen's 'Resurrection'. Everything else is created with my favourite bamboo brush from The Born Pretty Store and Oumaxi Acrylic paints.

In reflection... I'm pretty happy with this and the idea of it. I wish the sails looked a little neater and to my bare eye I assumed it was – But hey. I'm only human and right now my back is aching after my poor painting set up (in case your curious I paint sitting on the bed with a cardboard box for a table.. so you can imagine!)

Blue, Grey And Green Organized Bling

I hope you all had a fantastic New Years? Did you do anything special? We had a pretty quiet night but it was actually really nice :) I started the new year off in good spirit and have already worked out twice – go me! Tonight I am going out with Mr Bravo and my sister and brother in law; Mr Bravo has some new swanky darts he wants to test out so we will be going out to the pub; I'm looking forward to going out. Today I am sharing with you a design I did a few days ago, I think its a bit odd actually... But I'll let you decide!

For this manicure I began with George's 'Oh La la' on my index and ring finger, I then created a gradient using Essie's 'Chinchilly' (Oh my word, so much love!) and added a small sequin (glequin?) to the top of the nail. On my remaining nails I created a diagonal blocked colour look using striping tape and the previous nail polishes – On the tips I used Tip Top Nails 'Jazzberry Blue'. I finished these nails off by applying more of the sequins around my nail.

I do wish I had got my sequins applied in a more neater and uniform way but I quite enjoyed wearing this manicure, even if only for a day or so! I think my gradient could have been smoother too but ah well :)

Christmas-y Poinsettia

How are you today? Less than a week until Christmas! How are you feeling about this? Do you feel prepared? Have you got everything ready? I still need to do a few things and wrap up my presents for the children. All is good! Today I have a manicure which is partly dedicated to my Mum (Or Skeebab as I call her) She used to love having poinsettia plants in the house at Christmas, the trouble was she is terrible with potted plants. No matter how well she tried to care for them they never last long! So here are some Christmas-y poinsettia – A popular flower for Christmas!

 

I was lucky enough to win a set of three blue polishes from TipTop Nails so I used 'Jazzberry' Blue on my index and pinky finger and Seventeen's 'Navy Glint' on my remaining nails. I then layered on Catrice's 'Glitz Carlton' on top. Once everything was dry I used OPI's matte top coat for a nice smooth base and painted on my flowers using Oumaxi acrylic paints. I finished off with OPI's top coat and added a few gold beads with Model's Own's Artstix nail beads.
