How are you all doing today? I hope you had an awesome weekend?

I am enjoying my day off before a full week of work, I've got loads of hours this week as our store will be doing Black Friday sales and late night Christmas shopping begins on Thursday – exciting!

So far I've not been able to do much freehand in between shifts – simply because the time I do try I am putting too much pressure on myself to do something good. I am sure I'll get back into it but either way I've still so many posts to share with you guys.

Today I've got a combination of 3D gel and freehand, this little cat looks like he's waiting for the rain to stop. My own cat baby has been spending a lot of time inside sleeping as it gets colder outside.

How are you all doing today, did you have an awesome weekend? I spent time with my family and yesterday, us girls and little Albie (3 year old nephew) all went out for lunch and some back to school shopping. The weather wasn't on our side but it was fun none the less!

We've kicked off a new month of weekly challenges over on Tiny Canvas, I always love doing the weekly challenges along side the members but I feel like this month is super fun! Our current theme is cats! Since September is also Happy Cat month it seemed like a perfect fit.

So I've got some cats for you, I 'ave!

How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going well so far!

I can't believe that on Sunday I'll finally be going home to see my family. I'll be gone for two weeks and after being apart from them since the beginning of January I can't wait to spend time with my Niece and Nephew..and everybody! I'll still be posting though. You know me, I've always got something floating around here!

Today's manicure is also another random idea that came from nowhere. This is... The cat fairy. He's a bit of everything, he helps keep the forest running smoothly. He'll do tax forms for mice, clean the tree stumps, dealing with general inquiries. But everyone needs a break sometimes... so here he is taking a little nap!

For this manicure I began with my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dried applied NYC's 'Williamsburg Vintage'. I created a purpley blue acrylic gradient using my brush to blend the colours through. I then used my acrylic paints and favorite brushes to freehand my cat nail art (wow, helpful information, Ithi!) I added Wet 'N' Wilds matte top coat just because I could ~ Just a side note, a dear friend of mine recently sent me some Wet 'N' Wild polishes, they are pretty darn awesome!!

I kinda wish I had done something differently, for example the 'shadow' under his wing really bugs me. I did the best I could with the eye situation I am dealing with!I also regret adding the brb text but ah well, ain't gonna cry about it!. :)

Freaky Friday The 13th! Black Cat Stamping And Dry Brush

How are you doing today, are you looking forward to the weekend?

So today is Friday the 13^th which means absolutely nothing to me, I'm not a very superstitious person (except on the journey to Mr Bravo's Nan's house where I have to see two specific things on route – I know, I'm quirky. If I don't see them I feel like its going to impact the day, lol.)

As you guys also probably know by now..I am a crazy cat lady without an actual cat. I do however have a beautiful boy in England called Mars, short for Marshall who is a black, shiny and so sweet. He lives with my parents and I know he is spoiled, pampered and cared for well, so while I miss him I know I don't have to worry too much.

I read recently that black cats can be chosen from pounds/rescue centers last simply because of the superstition surrounding black cats... I think this is so sad, Mars is just as lovable and loving as any cat could be, so I wanted to celebrate the 13^th by doing black cat nails, because they are just as awesome.. Down with cat discrimination!

For this manicure I began with my usual base coat of OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry (the blink of an
eye) I applied two coats of Catrice's 'The Sky So Fly'. On my ring finger and middle finger I decided to do some black cat stamping using Born Pretty Store's Black stamping polish (Click this to see my review) and the awesome BPL-025 stamping plate also from the Born Pretty Store.

On my remaining nails I did some dry brushing with Claire's 'Splash', Mary Kay's 'Blue Lotus' and the purple shades from the Essence 'Wake Up, Spring! Tie Die set.

To complete the manicure I added a black border using acrylic paint and topped it all off with a coat of my Pro-FX top coat.

Freehand Marie From The Aristocats

How are you doing today, my friend? How is your week so far?
It looks like I'm going to have a much busier week than usual - yay! Tomorrow I will be going to help out at a family members house, it also means I get some extra time with my Dutch nephews who are just the sweetest little boys ever.

Let me ask you a question, what is your favorite Disney animal character?

I don't think I could just pick one, there are so many cute ones! I think they make great ideas for manicures, there are so many characters I want to do from Disney but I don't think I actually have the skillset to paint them all that well - I still don't know how I did the two skunks as I did...I think that was a fluke. I can certainly try though, right?

Today I have Marie from The Aristocats because I thought with her pretty pink bows I could create a very girly and pink themed manicure. I really don't think I did a good job painting her, I think she's incredibly cross eyed and stoopify looking. Maybe its more her right eye that makes it look messed up to me. A try is a try, though!

For this manicure I started with my beloved OPI 'Nail Envy base coat and once dry applied two coats of Hema's 'Happy Pink' which is a super fun looking glitter. I then used my acrylic paints to freehand Marie to the best of my abilities, I add a few paws and 'shine' marks on my remaining nails. I finished it all off with my Pro-FX top coat and then proceeded the mandatory 'what do this look like matte' experiment.

Abstract Glittery Freehand Cat Nail Art

We made it! It's Friday! How about a virtual high five?! *palm to palm smack*

Today I have three little abstract kitties to show you! This nail art was inspired by a beautiful Pin I found on Pinterest which you can see here. I loved this picture and knew I wanted to recreate it. Sadly I was too scared about having enough room on my nails to have their tails at the bottom so I had to curl them around!

Up, down, all around. Who cares as long as there are tails, right? :)

As usual I began by applying my favorite base coat, OPI's 'Nail Envy' and once dry I painted on two coats of Barry M's 'White'. I then moved onto one coat of OPI's 'Make Light Of The Situation' which is a beautiful mixed size holographic glitter topper (Not that my camera would ever let you believe that!) I then created everything else using my black and white acrylic paint and two trusty all time  favorite brushes. I finished by adding some beautiful pearly tear drop studs which can be found at the *here* at the Born Pretty Store and that I previously reviewed here.

Maneki-neko (Lucky Cat) Thursday!

Happy Thursday to you polish Pals!

How has your week been? I have to say these past few weeks have been pretty fast for me but I am having a great time. Today I am bringing you a look inspired from maneki-neko otherwise known as lucky cats. I've always loved Chinese lucky cats, there's something just so lovely about them! 

Am I starting to look like a crazy cat lady? :)

Messy Ring Finger Makes Ithi Sad.

I'm not entirely happy with this manicure at all.. I see a few things now I would have done very differently and I am not impressed that I forgot to clean up my ring finger. How did I manage not to clean up? Silly Ithi. I tried again at freehand art on my middle finger to do the lucky cat. I used the only appropriate brush I had which is a MAC 209 brush. I don't have any nail polish thinner here in Holland with me so I carefully mixed some polish remover into the colours I was painting with.. Hmm. I also intended on painting some Chinese symbols but opted out as I didn't want to get them entirely wrong.

I painted China Glaze 'Red Satin' on all fingers expect my ring finger which I painted Color Club Foiled 'Antiquated'. I then added a stripe of Red Satin and Rimmel's Black out to the finish it. On the index and pinky I added dots of Black out followed by inner dots of Antiquated.

For the lucky cat I used Kiss Nail Art pens in white and black for his face and features. I also used a small dab of Herôme's light pink to give him a cute blush to his cheeks. For the bell on his collar I again used antiquated mixed with a little of Model's Own Gold Rush.

Soft Kitty.. Warm Kitty..

Happy mid-week to you all, I hope your having a good day. Today I am showing you a look which was incredibly experimental. I've never used nail strippers before and I finally decided it was about time to do some more freehand nail art. A couple weeks ago I was looking around the local drug store when I spotted just the cutest shower gel bottle. It was a great source of inspiration!

While there are many things I am not so happy about with this mani I still think the colours worked very well together and practice makes perfect right?
