Freehand Soot Sprite Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going well. I'm working most of this week – means I get Saturday off, wahoo! I'm already trying to work out what I'll be painting on my days off although when it actually comes to it I find my oompf is lacking. Just like on Sunday, I started painting some beach hut nails and I just couldn't make myself finish it. My heart wasn't in it..

But today I have some cute little soot sprites to share with you, I used to love Studio Ghibli films such as Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away.. And I always thought those little soot sprites were so cute! So I've captured them!

Freehand Little Red Riding Hood Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
I hope you are all doing super, super, super! Are ya?
I'm back in Holland! I had a great time at home although I did find out I am pre-diabetic which was..well. Quite a shock, however on the plus side finding out this now is a good thing as I can totally make changes to reverse this.

I'm actually really happy with the nail art I am going to share with you today. I had had this idea in my mind for a couple of years but I kept putting it off as I didn't think I do my idea justice.. well. It was time to come back to it and give it a fair go!

I wanted to create a very dark looking version of the Little Red Riding Hood; I don't think she has any idea he's slinking along behind her, do you?

I used OPI's Nail Envy for my base coat and applied two smooth coats of Barry M's 'White' nail polish for my painting canvas. I added a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat as a nice anchor for my acrylic to stick to.

For this manicure I played heavily with black and white acrylic paint, doing my best to mix all the shades of grey in between to create strong contrasts. Of course I needed a few flecks of red here and there.

I don't think my wolf looks particularly scary but he is pretty big, I think i'd have a fright if I turned around and saw him following me. He's pretty fluffy though so I'd probably try and hug him!

Have you done any fairytale nail art? Would you be scared of this wolf?

Have a beautiful day, my friends. Thank you so much for taking time to come visit me and my nails! I'll catch you again onWednesday :)

The Noisy Noisy Farm - Freehand Nail Art Inspired By.. A Children's Book.

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing? I hope your week is off to a great start!

Today's manicure was created while I was visiting back home in England.

Everyone was either at work or in school/nursery and my inspiration was lacking. UNTIL...!

I wandered into the living room and saw one of the books my mum has there for my Niece/Nephew. I decided it would be so fun to try and paint a page so I could show my 5 year old niece when she got home from school. The book is one of those noisy ones with the audio buttons, I better just state it was written by Stephanie Stansbie and illustrated by Veronica Vasylenko.

My kitties face is a bit deranged.

For this manicure I began with my OPI 'Nail Envy' (I hadn't tried Mezmris at this point) and once dry applied two coats of Rimmel's 'White Love' (Also hadn't stocked up on Barry M) I then added a coat of Pro-FX because... polish to paint barrier. I don't know why I do it. I then used my favorite brushes and acrylic paints to freehand the scene from both pages of the book. I sealed it all in with another

My niece was really impressed when she saw them but didn't remember where it had come from (It's been a while since she read this book as its always been there) so when I reminded her and showed her the page I'd copied she was really shocked!

What do you guys think? Have you done nail art inspired by illustration before? It was hard to fit some things in at certain places, like the cat should have been full on the fence but there just wasn't room!

If you liked this nail art please be a puddingpop and share this post by using one of the buttons below.

Have a fabulous day, I'll catch you again on Thursday (By the way, did you know Thursday is 'Burger day' – how odd! )

Dressed Up Nails (3 Manicures In 1 Post!)

Allo polish Pals!

Happy New Years! Welcome to the first post of 2016! Great to see you here! Did you have a great time celebrating? I didn't tell you this I got a new camera for Christmas! These will be the first pictures you'll see with me using it so I'd love your feedback, I think they mostly look better but I'm still making friends with the camera.

Also I have teabag protection on a rip on my index finger so please excuse any awkward looking lumps and bumps! ;)

Today's post has not one but three manicures – Triple whammy! All inspired by beautiful and interesting wedding dresses, bridesmaid dressed and even prom dresses. There are five dresses I've picked out in all from Rosa Novias extensive collection, three of which I have paired with nail art, the other two are open for discussion -What nails would you wear with the last two dresses? This is a hefty post so lets continue.

Click pictures to enlarge.
For this dress I decided to go a little darker with a bit of glitz to add some glamour. I wanted to create something that looked a little like rose petals to mimic the detailing on the dress but it didn't look how I expected.. I do think the effect is quite interesting though. This is Barry M's Black with Studio London's nameless silver glitter and freehand ruffles. I've also created a matching bold and subtle look - come see!

I'm A Fairytale Character! Story Nail Art Inspired By A Dress

How are you? I hope you are having a good week so far? Do you ever just day dream?...Zzz..

It was a beautiful crisp morning in the Enchanted forest and everyone was just beginning to arise from their slumber. First came the birds, the Robin's shaking off their sleepy dreams from their nests, the Blue Jays groggily flying off to collect breakfast for their young. Next came the critters, the dozy dormice rubbing away their sleep and the rabbits dragging their sluggish bodies into the sunlight. The drowsy deer entered the clearing beside the cottage and tentatively chewed at the dewy grass.

Inspired by this dress.
There was an almighty crash, clunk and clang as the cottage door flung open. The animals looked on with no expressions of surprise. “Here we go again..” murmered the bullfrog to the raccoon as Ithfifi crawled out of the cottage sporting an unruly head of tangled black hair, aqua plaid pyjama's and what looked like... no, it couldn't be... Yep, toothpaste around her mouth. A zombie-like groan escaped her lips - She clearly had not had a cup of tea yet. “Gee Whiz, She's really something, isn't she?” whispered the fox to the rabbit. “I've never seen anything quite like it, and the ball is in two hours! She must go, for this is the 'Ball Of Bloggers! Whatever will we do?!"

The animals retreated back into the the depths of the forest and conducted an emergency meeting.

“We are going to need Formal Ball Dresses” exclaimed the beaver. “I'll second that and add that we are going to need something for that abomination on her head! I suggest some serum..or something to stick it down at least, a tiara and a tangle teezer” announced the vole. “Guys!” shouted the chipmunk... “How could you forget, its one of the most important parts of all..!” The critters looked around desperately trying to think of what they could have forgotten. “Her nails of course! Everybody go gather what you can, we'll meet in an hour and piece everything together” instructed the chipmunk in his best bossiest voice.

So off the critters went, to seek and find a way to spruce up Ithfifi before the big ball. The frizz was banished and the tangles were tamed, she slipped into the most beautiful ball gown and holographic glittery peeptoe shoes were put upon her pedicured feet. Her cheeks were blushed with the tail of a squirell and the tiara was placed above her curls and waves.

There was just one thing left for the critters to take care of..  They began with dabs of Essie's 'Set In Stone' to add a little glitter and then the critters each took a small dotting tool and began to stick the loose holographic glitter around her cuticles, singing while they worked.
Scratchy and bitty looking glitter. Elegence without being uniform! (What do you expect when your glitter is all different shapes and sizes! )
Ithfifi yawned and carefully opened her eyes. The sunlight was pouring through the curtains and she was half hanging out of the bed. Out of the bed... No, she hadn't been in bed?! It couldn't have been a dream, could it?! It had all felt so real, the glitter, the nails! Ithfifi fearfully stared down at her hands and saw the cruddy chipped nails.. a manicure from a few days ago...

I know this has been a random post but I hope you have enjoyed something a little different. Sometimes its good to do something unusual! I'll recoverfrom the disappointment of it just being a dream. .  Man do I wish I had actual animal friends to do my nails.

Have a lovely and magical day,

Paint It Black ~ The Rolling Stones Freehand And Splatter

Allo polish Pals!
Welcome again to the weekend, wahoo! Do you have any exciting plans? Last night I was looking through my nail art pictures and I realized that I am a bad nail artist because I often neglect red. I can't help it, I just get drawn to blues and green's much easier! Today's nail art is inspired by a band I grew up listening to, my parents are huge fans of the Rolling Stones and I always remember their music playing. I was even lucky enough to go to a couple concerts a few years ago. Since I love their logo and I wanted to play with red I thought it would work perfectly in hand! I guess you can say this is a tribute with support considering the band's recent tragic happenings and a tribute to my parents.
♫ No colors anymore I want them to turn black..
♪ I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
For my white based nails I started with two coats of Barry M's 'White'. On my middle and pinkie finger I used W7's 'Matte Black' and attempted my first ever splatter nail art (I thought this would work well with 'paint it black' one of my favourite songs) For the logo on my thumb I used cheap no named acrylic paints. Finally on my index and ring-ding finger I started with Matte Black and added Catrice's 'I'm Dynamite' on top and Fearne's 'Cherry On Top' to the tips. What do you think of this nail art?

Firstly, Have you ever tried splatter nail art? I knew it would be messy but I was not prepared! Have you ever created band nail art?
Have a great evening!

Nails Inspired By... A dress!

Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? Are you looking forward to the weekend? I've had such a productive day and I'm glad to be taking a break with some blueberry muffin tea ~ yum! I'm looking forward to a busy weekend also but I'm sure tonight there will be some time in between to chill out with a glass of wine and some nail painting while Mr Bravo is out playing darts! Today's manicure was inspired by this dress I saw on Pinterest, I loved the gradient and did my best to recreate the stripes. Although mine looks a lot different I do quite like my first time using a fan brush!

On all my nails I started with two coats of Fogan's '06' which is a gorgeous light beige/taupe. I then created a gradient using Fogan's '12' and Sally Hansen's 'Ressurection'. I finally look my fan brush with a gradient mixture of Essie's 'To Buy Or Not To Buy' and Guylond's light blue from their blue gradient set.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that I didn't want to wipe these off right away and I sort of like the scratchy finished look. If I could change one thing I would have liked the lines to all be thin (The pinkie finger's lines where a little too chunky for my liking)

What do you think of this manicure? Have you used a fan brush for nail art before?

Have a great day, beauties!

Nails Inspired By.. Fashion On Pinterest

Allo polish Pals, How are you? Every time I think I am better something happens, Unluckily enough most our house has come down with the sickness. I guess that's just how it goes sometimes! I want to say a massive thank you to my readers and comment-leavers . You guys are simply awesome and I owe you so much for your continued patience and support. Come on in, you all deserve hugs! This manicure was inspired by * this* shirt I saw on Pinterest.

I started with two coats of W7's 'White' (You see a pattern emerging here?) and laid down my striping tape in diagonal lines and on my ring-ding finger I applied it horizontally. I then took three Gabrini polishes N04, N06 and N07 which are a very sheer neon shades, to apply them I used a plastic bag sandwich bag and dipped it each polish to create an almost tie-dye effect.

How do you like this manicure?
Personally there's something about it that remakes me think vintage beach holidays! Surfer t-shirts, the shirts my dad used to wear on holiday. Slightly garish in comparison to the beautiful shirt I saw on pinterest but its unique in its own way!

Look after yourselves
