Freehand Disney's 'Lumpy' The Heffalump Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend? Did you get up to anything fun?
Me and my sister took the children to a big play park that looks like a pirate ship on Saturday, the weather has been beautiful - it feels like summer is already here! Sunday was pretty dandy too, I got to have one of my Skeebab's (Mum) roast dinner followed by a nice walk in the sunshine and later on I did some painting.

Today's nail art is another manicure inspired by another weekly challenge over at Tiny Canvas! This week our theme is elephants since April 16th is 'Save the elephants day' and rightly so! These beautiful creatures have enough to endure without poachers and hunters.

For this manicure I decided to honour one of my most favourite elephants, Lumpy the Heffalump from Winnie The Pooh. I included a clip in case you've never seen Lumpy before, he is AH-dorable!

The polishes I used for this manicure are Barry M's 'Kiss Me Quick' from the quick dry range 'and Rimmel's 'Peachella'. I wasn't really sure what to pair with my Heffalump so I created some sort of scruffy looking flowers.. er. I finished it all off with my Barry M Matte top coat.

If you guys are noticing my pictures may be looking a little different to usual I do apologise. I've just been gifted a new DLSR and I have little to no experience with this type of camera – I'm also still in England so I don't have my usual photography set up. I am excited to try the camera with my set up at home!

Do you have a favourite elephant character? What do you think of my Heffalump nail art?

Don't forget to enter my international giveaway if you haven't yet!

Have a beautiful day, my friends. Thank you for visiting today. I will be back on Wednesday for some more nail art fun!

Freehand Dumbo Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope you are looking forward to the new shiny week ahead, whatever your plans. Will it be a busy week or a more relaxed one? Today I have a manicure I created while I was in England (I really managed to do a lot an still spend lots of time with my family - lovely!) I worked pretty hard on this manicure, at least three or four hours of work! Sadly while editing the pictures I discovered bubbles and that my acrylic didn't look as smooth as I had intended... Still I want to show it to you! HERE is the pin I was inspired by.

For this manicure I began with two coats of Essie's 'Tart Deco' (such an amazing shade!) and created literally everything else with my Oumaxi acrylic paints and bamboo brush. I finished off with Barry M's top coat.

In reflection I wish this manicure looked much smoother but I am glad I did this manicure, it was a challenge and its always fun to push myself! Before I started I didn't think I would manage to complete anything at all. Ever the optimistic, huh. I'm not entirely sure you'd think it was Dumbo if I hadn't told you!

What do you think of my Dumbo inspired nail art? Have you done any Disney nails before?
Have a beautiful day!

ORLY: Chantilly Peach Swatch & Review ★★★★/5

Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? Tell me something random about your day so far :D I don't really have too much to tell you but I do have a really gorgeous shade from Orly to share with you. This is 'Chantilly Peach'.

Colour ~ 'Chantilly Peach' is described as a peach gold frosted shimmer polish but I like to call it a soft peach champagne and personally I think this looks more metallic than frosted. It is very sheer so you will need to build it up for full opacity. I am wearing three coats in these pictures.

Application ~ Application is fine for the most part but you will have to watch out for those pesky brush streaks – as is common with these types of polish. I recommend being very wary of how much polish you have on the brush. Dry time is fairly reasonable.

Texture ~ This polish is very much on the watery side so as I mentioned before, be careful how much is on your brush unless you want it swimming into the sides of your nails and cuticles! Dries to a beautiful smooth metallic finish.

★★★★/5 Chantilly Peach is a great polish in my opinion. Does it look right on my nails? I'm not too sure but I do love this polish as a feature for nail art, it looks great with many colours! I would say it is a great polish to own if you don't have a metallic peach within your collection.

What do you think of this metallic peach? Do you own anything similar to this?

Have a great day!

Catrice: A Gallon Of Melon Swatch & Review ★★★★★/5

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope you enjoyed a long relaxing weekend and had a great Easter? Did you do anything nice? It was pretty quiet here and I decided to use yesterday as a swatch-a-thon day. I'm determined to get ahead of myself :) I was recently able to get my paws on a few of the new Catrice polishes, which you may of noticed in my recent nail art. I am hooked and want to use them for everything! Here is Catrice's 'A Gallon Of Melon'.

Colour ~ 'A Gallon Of Melon' is a beautiful and bright peachy coral shade. It really delivers a gorgeous pop of colour and is pretty vibrant in two coats.

Application ~ Application was really great, I love the formula. Since I was in speed-swatching mode I applied my two coats pretty fast in between and I encountered no trouble with bubbles, any streaking was taken care of within the second coat and – just an added bonus that it self leveled beautifully by the time I was done. Dry time is very reasonable.

Texture ~ I would say this is a medium thick cream polish that dries to a very high shine glossy finish even without a top coat.

★★★★★/5 I just love this shade, it screams summer! And I just love a polish that can capture summer in a bottle. I highly recommend this polish to those who are looking for a vibrant peach. As you've seen in my recent posts, It looks fantastic with nail art and looks beautiful paired with so many different colours. When you add to the fact that Catrice polishes are very reasonably priced and there are absolutely no application issues – what's not to love?

What do you think of this bright and happy shade? Have you picked up any of the new Catrice shades?

Have a beautiful day!

Happy Easter Bunday - Acrylic Bunnies At Sunset

Allo polish Pals!
Happy Easter to you all! I hope you all have a lovely day however you chose to spend today :) I'm excited as we are having a family meal later on – Fondue! I've never ever had any type of fondue and my first fondue will be done in Dutch-style! That means we'll be dipping our yums in hot oil (I always thought fondue was only done in cheese or chocolate!) Of course I miss my family in England but I know they will have a great day and I hope I will see them soon. Are you spending Easter with family? This year for my Easter manicure I decided to do something much different to last year and I think I like this better! Here are bunnies at sunset :)

I started off this manicure by creating a gradient using Pacific Rapsodi in 22, 23, Model's Own 'Sophie's Pink' and Barry M's 'Peach Melba'. I was really happy with my gradient despite a little mess around the cuticles. I then used myOumaxi acrylic paint in black to create some bunny silhouettes and finished off with my top coat.

What do you think of my sunset bunnies? Have you created a sunset type manicure before?
Have a lovely Easter, stuff yourselves silly with chocolate and enjoy the company you have :)

Frightfully Bright

Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing, did you have a good weekend? My weekend plans were cancelled since I was so poorly last week but I'm glad we will be going to the zoo next Sunday! Today I'm taking it easy with lots of Green tea, Farmville 2, a small trip to the mini mall and the season finale of The Walking Dead with Mr Bravo, do any of you guys watch that show? Last night I created an incredibly bright manicure and I was so excited to show you today. All I can say is... If I was to recreate it now I'd do a lot differently, but I'll show you anyway. Please excuse the messy cuticles (cry) it was so hard to clean this up with the rubbish nail polish remover I am now using (Love, love, love Cutex but can't find it here in Holland)

On all my nails I started with two coats of Barry M's 'Peach Melba' and created a gradient using Model's Own 'Sophie's Pink', Picture Polish 'Wisteria' and Barry M's 'Guava' on the tips. I then used striping tape to create a 'sun ray' sort of design and applied Barry M's textured polish 'Station Road'.
What I would do differently next time: I would make the tape design more abstract like the thumb nail, I think that design looks better. I would also have hoped for a better clean up for a better end result.

What do you think of this manicure? Do you like textured polish paired with this gradient?
Hope you have beautiful day!

The Peachy Dragon

Allo polish Pals!
How are you today? I hope your having a great weekend so far, are you up to much? Today I had some unexpected baby sitting of my niece but that was a lot of fun, I am making the most of my time with everybody I miss. I've also been playing 'Miss Computer-fixer-upper' by trying to give my dad my pc since it was left here in England and I rely on my laptop :) Today I have a very simple look to show you. Seriously, one of my not so good gradients... But it has Barry M!
I started by applying Barry M's 'Dragon Fruit' to my ring finger and added a Barry M gold shredded glitter which appears to have no name (Limited edition sold in Superdrug) On all my other nails I started with two coats of Barry M's 'Peach Melba' and created a gradient using 'Dragon Fruit' and Model's Own 'Sophie's Pink'. While this is SO simple and far from being anywhere what I consider a good gradient I do love the colours together. It just makes me fee warm and happy :)

What do you think of this peachy-pink manicure? Do you like pinks and oranges together?

Have a great weekend!

Hawaii Shirts And Cocktails

Allo polish pals!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend? I had a lovely weekend visiting the mall with my partner and his sister on Saturday and seeing my family back in England via Skype. It's great to be able to see everyone, my two year old niece was more interested in her biscuit though unfortunately! I treated myself to some new art stripper/pens and a few cute little mini Herôme polishes which are fantastic for stamping. Herôme is a brand I am looking forward to swatching for you soon!
Today I am sporting a very tropical warm look. Doesn't this make you think of cocktails, Hawaii shirts and some lovely sunshine?
