Love Your Nails - Orly Nail Polish Bottle Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? Did you have a lovely long weekend off work for the Easter weekend? Whatever you got up to I always love to know how you are doing.

I've got a little good news.. If you followed me the last couple of months you'll know I had a temporary job which I absolutely loved – things went slightly wrong, I was promised a permanent role..but I never got to go back. Recently a friend who worked there ran into some family issues so I went back to cover her shifts while she's abroad... well.. I've now been offered a permanent role there! I'm still on cosmetics/fragrance for now but when my friend returns they wont just get rid of me (hurrah!) it may mean I'll be moved onto a different department such as woman's wear, accessories etc.. but that's fine with me!I'm really happy about it :)

Today's design is a tribute to the ORLY Pastel City collection which came out recently for spring, I loved those polishes so much, they were a beautiful collection. I wanted to use all of the nail polishes in this design but I reigned in a little self control and only used three.

For this design I began by applying my Nail Envy base coat by OPI and once dry applied two coats of Cyber Peach two my thumb and pinkie and two coats of Power Pastel on my remaining fingers, both of these polishes are by Orly.

Once dry I applied a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat (this poor top coat is now riddled with bubbles and has seen better days...smh) I then moved in with my acrylic paints to paint an ORLY nail polish bottle and added a little of the 'Lilac City' polish inside the bottle and along my other nails to make it look as if it was spilling out. I added the hashtag 'Love Your Nails' to my thumb and pinky. I sealed in the design with another lick of top coat and eventually added my Barry M matte top coat.

In hindsight (darn you, hindsight!) I wish I had made the bottle a little fatter as it looks rather thin to be an ORLY polish bottle – and perhaps I should have used a darker shade behind the bottle to make it stand out more...All in all it was a fun one to paint though!

What do you guys think of this design? Have you done nail polish inspired nail art before?

Have a wonderful Monday, thank you so much for visiting. I'll see you again on Wednesday for an unusual 3D design!

Love,
Ithi

  10. Congrats on the permanent job! I know that’s a huge weight off your shoulders. I was in Atlanta for part of Easter because I had been with my sister & our friends for baseball. We went to brunch before driving back. We made it home just before 8 PM. I really like this design! What a cool way to pay homage to a brand!
