Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing
today? I hope you had an amazing weekend, did you do anything
special?
I basically just
carried on as I have been! Walking outside a lot and working out
hard. I've actually really been enjoying my exercise.
Today I am excited to
get some nice fresh vegetables to test out my new steamer! - That
makes me feel really old and a little sad, haha.
Take happiness where you can, my friends!
Today I have another
item from the Born Pretty Store to share with you, this is “2Pcs/setShinning Mirror Nail Glitter Powder & 5ml Top Coat Nail ArtChrome Pigment Glitters” and I'll be showing you the gold powder...Baaaling bling!
If you are a frequent
visiter you may remember my 'mirror' nail art recently which I did
using a sticky top coat... fail!
Luckily this time I
nailed the chrome mirror look thanks to the Born Pretty Store's soak
off gel top coat which worked perfectly with the powder.
The top coat comes in a
tiny mini bottle and does have a rather unusual smell however I had
absolutely no trouble using this on my nails and it cured in just a
few seconds under my not-so-powerful UV lamp. I may not know much
about gel polishes but I am very impressed with this one and I will
for sure be ordering a full size when I can for my own personal use.
The powder comes in a
little screw-lid pot and holds roughly 1 gram of powder. My picture
is taken before I had used any so you can see it is quite a generous
amount considering you only need a little to do your nails. I also
liked that there was a seal cap when opened, I like to know nothing
has been opened and poked about with fingers!
To do these golden
nails I started with a peel off base to make life easier – its much
easier to remove the gel this way. I then applied two coats of
Catrice's 'Noir Vert' black nail polish. I then applied a thin layer
of the Born Pretty Store top coat and cured my nails under my lamp
for approximately 20 seconds. Using the little eyeshadow-type brush I
dipped the tip in the gold powder and began to gently rub it across
my nails. I used a fluffy brush to dust off any excess from around my
nails and repeated the gel and cure step
again.
again.
I have to say I am
really impressed with the ease of doing mirror nails now that I am
using the right products. I assumed it would be much more...fiddly
and complicated. If you are considering trying mirror chrome nails I
would say go for it! Its quite a fun little process and while the 'in
your face gold' isn't quite my style I am looking forward to trying
this with nail art on top in the future.
What do you
guys think of the mirror nail art trend – did it interest you? Do
you use gel polishes often in your manicures?
If you've not entered
my giveaway yet..what are you waiting for?! The days are ticking
down!
Have a beautiful day my
loves, I'll be back on Wednesday with some more freehand nail art.
Thanks for visiting!
Love
Ithi
Ooh, this looks pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about using those powders but I would have to buy a lamp and gel polish etc. and I keep blowing my budget on normal polishes that are just too nice to not buy them ;)
I love this effect! I haven't tried these powders yet since I don't have a lamp for gel polish
