Abstract Nail Art Video Tutorial & 1.5 Holographic/Gold Nail Round Sequin Paillette's - Born Pretty Store Review

*PressSample* This post contains an item(s) that was provided for reviewing purposes however I will as always give my full and honest opinion.
Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope your week is going better than mine.
I'm not having a bad week as such but I am struggling to sleep at all at the moment and I'm the kind of person who refuses to leave my bed so it means hours of rolling around trying to fall asleep. Any advice?

Today I have a review and a video for you. I 'm checking out Born Pretty Store's '1.5g Born Pretty Holographic/Gold Nail Flakies – 1mm,2mm & 3mm Round Nail Sequin Paillette's' – again with the long titles but that's ok, I'm not saying it out loud!

Below you'll find a video showing how I created this nail art. I thought it was simple enough that perhaps anyone could try it out. If you do please let me see!

When I selected this item to review I must have misjudged the options because I had assumed these were going to be holographic. When you can pick holographic anything, why wouldn't you? It seems however I did in fact select the gold option but they are still pretty none the less.

They come in a typical screw lid pot and let me tell you, Born Pretty have been super generous with these, the pot is bursting full so you will get so many uses out of these. Don't forget, you don't have to consign them just to nail art, they can be used to decorate whatever you fancy!

I like the size of these because they lay nice and flat on the nail bed, I applied mine by adding them after my last coat of top coat and they stayed on pretty well. I'm thinking there could be some super cute designs using these for the holiday period, gold would be great for Christmas and New Years Eve nail art, can you imagine these paired with whites, reds and greens?

What do you guys think of this simple abstract nail art? Would you wear a design like this?

Have an awesome day my friends, thank you so much for visiting. Don't forget to say hi, I love to read your comments. I'll catch you again on Saturday for some another nail art shindig.

Love,
Ithi

    1. Aww thank you so much, Cia! I am glad you liked it and I hope your daughter does too! I'm so far behind in things like YouTube - I think only 10 people saw this :'( Its a great work in progress and once I am comfortable in how I am filming I will try and do 'the big stuff'!

    1. Thank you so much, Kelly! Yes that is so true and lately there are SO many creative and wacky designs floating around on the internet. I'd say this one is tame, haha.

  3. Well that's cool! I probably wouldn't wear the gold chips because I climb and cramming your fingers right up against a rock wall means those gold chips would immediately flake off, but they are pretty.

    1. Thank you very much, Liz! Even as a non-climber.. Mine suffer the wrath of my other hand. I like to pick things off after I am done creating, haha!

    1. Kristal it can be easier if you make dots, then you just need to join them up! :) Thank you!

  5. Ooh, pretty!!! I can actually see myself wearing this :)

Recently I've had some problems sleeping as well. The best advice given to me was to NOT stay in bed if I couldn't sleep. Just get up, leave the covers open, walk to the living room (or anywhere really), if possible keep the lights off and just try let your body and your bed cool down a bit. Apparently the cooling down triggers your brain into getting sleepy again so when you start to feel drowsy you just go back to a nice cool bed and hopefully drift off. Also, when it really starts to affect your daily routines, a trip to your doctor to ask for advice (and maybe even medication to help you sleep) isn't a bad thing. Fortunately for me the cooling down tip was enough ;)

    1. Joyce! <3 I think I know some of the reason why, I had a dentist appointment today and while I wasn't actively worrying about it it probably did affect me. My mum very kindly bought be a pillow spray and considering how anxious I was last night I did manage to sleep better!! I will remember your cooling down tip too, staying in bed rolling around really didn't help the matter! I hope you are sleeping better now :)

    2. Glad to hear you're sleeping better now. Yep, stress and worrying are also "great" to keep you awake. I'm sleeping a lot better now that the weather has cooled down. I'm going to remember that pillow spray in case cooling down doesn't do the trick anymore :)

  7. I wouldn't say this was a simple design, but seeing your other creations I understand why you would say that. I like the idea of sparkly gray with golden waves on it. The golden circles look like a nice add-on as well.

  9. That's an interesting tutorial, however I'm more into a classy manicure.
Regarding your sleep problem - try Jason Stephenson on youtube and listen to his guided sleep meditations, it helps a lot!!!
