*Today's post contains
an item(s) that was provided for reviewing purposes however I will as
always give my full, honest and unbiased opinion.
Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing
today? Gimme a little update, I love to know how you are all getting
on.
I can hardly believe we
are half way through the week again – I thought last year went fast
but blimey!
Today I'll be showing
you two products from the Born Pretty Store, yes, two in one post!
Look at me goooo! *Almost falls off
chair* One wasn't actually included in my review line up but I thought I'd give you a little look too :)
Ahem.. First of all I
have 'Born Pretty Store Chameleon Starry Paillette Sparkly, UltraThin Glitter Sequins' to share with you, these come in a set of 12
colours but I'll be showing you #2734
Keep on reading to see how this looks over other colours and to see the next product!
I'll start by saying
the obvious. These are not 'sequins'. In actually
fact they are more like very fine flakes of pigmented powder, imagine
eye shadow meets foil. This pot contains approximately 12-0.15g. You
don't need to use a lot for this to be effective so it will last
longer than you think.
I wore my NYC peel off
base coat for this manicure, ensuring I can remove the gel easily as
and when I decide. I have tried these with many different base
colours so I wont list them here, but you can see how this looks on
various colours.
I applied these by
using the Born Pretty Store gel top coat over my desired base
colour(I *need* a full size of this gel!!) and
once cured under my lamp I used the eye shadow brush to pick up some
of the flakes from the jar and rub them onto the nail. I didn't need
a lot of pressure and the flakes very quickly took to the nail. To
seal them in I used the same top coat again and cured again for
around 20 seconds.
The whole process is
actually really quick and easy with not much mess involved.
I know some of
you are dubious about using gel polishes and I do understand that,
but the method I am using here ensures quick, easy and safe removal
of the gels once I wish to remove it.
Conclusion? Overall I am
really happy with these flakes and I love how they
look paired with nail art (Now you can see what I used for my Star
Wars nail art.) I like how easy they are to use, I'm content with the
quality & quantity...however.. Now I want to try all of the colours..!
Today's second product
is one that I felt I probably couldn't write too much about. Its a
simple idea but it offers a very useful solution that we probably all
face.
This is 'Born Pretty Colour Buttons, Polish Display White Adhesive Plaster' - This
is an ideal way to keep track of your nail polishes, depending on how
you keep your nail polish it may be hard to find exactly which one
you are looking for – unless of course you are lucky enough to have
a nail polish rack or shelving solution. For me that isn't an option
due to limited space.
While I feel I don't
need this for my nail polishes though it did come in handy another way.
They come on a single
sheet containing 25 individual round stickers. They come on a
sillicon type base and are very flexible and easy to paint. While
this is not something a lot of people will need if you are having
trouble finding your beloved paints and polishes this acts as a nice
and simple (and clean looking) solution.
My acrylic paints are something I reach for nearly on a daily basis however they are in the second drawer down on my desk and while its the perfect home to keep them safe when it is dark it can be hard to tell which colour I am grabbing until I've taken the bottle completely out and looked at it in the light. These handy little stickers are idea for making them obvious.
So today's post was a
mammoth, wasn't it?! But that's ok because I love spending time with you guys :)
Do let me know what you think of these products,
would you nail station benefit from the swatch buttons? What do you
think of the powder flakes?
I hope you all have a
fantastic day, thank you for visiting me again. I'll be back on
Saturday with another nail art post.
Love,
Ithi
The glitter sequins are beautiful. And the polish display color button seems very useful :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I have to say they have helped me find my acrylics much easier, I must be less lazy and finish the remaining ones!
DeleteYou achieved a sparkly and elegant looking manicure with the flakes on the black glitter nail polish. I like the round stickers a lot and they are very useful because all my nail polishes are in boxes and I always have to take them out until I find the one I need. I will add it to my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Andrea! I really liked how they looked on the Essence polish too, I think the sparkles in the polish gave it more dimension :) Oh yes these buttons are PERFECT for box-type storage solutions!
DeleteThese are so beautiful! They remind me of space!
