Allo polish Pals!
How are you all doing today? I hope
you've got something fun lined up for the weekend? I'm currently at
work – don't worry, I'm not blogging at work, I'm a good scheduler!
Hey look, your latest Instagram post
just went viral! Check out the notifications, its almost like they
are jumping right out at you! Blimey, you even got 1 million
followers!
How did I shade these? Why does it look
like they are actually popping off of my nails? My secrets shall be
revealed!
How I got my notifications to pop out
was by carefully stacking up some small sequins I rarely use. I
created a tower for each little notification and eventually added
these to the back. They were surprisingly sturdy and I had to
actually pull them off once I was done. No one needs a like in the
eye, am I right?

card and painted with acrylic paint. I also added an acrylic-gradient
to the thumb using a brush and a mixture of colours to represent the
Instagram logo. The borders were created using my WhatsUpNails #20
Dance brush.
I added a layer of Barry M's matte top
coat for a perfectly smooth and fitting look.
Before I get screamed at about how
unwearable this nail design is please remember its obviously not the
sort of nail art you're going to wear while completing everyday tasks
(Oh, can you imagine?!) But I think it created a very fun and unique
look. I had fun trying this idea out, that's for sure!
What do you guys think of this
crazy nail art? Have you had social media inspired nails before?
Have an awesome weekend, thank you so much for stopping by! I'll catch you again on Monday for some more nail art fun!
Love,
Ithi
Great idea! Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Gosia! I hope you've had a fantastic weekend too!
DeleteWay to do instagrams proud. This is so creative. It's hard to believe that what's holding the notifications up is sequences. How long would you say it took you to complete this look in entirety?
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much, Cia! I'd say the whole design took around four hours - staggered but that would include the base coat through to the final matte top coat. I had to allow time for my white polish to dry (two coats) and do the gradient all with a brush & acrylics aswell as the borders. I created the instagram notifications a few days before, designs like this are great as you can get the prep done in advance! Because of that I had them ready to go so once everything else was done I just had to pop them on top :)
