Allo polish Pals!
How are you doing today? Happy Hump day
to you. It doesn't feel like hump day to me as today I am back at
work until Saturday, what an odd working week, don't you think? Still
I am excited to go in and see everyone, sale some gorgeous perfume and serve
some fabulous customers.
You can not imagine my surprise when a
delivery man pulled up at my door last week. I hadn't been expecting
any parcels so I assumed that it must have been a delivery for my
dad. As the courier man was preparing the electronic signature
machine-thingy I saw it. Those sexy bold letters
on the side of the box, calling me seductively. O R L Y - I gasped SO loud that
the man jumped back and genuinely looked very bewildered.
Awkward...
Do you know what I love about ORLY?
They can take a classic idea such as pastels and completely turn it
on its head. You wont find any streaky sherbet yellows, no sheer mint
greens that'll end up probably unused and unloved in this collection
(Ok, I actually like those last two types of polish but this
collection is far more fun!)
Metallics are the furtherest thing in
my mind when I think about pastels. Metallic pastels? How can the two
marry together? Well.. I'm not sure how those little angels in the
ORLY HQ managed it but they sure did because this collection oozes
with sophistication and sexiness. Prepare to meet a pastel collection
unlike any other!
Huge thanks to my star Sophie and the ORLY team for sending this collection along for me to review and the beautiful and thoughtful card!
Just so you know.. this video resulted in my tea being filled with glitter rsequins!! |
Cyber Peach - A beautiful and warm peach cream, this
is such a flattering colour on the nails. I am in love with this
shade!
Electric Jungle - I find it hard to describe this one..
I'd say its a cool and soft looking metallic silver grey with hints
of blue/green that has a very delicate finish.
Pink Noise - A gorgeous and happy looking coral
crème – something about this shade makes me think of beaches and
summer – loving it!
Lilac City - This one I believe delivers more than
its name suggests. Its certainly got some warm pink tones which work
beautifully with the lilac metallic base.
Metallic Haze -A stunning off gold/taupe metallic, again it has such a beautifully soft look to its finish that makes it appear very delicate compared to some other metallic nail polishes. Doesn't it look silky?
Power Pastel - What pastel collection isn't complete
with a pale pink shade? At a quick glance you could mistake Power
Pastel as a white but it has just the perfect amount of pink to make
it so unique. This is a delicate powder pink crème.
Once again I am thoroughly impressed
with this collection, ORLY only ever seem to create perfection. I'll
also add that I loved how these metallic shades had such a silky
finish to them, I didn't have too much trouble with brush strokes
which is a problem typically with metallic nail polish.
I had no issues with bubbling,
streaking or application. They all applied like a dream, self leveled
and dried in a good amount of time. In these pictures I am wearing
two coats of polish and no top coat – the shine you are seeing on
my nails comes purely from their colours.
What do you think of this
collection? Is there a colour you like best?
Have a fantastic day my loves! I shall
skip along to work. Thank you so much for visiting, I'll catch you
again on Friday!
Love,
Ithi
Beautiful set of polishes and all of the colors are so pretty. I like the most Pink Noise. Great swatches dear!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Andrea! They are very pretty aren't they? :) Pink noise is also one of my faves, it has such a healthy glow!
DeleteThese colors are beautiful and the brand to me is new, I never heard of Orly. Do you know if this nail polish is one of the 5-Free brands? I am always on the hunt for non toxic nail polish.
ReplyDeleteI think so too, Noelle! Actually they are much better than 5-free, they are 12-free! They really are a great brand to check out, if you are looking for healthier nail polish I suggest their Breathable range which has 18 shades.
DeleteI love it when things get to people who both deserve and can appreciate them. I'm so happy that you got these polishes! I think that Cyber Peach and Pink Noise are my favourites, for they do create the sense of summer and peacefulness.
ReplyDeleteThese polishes are lovely for spring. I really adore Electric Jungle and Metallic Haze! Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI want all those colors especially the gold one. Love how all these colors have a hint of glitter in it.
ReplyDeleteIthi! what a wonderful surprise! I think this collection is beautiful and very romantic! I prefer the creme finish colours.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen pastel metallics before and omg I am in LOVE. You’re so right - sexy and sophisticated! And yet so subtle. Next on my wish list for sure!
