Fly Away Kite Nail Art

Allo polish Pals!

How are you all doing today? Did you experience snow over the weekend? It was pretty deep here, I ventured to the shop for groceries wearing two pairs of trousers and Wellington boots, it was not an easy trip!! Poor little Mars, my cat, did not want to go outside at all and ended up being rather bored and fed up. I didn't feel like painting or editing posts, I feel like I actually did next to nothing, basically from around Thursday to Sunday I have been so lazy, ha!

The snow turned to ice by Thursday/Friday but luckily on Sunday we were able to get the car out as we spent Sunday in Accident and Emergency (A&E – ER room to Americans) at the local hospital. My poor mum managed to stab herself with a fork while washing up a short while ago and despite being on antibiotics it was looking considerably worse so we managed to convince her to go get it looked at. Apparently its very lucky that she went in when she did. Hopefully her finger will get better now with the treatment they did and the new antibiotics.

Today's nail art features a nail polish I reviewed recently from Prism Polish Uk, 'Whats This?' which you can see right here.

Wow.. amazing focus, Ithi.. Smh.

For this design I began with my OPI Nail Envy base coat and allowed a couple minutes for it to dry. I then used ORLY's 'White Tips' for a nice white canvas and applied a thin coat Prism Polish Uk's 'What's This?'. I added a slick coat of Pro-FX top coat for my acrylic paints to sit on top. Mixing black and a deep navy blue acrylic paints I created a gradient using a medium sized paint brush and my smaller Pure Color #10 brush for all the smaller details. I sealed this all in with my ORLY glosser top coat and eventually added Barry M's matte top coat.

Overall I am quite happy with this nail art, I always love painting skies and find it so relaxing.
Apologies for the blurry close up – I was still getting to grips with my new camera. I find the focus placement on it so tricky, It always wants to take a picture of obscure parts of my hands.

I am not happy with the brush I am using for my clouds though, the one I had been using since forever really isn't up to its job any more. I ordered a set of similar ones on The Born Pretty Store around four months ago and it is yet to arrive, apparently I will be given a coupon of the same value – what, so I can order it again and wait another four months for it not to arrive? K, cool, thanks. Pssh.

I stopped reviewing for the Born Pretty Store last year – I always loved their products but their ridiculous posting/arriving times has just put me off. I am not going to accept items to review if I don't believe in their service nor will I tell people how great it is if a customer doesn't even receive their items. I've had a lot of nail friends experience the same thing and it is a real shame as their collection of nail art items is so good. Have any of you had this experience as a customer, not a reviewer?

What do you think of this nail art? Is there something you'd like to see me paint next?

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have an amazing day! I'll catch you again on Wednesday.

Love,
Ithi

  10. Oh boy, I hope your mum's hand feels better now. How I hate hospital emergency rooms ...
We had snow until Sunday and then it rained and got a bit warmer and everything went away, ha!
I love your mani and that beautiful glittery sky! I am sorry your order from BPS hasn't arrived yet. I keep reviewing for them, but I always receive their items in a 3-4 weeks time, except once, when I order during the Chinese new year holidays and my order got lost. But I know a lot of people having issues with the delivery from this shop :(
